Chapter 79

"I want my child. That whore is keeping my little girl hostage." Charles sneered at me as I approached him.
"Don't you ever call her that, ever again. There's nothing wrong with Enola and you know it." I stated lowly. I wasn't wanting to draw attention to the situation. "Get out of my home. You're not welcome here." I warned quietly. I did not want a spectacle, not on Enola's birthday.
Charles smirked a little, "Isn't that funny? I'm not welcome in this house but you sure were welcome in mine." I tensed a bit. I wasn't going to take his shit.
"Shut your mouth, Charles." I said grinding my teeth.
"I want my daughter, Harry. Give me my daughter. You give me my child and you and your whore can go about fucking on every surface until she decides that she's bored again. Give me the girl." Charles stated firmly.
I lost my temper, "Absolutely not! Get the fuck out of my house!" Enola's dad came over and grabbed my arm, trying to pull me away from Charles. I was going to hit him.
"Harry, stop it. Calm down." Lochlan murmured.
"No! Get your hands off me!" I shouted pulling away from him. I got in Charles' face, "Get out of my house. Get out of our lives. You're not married to her anymore and that child is not yours. You have no business being here."
"That child is mine. I was married to her." Charles was nearly snarling at me.
"Leave. Before we call the authorities." Louis' threatening voice was actually quite unsettling. I'd heard it before but not in a serious way. Charles shook his head and pushed me out of the way. He went for Enola and Darcy. As I regained my balance, I dashed for him. Paddy, Dale and Preston got between Charles and my girls before he could get to them. I asked our security men to take Charles into the house. Louis had called the police and they were on their way. I wanted to make sure that he wouldn't come around anymore. Paddy, Dale and Preston did as asked and led Charles into the house, holding his arms tightly. I looked at Enola to see she was pale with fear. I sighed heavily and went to her.
I wrapped my arms around her securely, "I'm sorry, baby. I'm so sorry." She held me loosely; her hold on Darcy was much tighter.
"Daddy, what's going on?" Darcy inquired. She was obviously annoyed.
I looked at her lovingly, "You know Daddy loves you, right?" She nodded. "And you know that Daddy won't ever let anything bad happen to you." Darcy nodded again. "Okay, come on. You and Mummy need to come into the house with me."
"No. No. No." Enola looked even more scared. I knew she didn't want Charles to even look at Darcy but I didn't want our issues handled in front of everyone.
I calmed her slightly, "Enola, we have to go inside. Preston and Paddy are in the house he's not going to touch you." She gazed at me like a cornered animal. "Baby, let everyone else go about the party. We need to handle this out of everyone's view, okay?" Enola reluctantly agreed after looking to my step dad for guidance. She followed me into our house slowly, not ready to face Charles.

I sat Enola and Darcy down on the sofa. Dale, Paddy and Preston stood right close to them, glaring at Charles. I sat down with them, holding Enola's hand as tightly as she wanted me to. Louis stood in the corner of the room with Niall. They looked pissed as ever. Darcy stared at Charles curiously.
"Hi there sweetie." Charles spoke sweetly to her. I rolled my eyes. "Is there something you want to say?" Charles asked Darcy gently.
"Who are you?" Darcy asked leaning forward a bit.
"Well, love, I am your daddy." Charles stated.
Darcy shook her head quickly, "No. You're not." Charles glared at Enola. "That's my daddy." Darcy pointed to me. Charles' glare got meaner.
"But how do you know?" Charles asked of Darcy.
"Because, you're eyes are too mean to be a daddy. And Mummy doesn't like you much. And my daddy makes me feel happy and warm." Darcy explained.
Charles lifted his eyebrow at her, "And I make you feel?"
"Mad. You made my Mummy cry and my Daddy say naughty words. I don't like you." Darcy stated bluntly. Darcy looked up at me, "Make him leave, Daddy."
"I will, babygirl. Just hold on a few minutes, okay?" I smiled. Darcy nodded then let me kiss her forehead. She leaned into Enola's chest to comfort her mother. Darcy looked up at Enola's face and frowned deeply. Silent tears were streaming down Enola's face as she hugged Darcy tightly. Darcy maneuvered herself so she was straddling Enola. Darcy wrapped her arms around her mother's neck and rested her head on Enola's shoulder.
"It's okay, Mummy. Daddy will make everything alright." Darcy whispered to Enola. I sighed heavily as I looked at my girls. I hated that Enola was so scared and that Darcy felt the need to reassure her.
"Well, you sure do have that little one fooled, don't you?" Charles spoke with a condescending tone to Enola. Enola just turned her eyes away. "Well, you've got a knack for making people believe what they want. I've gotta say. I didn't really expect you to come crawling back to him. But I guess, what's a girl to do when she wants a man to take care of her?" Charles chuckled meanly.
"Hey, you don't get to speak to her." I chimed in quickly. Charles glared at me then sat quietly for a moment.
"You think, that the boy actually loves you?" Charles asked Enola. My anger flared. I told him to stay quiet. Enola didn't reply. "He can't you know that, right? You're not the woman you used to be. Well, not physically anyway. He's only with you because you tricked him into thinking that child is his. He's not the sexually charged boy who wants the tortured artist anymore. He's the boy who got tricked into fatherhood." Charles sneered at Enola.
"Hey, I said you don't get to talk to her. Shut your damn mouth!" I snapped at Charles. He was pissing me off. I loved Enola, with all of my heart. I knew that becoming a mother changed her body but she still felt the same to me. I still loved every inch of her body but I loved her heart and her mind more.
"Daddy." Darcy whimpered softly. She hated it when I raised my voice. It didn't happen often but when it did, she knew I was angry.
"I'm sorry, babygirl. I'm sorry." I murmured kissing her forehead again. I gazed at Enola's face. She was crying harder now. I kissed her temple gently and squeezed her hand tighter. "Don't let me go." I whispered in her ear. She didn't move or say a word. She just clung to Darcy. Terrified and humiliated. I then noticed the way Niall and Louis were looking at Charles. They were almost as close to tearing him apart as I was. Granted I'd tried a few years ago but I didn't stand a chance. I was also drunk that night. I was now sober and my work outs had been more intense. I could take him. I could knock him on his ass if I really tried. But I didn't want to do that in front of Darcy. She should never think that fighting is the way to solve a problem. Suddenly, I was snapped out of my thoughts by a loud knock on the front door. "Ni, Louis, can you?" I asked politely. They nodded and stalked off to the front door. Within a few more moments, police officers were in my home.

Charles glared at me as I filled out a report with a police officer for harassment. I went up to my bedroom for a moment to get Enola's old phone. I showed the officers the harassing and threatening text messages and voicemails he's been leaving for her.
"Mr. Styles, Mr. Gunther states that the little girl is his child. If she is, by law, you and Miss Grace have to let him see her." The officer, a younger man with the name Baum on his tag, informed me. Charles smirked and folded his arms over his chest.
I shook my head, "It's not his child. It's my daughter."
"Do you have any proof that she is yours? Birth certificate or anything of the sort?" He inquired. I nodded and left the room once again. Charles face dropped a bit. I kept my smirk to myself when I noticed how terrified he looked. After a few moments I returned to see Enola's mother standing in the room next to Enola. Enola was trying to get away from her but the only place to go was closer to Charles. "Enola, come here, baby." I stated quietly when I got near the officer. Enola quickly scooted from between her mother and Charles. I put my arm over her shoulders as I handed the papers to the officer. "The top is obviously her birth certificate. The second is the DNA test Miss Grace requested because of Mr Gunther." I explained to the officer. He nodded and looked over the documents.
"What is this?" The officer asked holding up the third group of papers in his hand.
"Is a letter from the doctor that took the DNA test. All it's saying is that he personally over saw every step of the process because of who I am." I replied quietly. The officer nodded and read silently. I kissed Enola's forehead and pulled her closer. She seemed so far away. I hated it. I didn't want to have to break down walls again. I could tell by the way she wasn't responding to me, she was busy building all of her walls back up. "I love you, Enola Grace. Nothing is ever going to change that. You are like the blood in my veins. I need you." I whispered in her ear. She leaned into me quickly, burying her face in my neck. I kissed her forehead then smiled at Darcy.
"Daddy, I don't like that man. Make him go away." Darcy whispered about Charles.
"That's why the officer is here, babygirl." I replied gently. Darcy nodded and watched the officer with curious eyes. I smiled a bit and smoothed her hair. I loved how inquisitive she was. Everything was always a mystery to her and she had to figure it out.
"Alright, Mr Styles, what would you and Miss Grace like to do at this point?" The officer asked politely.
"I want a protection order. I don't want him anywhere near my wife or my daughter. I'm done with this. Enola is scared all the time and I don't want anything that maniac does to effect my daughter." I answered quickly.
"Maniac. She's keeping my child from me! I have every right to be manic!" Charles shouted making both Enola and Darcy flinch. I glared at him and pulled them closer.
"The little girl is not yours, Mr Gunther. The child is Mr. Styles'." The officer informed him. Charles stomped over. Enola quickly hid behind me, hugging Darcy closer to her chest. The officer handed the papers to Charles. As Charles read the documents, I could see the rage building within him.
"Noli, get out of the room. I want you to go upstairs." I murmured seeing Charles face turning red. He was going to lose it. I didn't want him taking it out on either of my girls. Enola looked up at me completely terrified. Charles then threw the papers to the ground and grabbed Enola by the arm, jerking her forward.
"You stupid fucking whore! You made a fool out of me!" Charles screamed in her face. Enola flinched as did Darcy. Darcy buried her face in Enola's neck. I jumped forward and tried to push Charles away. He pushed back. I shoved him again, making him stumble back toward the officer. I tried to contain my own rage as he threatened her and grabbed her arm again, "I swear to God, I will kill you for what you've done! Because of you I've lost everything! I've got no one behind me anymore because you took me for ride!" Charles lifted his hand to hit Enola.
"That's enough!" The officer said pulling Charles from Enola. The officer held Charles' hands behind his back. Within seconds, Charles was arrested for assault and threatening her life.

The officer hauled Charles out, but not before telling me that I could come to the station at anytime to fill out a request for a protection order. I thanked the officer then let him leave with Charles in cuffs.
"Exactly where that fuckin' cunt belongs." Niall muttered quietly. I sighed heavily and turned to Enola. She was shaking and trying to hold herself together.
"Darcy, do you want to go play now?" I asked gently. She had missed Freddie quite a bit and I wanted Enola alone.
Darcy looked to Enola, "Can I go play with Freddie?"
Enola nodded and smiled as best she could, "Of course, baby. Go have some fun." Enola set Darcy down. Darcy ran for the backyard quickly. I felt a bit of relief when she disappeared from sight.
"Enola, are you..." Gianna began. Enola held her hand up to her mother, silencing her instantly. Enola went and sat down on the sofa. I could tell that she was trying to hold herself together. She rarely let anyone see her cry or act unlike herself in anyway. Niall and Louis had never seen her come undone before. Yes, they'd seen her weep and all but they'd never seen what was really lying underneath. She was a volcano.
"Hey, everything is okay now. Why don't you guys go back out to the party? We're just going to talk about going to the station tomorrow." I said trying to get everyone out of the room so Enola could breathe. Paddy and Preston agreed, quickly leaving the room. Dale gave me one more questioning look. When I reassured him, he walked out.
"No. I want to stay with my daughter. She is obviously upset." Gianna grunted at me.
"I very much dislike being rude but this is your fault. You should've been a parent and told her no when she asked you to sign that damn paper. You should've have been the mother that looked out for her child instead of pushing her at someone who didn't really give a damn about her but you gave a damn about their money. I'd really like for you to leave us alone for right now." I stated quickly. Gianna looked extremely surprised and walked out of the room. I sighed heavily when I noticed the way Louis and Niall were looking at me. "Go ahead guys. Someone has to keep an eye on Darcy. I'd prefer it were you two." I said trying my hardest to get them out. Louis and Niall both nodded before kissing Enola's cheek.

I knelt in front of Enola. She had been staring at a spot on the floor trying to hold on to her emotions. I placed a hand on her thigh to get her attention. It didn't really work.
"Hey, baby, we're alone. Wanna talk?" I murmured. Enola didn't say anything. She burst into hysterical sobs. She couldn't breathe she was crying so hard. "Noli, calm down, baby. It'll be alright. I'm here. Nothing is going to happen to you." I stated as she wrapped her arms around my neck and held me tightly. I pulled her closer and squeezed her as hard as I could. "Nothing is going to happen, baby. He's gone and he can't come back. He's never going to bother you again." I assured her quietly. "It's going to be just us from now on. You and me and our baby." I wanted her to stop crying so badly. I hated seeing her the way she was.
"I don't deserve you. You're too good of a man for this. I should've just walked away and stayed away." Enola murmured against my shoulder.
I pulled away quickly, "What?" She sighed heavily and refused to look at me. "Never in a million years would it be a good idea for us to be apart. I love you. I love our daughter. I would deal with these things a hundred times a day just so I can crawl in bed with you at night. I don't want anything else. I don't want anyone else. This is my life. I chose it." I didn't want to scare her more but her words stung.
"Harry, you're..." She began.
"No!" I snapped. "You're not leaving me again. You can't. I need you. I am not myself without you. I need Darcy. You can't put her in my life then rip her out. You can't let her get to know me then rip me out of her life. I will deal with Charles. I will deal with all of the media. Don't leave. Please don't leave." I begged her. Enola's eyes saddened so much more as tears fell down my cheeks.
"I'm not going anywhere, Harry." Enola spoke gently. I kissed her hard. I wanted her to feel how much I needed her. I molded my lips to her strongly, feeling every inch of her mouth with my own. "I'm not going anywhere, baby." Enola breathed against my lips.
"I can't live without you. I've tried. I can't do it. I won't do it." I stated firmly. Enola just pulled my mouth back to hers. I slid my hands under her thighs to move her body closer to mine. I carefully laid her down on the sofa then crawled between her legs. I laid my chest on hers so she could feel how hard and fast I was breathing, something caused by just being close to her. Slowly, I moved my hand onto her bare skin under her floral blouse.
"Harry." Enola moaned softly. I grunted in response. "Baby, we can't. Not right now. Not right here." She gasped as I kissed down her neck.
I gazed into her eyes seriously, "Say it again. Promise me that you'll never leave me."
"I promise. I will never leave you, Harry." She spoke weakly. "I will love you until the last star burns out." She added after a moment.

Enola and I walked back out to the party. She smiled when she saw Darcy and Freddie running around and laughing at each other. I had to smile as well. I loved the look of pure joy on my daughter's face.
"She's so beautiful. More than anything I could've dreamed of." I whispered to Enola. Enola blushed and buried her face in my neck. "Really. We did good with her." I chuckled against her cheek. Enola shook her head then lifted her head. She kissed my lips tenderly. "I love you." I stated sweetly, love filling my eyes.
"I love you, Bear." She replied quietly. I walked her over to the bar we had put in; all of the boys were hanging out there. Sophia rushed to Enola's side. Sophia kissed Enola's cheek gently and wrapped her in a tight hug. Sophia then whispered something to Enola. Enola grinned at Sophia, "I know, honey. I'll be just fine." Sophia nodded slowly and squeezed Enola one more time.

The boys and I had only had Enola's mind off of Charles for a few minutes before another monkey wrench got thrown into her day. My heart was pounding in my chest and I didn't know what to do. Louis looked at me just as shocked. I cleared my throat and tried not to pay attention to the possible last straw. Enola quickly noticed the change in me.
"Harry." She murmured, her voice having a bit of a warning tone.
I smiled warmly at her, "Yeah babe?"
"What's wrong with you?" She inquired quietly. I shook my head, acting like I had no idea what she was talking about. She lifted her eyebrow at me, not believing me a single bit. I sighed heavily and motioned to the doorway near my mother. Enola turned her head. I heard her grunt and the expression on her face showed how displeased she was. Enola snapped her head back to me. She grabbed the front of my shirt, pulling me a little closer. "Harry." She spoke with that soft tone that made me melt. "Who are you with?" She inquired.
"You." I replied. I didn't get why she was asking.
"Who do you make love to every night?" Enola asked with that same soft voice.
"You." I answered, still not understanding her.
"Whom do you have a beautiful baby girl with?" Enola asked.
I looked at her like she was crazy, "You."
"Who are you coming home to at night?" Enola inquired one last time.
I smiled brightly, "You and our baby."
"Exactly." Enola grinned. "If you never plan on changing those things, then there is no reason for that girl to effect your mood." Enola spoke calmly.
"But it's your birthday and you've had enough." I replied before kissing her forehead. "I'll make her leave. I'm sorry." I then tried to walk away but Enola stopped me.
"It's okay, Bear. I'll handle it." Enola slid off her bar stool and made her way over to Aubrey. I looked at Niall and Louis with fearful eyes. Was Enola going to get mad and start yelling? Would Aubrey try to strike Enola? There was so much uncertainty.
