Icing on the Cake
Chapter Thirty-Three
~33~
Calum drove himself and me to the school. We stood around, waiting for grand march to start and took a lot of selfies. Grand march finally started.
Michael and Ashton decided not to walk grand march together. They weren’t comfortable or whatever, I don’t know, straight boys.
Calum and I walked, and we got so many cheers. It felt like another victory lap because we fought and won the right to walk this.
Afterwards, basically all of us were waiting outside, waiting for the actual dance to start. We were talking to a lot of people. We tried to get picture with all four of us, but Ashton said he would just take pictures for us.
Michael, Calum and I were in a picture together. Michael was wearing black pants, black vest and a white shirt. Both him and I removed our ties. I was still wearing my gray pants ,vest, and aqua shirt and Calum still his black pants, bow tie and blue shirt with a black fedora.
Calum then decided to take a selfie with us. He was in the center, I to his left and Michael to his right.
The dance finally started, and we danced the night away.
“Lads.” Ashton said to get our attention. “Michael posted the video before we came here, and our video already has two-hundred views.”
“Maybe one of our songs will be played at a prom one day!” I said, hopeful.
“Our music dream could come true!” Calum said.
We all got excited. Then a slow song came on, and the DJ said it would be the last song. Calum and I went on the dance floor. We slow danced. I had my head on his shoulder, and we moved back and forth to the music.
I realized when the song ended and I brought my head back up that almost everyone had made a circle around us. We were the stars of the night. And we earned it.
“Want to come back to my place?” Calum asked.
“Yes.” I said.
Notes
If one person looks at the picture differently even for a second this will have been a complete and total success.
