Six Months into Tour: Bangladesh, Thailand

Harry still has not told the boys about the cancer being back. I can tell he’s getting worse too. Niall has asked me twice already if I know what is going on with him and I lie telling him no. Today we are in Thailand, Bangladesh to be exact. All of the boys are with their trainers this morning except for Harry. After Niall leaves with Mark I go down the hall to Harry’s room, I knock on the door and get a muffled “Come In.” I walk in to find Harry hoovering over the sink looking very pale.

“Are you alright Haz?” I ask

“Just a stomach bug I’m sure” he tells me

I look at him sternly one eyebrow cocked.

“You and I both know what it is Harry. You’re getting sicker” I tell him as he climbs back into bed.

“Harry you need to tell them… like today. You need to start treatment before things get really bad and Niall is starting to ask questions”

“Ok..ok I’ll tell them at dinner tonight” Harry says

I hug him and make sure he is alright before I leave again. when I go back to the room I can see the kids are still sleeping. I can also hear the shower running, is Niall back already I ask myself.

“Niall?” I call into the bathroom

“Yeah babe it’s me, we got done early today” he answered

I go in and sit on the toilet seat, I need to talk to him before the kids wake up.

“Niall can I tell you something?”

“Yeah love, what’s up?” he asks

“Um, you know how Harry hasn’t been feeling very well lately?” I say

“Yes, go on”

“Well… his.. his cancer is back, and it has spread to his liver and kidneys” I say slowly

Niall pulls back the shower curtain and looks at me with wide eyes.

“What? How do you know?”

“He told me… four months ago. He’s scared Ni. He doesn’t want any of you to worry about him. He’s telling everyone tonight” I ramble on.

Niall grabs me and embraces me into a tight hug. I can feel hot tears rolling down my face.
“It’s alright love don’t cry” Niall tells me stroking my hair and kissing my cheek.

Once Niall and I are both ready we get the kids up so we can do some sightseeing. It takes nearly all day to see everything. We get back to the room around 4:00pm so we lie the kids down for a bit. Niall climbs into bed between the girls putting on the movie UP. It’s not but ten minutes and all of them are out like lights. I decide to go check on Harry. Before knocking on the door I listen because I can hear him playing his guitar and singing.

“For your eyes only, I show you my heart.”

He has the voice of an angel. I knock on the door and walk in. I see Harry sitting on the couch with an open notebook on the table.

“What are you doing? Feeling better?” I ask

“I feel ok and I just finished writing this song” Harry says

“I heard some of it and it sounds beautiful.” I tell him

“It’s written for a very special girl, the most beautiful girl I’ve ever known” he tells me

“Wow she seems like a lucky girl”

“Yes you are Cassie” he grins at me, his beautiful green eyes staring through my soul

Harry wrote this song for me? Why would he write a song for me? I ask myself

“You’re important to me Cassie and I will always love you no matter what.” Harry says

“Harry I… I don’t know what to say… can I hear the rest?” I ask struggling to get the words out.

“Of course” he whispers as he starts to play.

Harry trails off tears in his eyes.

“Harry” I gasp “It’s b..beautiful. I absolutely love it” I say tears on my own eyes.

There is a loud bang on the door before Zayn, Louis and Liam come in.

“Hi’ya guys what’s goin on” Louis says

“I was just showing Cassie the new song I wrote.”

“Oh sweet, what’s it called?” asks Liam

“If I Could Fly. It’s about a very special person” Harry tells them

After we visit for a bit Harry, Zayn and Liam head downstairs while Louis and I go to gather our posse. Before everyone started to eat Harry made his announcement.

The boys were very concerned for him and wish he would have told them sooner. Tomorrow Harry will be visiting with the oncologist to make a plan for treatment. Until then we wait.
