Icing on the Cake
Chapter One Hundred Ten
~110~
Sitting at the restaurant, waiting for Ashton to show up made this felt like the bajillionth time we had done this. There was so much anxiety that came along with it, a big part of me just wanted to get up and walk away.
“Can I get you started with some drinks?” The waitress asked us.
“I’ll have an iced tea.” Calum said.
“Same for me.” I said. “But make mine a Long Island.”
“I’ll need to see an ID please.” The waitress asked. I pulled out my driver’s license and handed it to her.
“Oh my God!” She said, looking at my ID and then looking intently at my face. “Are you the Luke Hemmings?”
“Yeah.” I said, almost ashamed for some reason.
“Oh my God and you’re Calum Hood!” She said, pointing to Calum.
“Yep.” Calum responded, trying to sound peppy but clearly annoyed.
“It was so mean that those producers broke you guys up because of you being gay.” The waitress said, loudly.
“Yeah, it really is.” Ashton said, walking up from behind her.
“Oh my God.” The waitress said, startled that someone was behind her. When she saw it was Ashton, she started freaking out some more. “OH MY GOD YOU’RE ASHTON IRWIN!”
After she had her little spaz, she asked Ashton what he wanted to drink. After ordering, the waitress started walking away, still in a daze.
“Excuse me.” I said to her, trying to be polite as possible. “Could I get my ID back?”
