In Too Deep

Eleven

Wylla woke to the sound of movement in the room. Her eye snapped open quickly. She relaxed seeing that she was still in Niall's bed. She pulled the blanket around her a bit tighter then glanced around for Niall.
"Morning sunshine." Niall spoke from the bathroom door.
"Morning." Wylla hummed with a smile. She loved the way he had dressed himself. He had a button down short sleeve shirt, his chest hair poking out just a bit paired with black trousers and his nice watch.
"I have to go to work." Niall informed her, sitting on the bed beside her. Wylla nodded and tried to sit up. "Stay." He smiled easing her back. Wylla lifted her eyebrow. "Get some rest. The house will be quiet and empty all day. We both know the dorms are always loud." His smile was warm and loving. "Sleep." Niall offered. Wylla nodded. "I have a break at noon. I'll come back and wake you up. Then we can have lunch and I'll bring you back to the campus." Wylla nodded with a smile. Niall leaned over her and kissed her gently. "I'll see you at noon."
"Noon." Wylla repeated softly. Niall kissed her once more. A tender, loving kiss that made Wylla wish that he didn't have to go. "You should leave now. You're going to be late." Wylla murmured into his kiss, realizing that he wished he didn't have to leave either.
"Noon. I promise." Niall beamed at her, backing out of the kiss. She nodded and unwound her arms from his neck. Niall slowly got up from the bed, taking one last look at the exhausted girl in his bed with a smile.

Niall walked into his lecture hall with a sigh. He was still tired from spending the night with Wylla. He'd gotten sleep that was restful but he wanted more. Wylla made it easier to sleep. Her arms wrapped around his torso with her head on his chest was comforting. He smiled as he thought of the way she whined when he tried to get out of the bed. She went back to sleep of course; she was used to sleeping alone as well. But the way she whimpered and held him tighter when he tried to slip out of the covers was so adorable to him. His smile grew when he thought of the way that Wylla looked at him when she woke. She was so happy to see him. Her smile was bright but sleepy and her eyes showed a genuine joy. He couldn't wait to be done with morning classes so he could go home to her.
"Niall." That deep and smooth voice he wasn't expecting came from behind him. Niall jumped and turned to Harry.
"Hey." Niall chuckled.
Harry leaned against Niall's desk, "Hey." Niall noticed where Harry had chosen to lean exactly. Niall couldn't help but smile more as he thought of what had happened in that exact spot the day before. "What is with the smile on your face this morning?" Harry laughed at his best friend.
Niall shook his head quickly, "Nothing." He cleared his throat and tried to wipe the smile from his face.
"Niall." Harry tried not to laugh.
"A girl." Niall responded softly. Harry's eyes lit up and he punched Niall in the arm. "Ouch." Niall grunted.
"Tell me. Tell me everything." Harry sounded as though he were begging.
"Nope. It's still new and I'm not going to let you ruin it." Niall snapped at Harry with a teasing smile. Harry pouted, folding his arms over his chest. "Don't you have a class you're supposed to be teaching in like twenty minutes, across campus?" Niall asked Harry curiously.
"Yes but I tried calling you a bunch of times last night and you didn't answer. I came over here to see what the fuck, but now I know." Harry smirked at Niall. "Plus the wife is in my room, she can handle it." Niall rolled his eyes. "You know the second I tell her you'll be forced to give details and there's nothing you can do about it right?"
"Yeah but you're not going to tell her. I really like this girl and she's shy and I don't want you guys scaring her away." It was a half lie. Wylla was a shy person and he knew that Harry and Harry's wife's real personalities would be a little too much for her. But he couldn't tell them because they were on staff. They couldn't know about Wylla because she was a student and Niall was breaking one of the most serious of rules. Niall threw his bag on the desk with an attitude.
"We'll get to meet her eventually right?" Harry asked with hopeful eyes. Niall just shrugged; he didn't want to make any promises he couldn't keep. "Niall, come on. A girl that puts that kind of a smile on your face is one that I want to meet. If she got Mr. My Job Is My Life to ignore a work call, she must be special."
"She is. But just give us some time." Niall pleaded softly. Harry lifted his eyebrow and appeared amused. "It's like really new. I'm not even really sure of what we have."
Harry nodded, "Alright. I'll hold off on telling the wife for now. But don't let her see you smiling like that. She'll be worse than me with the questions."
"Thank you." Niall sighed heavily. Suddenly the doors to the lecture room swung open. He was shocked to see Wylla's roommate come barging in. "Maddie?" Niall looked at her with worry.
"Maddie?" Harry was equally as worried seeing the panic in her eyes.
"Wylla didn't come back to the dorm last night. She said she'd be home before midnight and she never came back. She wasn't there when I went to sleep and she wasn't there when I woke up." Maddie spoke quickly, her panic becoming even more obvious. "She's never not come home. She always comes home." Maddie started to weep. "David has been hanging around. What if he did something to her?" Maddie's panic escalated even quicker.
"Maddie. Maddie. Calm down." Niall rubbed her arms gently the way he'd seen Wylla do it a dozen times. "I'm sure she's fine. I'm sure of it. Have you tried calling her?" Niall asked gently.
Maddie shook her head, "Not this morning no."
"Just call her." Niall smiled, trying to make her feel better. Maddie nodded and took out her phone. She dialed Wylla quickly, tapping her foot anxiously as she waited for her to answer.
"WYLLA!" Maddie shouted, relief in her voice. "Where are you? Why haven't you answered your phone? Why didn't you come home?" Maddie asked without pause. Niall chuckled as did Harry. They listened carefully to what they could hear. "Okay. I'll see you later then?" Maddie asked with a hopeful voice. "Okay. Bye." Maddie hung up slowly. She looked at Niall and Harry with embarrassed eyes. "Apparently she got in after I went to bed then got up before I did. She's in the library studying for a test." Maddie spoke softly.
Niall smiled, "See everything is okay." Maddie nodded shyly. "Go on. Get to classes." Niall urged her out of the room.
"I'm sorry." Maddie murmured.
Harry shook his head, "No. You're supposed to come to us when these things happen. We're here for your safety as well." Niall felt his stomach drop a little. He was the reason that Harry and Maddie were worried about Wylla's safety. "But Horan is right, you need to get off to whatever class you have, I'm sure Wylla will be home when you're done with classes." Harry assured Maddie. She nodded then left the room after whispering a thank you. Niall sighed heavily and ran his hand through his hair. He knew that he was acting weird now but he couldn't shake the feeling of guilt. "Something on your mind, Niall?" Harry asked with a lifted eyebrow.
Niall shook his head, "Nah. Feel bad for Maddie." Harry watched Niall for a moment, wondering where his sudden uneasiness came from. Niall looked at his watch, "I have a class in ten minutes. I really need to get on with my prep."
Harry nodded, "Yeah. Oh, and Luna wants you to come over for dinner tonight. It being a Tuesday and all."
"Yeah, I'll try." Niall smiled at Harry. He knew that it was expected of him to be at Harry's but he was hoping he would get to spend the evening with Wylla again. Harry lifted his eyebrow at Niall again, wondering why he was acting so weird all of a sudden.

Wylla walked out of the bedroom, dressed in the t-shirt Niall had worn the night before. She didn't feel like struggling back into the clothes she'd worn to impress him. Her bare feet on the hardwood floor in the hall was soothing. She'd missed that feeling. The floor of her dorm was carpeted and she hated it. She scratched her head nervously, not exactly sure of where she was going. She knew that she was hungry all of a sudden; she knew how to get to the kitchen. As she entered the large kitchen she smiled seeing a note on the refrigerator with her name in bold letters.
Wylla,
Tea is in the corner cupboard. There are plenty of things for you to eat, but if you're like me in the morning...cereal is in the cupboard to the left of the refrigerator.
Niall

Wylla giggled and set the note on the counter. She went looking for the cereal and the tea.

Wylla began roaming around the house again after cleaning up her mess from breakfast. She smiled when she found Niall's office. There were books piled all over the place. The shelves were overflowing. He had books spine out and in front of those books were small stacks. He had stacks on the floor, stacks on the desk, the table, the chair and small sofa. Stacks and stacks of books. It was just liked she'd imagined.
Wylla sat down at his desk. She smiled and ran her hands over the hardwood as she sank into the the fluffy, leather chair. Wylla giggled as she spun the chair quickly. She stopped herself after a moment then pulled herself closer to the desk. She looked around carefully, looking for something that would tell her more about Niall. She smiled brighter when she saw a well worn book sitting on top of a smaller stack. It still had a book mark inside of it, near the end of the novel. Wylla picked up the book and examined it. It was nothing that she'd heard of but she was curious as to what it as. There was no visible title on the red covered book. She cracked the book open cautiously, like she was afraid to break it. Wylla stuck her tongue out and made a disgusted face. Poetry. She shrugged and decided to read it anyway. It would help her know Niall better.

Wylla looked up at the clock with surprised eyes. She'd been reading from Niall's stack of books for hours. It was noon. The sound of the door opening is what had caught her attention. Wylla set the book down quickly and scrambled out of the chair. She didn't want Niall to think that she was snooping. Before Wylla could make it out the door of his office, Niall stepped into the room.
"Hey." Niall smiled warmly at her.
Wylla sighed in relief, "Hi."
"What are you doing?" Niall asked, brushing his fingers over her arm lightly.
Wylla blushed and shook her head, "Nothing just reading. You have so many books." Niall chuckled and walked further into the room. He glanced around with a smile, he could see what Wylla had been reading.
"Find anything you really liked?" Niall inquired as he turned to face Wylla. She shrugged shyly, folding her arms over her chest nervously. "Wylla, what's wrong?" Niall asked with worried eyes. He took a step closer to her and placed his hands on her arms. She shook her head again, letting her eyes drop to the floor. "Wylla. Tell me." Niall spoke with a gentle tone to ease her discomfort.
"I don't want you to think that I was snooping. I wasn't." Wylla murmured.
Niall chuckled, "I don't care, Wylla. You can do whatever you like." Wylla was shocked by his statement. "You can snoop if you want to." Niall wrapped his arms around Wylla's waist to pull her close. Wylla tensed up once again, resting her hands on Niall's chest. "What is the matter, Wylla?" Niall inquired. "Am I not allowed to hold you?" Wylla shrugged. Niall frowned, "Wylla, talk to me." Niall pleaded.
"I don't know how to act. I wanna be close to you. Wrapped up in your arms, in your kiss." Wylla whispered.
"But..." Niall urged her to keep speaking.
"But I...you were right in saying that this is wrong. You are my professor and I'm just a first year student." Wylla blushed.
"Yes. But this is what it is now. Whatever it is. I really like you. I like being around around you. I don't know how to act with you either. But we're in my house so you can do whatever you please. You can be wrapped up in my arms if that's what you want." Niall smiled and pulled her even closer to him. She wound her arms around his neck and smiled shyly. "I love the way you look in my shirt." Niall whispered before placing a soft kiss on her lips. Wylla blushed more and deepened the kiss. She placed her hands on the back of Niall's head, holding his lips to hers. Niall held her tighter, making her mesh her body to his. Niall backed out of the kiss slowly. "Are you hungry?" Wylla smiled and nodded. Niall grinned, "Awesome. I brought food from one of my favorite restaurants." Niall released Wylla from his embrace then led her off to the kitchen.

Wylla and Niall sat on the sofa intertwined. Niall sat facing the television and Wylla faced him, her legs over his and her arm draped over his shoulders. Niall rested his hand between her thighs to make sure they were completely connected.
"Which writer is your favorite?" Wylla asked of Niall with a grin.
Niall thought deeply for a moment, "Keats." Wylla lifted her eyebrow. "Yes. I know that you hate poetry but I like Keats. He uses imagery in a way that most other poets of that time didn't. Plus, he did many other things. Not just poetry." Wylla nodded slowly. "Yours?" Niall smiled.
"Um." Wylla pondered the question for a long moment. "Probably, Faulkner."
"An American." Niall smirked.
Wylla giggled, "Yes. An American. A Rose For Emily is one of my favorite pieces of all time."
"But that's so morbid, baby." Niall nearly whined at her. Wylla laughed and shook her head. "She hid the corpse of a two timer in her bed so she wouldn't feel even more alienated when people found out that he was actually gay. It's a terribly sad and morbid story." Niall puffed.
Wylla shrugged, "I know but the detail is amazing and he never says what really happened. He just eludes to a lot. You kind of have to piece together a lot of the story. It makes you think. And for being a short story, that's amazing." Niall smiled up at her. "I also really like Hemingway. He was a misogynist for sure but the man could write a novel that tugged at your heart. I love The Sun Also Rises."
Niall shook his head, "I'm failing you in one-oh-one. This is ridiculous. American writers." Wylla giggled and punched him in the chest playfully. "I'll get you a writer worth reading that you will love more that those two."
"What about a Spanish writer?" Wylla inquired with a smile. Niall lifted his eyebrow. "Frederico Garcia Lorca." Wylla murmured. Niall lifted his eyebrow in surprise. "The only poet I will read willingly and feel passionate about."
"Okay, I won't fail you. That is a step up for you. There's a poet you actually like. I might have to look into more of his work." Niall grinned up at Wylla.
"I have an extensive collection of his work in my dorm. I could bring one to you." Wylla bit her lip, hiding a nervous smile.
"If you love it, then I want to read it." Niall beamed at her. Wylla shook her head and pressed her lips to his gently. Niall slid his hand up her thigh slowly, then across her abdomen to her hip. He pulled her a little closer. Wylla carefully shifted so she was sitting in Niall's lap, straddling his thighs. Niall moaned into her kiss when she started to run her fingers through his hair. "Wylla. Wylla." Niall backed out of the kiss with sad eyes. "We have to get back to campus. Your class starts soon and I have to get back to mine as well." Niall frowned pointing to the clock. Wylla glanced over with sadness. It was after one and her class started at two. "You should get dressed." Niall murmured. Wylla slid off his lap with bright red cheeks. Niall leaned closer to her, "Believe me, I want you. But...I don't...we need to get to class." Wylla nodded and stood from the sofa.

"Do you want to come over again tonight? We can talk about your shitty American writers and argue about poetry some more." Niall chuckled as they pulled onto a back route to the staff parking lot.
Wylla shook her head, "I can't. Maddie called me in a panic. I think I should sleep in my dorm tonight." Niall frowned a bit and nodded. He understood but he didn't like it. Now he would have to go to Harry's house for dinner. "Maybe tomorrow night?" Wylla smiled weakly.
Niall grinned, "Definitely." He reached over and took her hand in his. He laced their fingers and began to caress the back of her hand with his thumb.
"Niall." Wylla murmured. Niall glanced over at her and hummed. "How...Do you want my phone number?" Wylla asked shyly. Niall released Wylla's hand then reached into his back pocket. He handed Wylla his phone with a laugh. Wylla looked at it curiously.
"The password is one-nine-nine-three." Niall informed her. She nodded and typed in the pass-code. Niall smiled as he peeked over at Wylla. She was typing quickly, like she was uncomfortable having his phone in her hands. "Wylla, baby." Niall murmured as he pulled into a parking space. Wylla quickly handed him his phone. "Wylla." Niall spoke a little louder.
"What, Niall?" She whispered. He could see that she was uncomfortable.
"Everything is okay." Niall assured her. Wylla smiled and nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow. Say...three?" Niall inquired with a smile.
"Three. I'll bring those poetry books for you." Wylla replied.
"Give me a kiss." Niall demanded when Wylla reached for the door. Wylla blushed and looked around cautiously. "It's staff parking. All of the professors are busy on Tuesday. No one is going to be out here." Niall spoke with an assuring tone once again. Wylla leaned in and pressed her lips to Niall's. He kissed her softly and slowly, taking his time to caress every inch of her mouth with his own. Wylla sighed heavily and leaned over the center console even more. "You should get to class." Niall whispered backing out of the kiss. Wylla nodded and even though she didn't want to, she jumped from Niall's car and ran for the building her class would be in.
