Chapter 62

Enola sat beside me silently at the table in the reception hall. My sister was nice enough to place Enola and I with all of the boys, Brynn, Sophia and Perrie. It felt like old times even though Aubrey was there. I could tell Aubrey was uncomfortable and Enola was the main reason. They weren't getting along at all. They wouldn't speak to each other. They wouldn't even look at each other. It's like they didn't exist in each others worlds.
Darcy jumped down from her chair then tugged on my arm. I smiled at her and picked her up. I sat her in my lap and she leaned back into my chest. She was getting sleepy.
"Hey Darcy, wanna play a game with me?" Aubrey asked trying to keep my lethargic child occupied. I smiled liking the gesture. Enola tensed quickly.
"Darc, I'm gonna get more cake. Do you want more cake?" Zayn inquired standing up.
"Ooooh cake!" Darcy hopped off my lap and went to Zayn. She looked at Enola and I, "Can I have cake?"
Enola nodded, "That's fine, honey." Enola glanced up at Zayn, "Small piece. She really doesn't need a sugar buzz." Zayn nodded then took Darcy's hand. As they walked away I glared at Enola.
"Thanks for asking me." I snipped at her.
Enola rolled her eyes, "It's a special occasion. Who cares if she eats a small second piece. After tonight she's going right back to eating the way she always does. She never eats junk. She won't want to because she's going to have an upset stomach probably."
"Still could've glanced at me." I mumbled.
"Don't, Harry." She sighed heavily. I folded my arms over my chest and stared off into the distance until Darcy came back to me. She sat in my lap happily while she ate her cake.
Everyone at our table smirked at each other. We all glanced over to my family's table and my sister, all of them smirking as well. I cleared my throat and leaned back in my chair. Our first single was being played on the sound system. Darcy was out on the dance floor with the other little kids. All of them were dancing joyfully to the song. Darcy didn't realize what it was yet. As the bridge kicked in we all laughed loudly. Once the chorus began, all of us began singing along. "Baby you light up my world like nobody else! The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed! But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell you don't know you don't know you're beautiful!" I glanced over at Enola. The song was her at the moment. She really didn't see how beautiful and sexy she was. I was dying from the way she looked in her dress. She wore a lavender silk dress that flowed around her but moved with her like a second skin. It was very similar to the one that she wore to her gallery opening. I wanted to take her home and prove to her that I meant every word I said to my sister and Nick. As my solo came up I leaned over and whispered the words to Enola. She blushed and hit me in the chest gently. I looked over to see a mixed reaction on our friends' faces. I shrugged it off.

"Hey, Aubrey, wanna dance?" I asked her with a smile. She nodded happily and followed me out to the dance floor. As I looked back, Enola looked majorly pissed off. I smiled at Aubrey as she placed her hands on my shoulders and let me lead her to the music. "Are you having fun?" I asked her softly.
She nodded, "I am." She looked back at the table, "I don't think your ex likes me very much. She won't talk to me and she finds something else for Darcy to do if I ask her to play."
I sighed, "Yeah, she's very protective of Darcy. It's just because she's a mum. Family and the guys are the only people she lets Darcy go with freely." I knew it was just Aubrey Enola was leaving out but I didn't want Aubrey to feel even worse about it. Enola thought Aubrey was trying to date me and she didn't want Darcy caught up in it. "Once Noli gets used to you it'll be different. She's been through a lot and its not easy for her to let new people into Darcy's life." I explained a real problem Enola had, but again, it didn't apply to Aubrey. Aubrey nodded and changed the topic. We talked about how beautiful Gemma looked and how wonderful the things I told my sister and Nick were.

Enola looked exhausted as she sat with Darcy in her lap. I smiled when I heard a song that she liked come over the sound system. Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon. She loved the band. She smiled when she heard the song.
"Dance with me, baby." I smiled at her.
She shook head, "Oh no."
I stood and took her hand, "Come on. You love this song." Enola set Darcy in Louis' lap then we ran out to the dance floor. Enola smirked as we both started to move to the music. She looked insanely happy as the beat moved through her body. She threw her arms in the air as the chorus began. She swung her hips in a playful manner. I laughed and danced right along with her, letting her energy lead me along. She was amazing to be around when she was so happy and playful. She wrapped her arms around my neck as the music slowed a bit. I sang along with the song as I stared into her eyes. She giggled and sang right back to me. It made me think of the night we met and we danced and sang to each other in the club near where she was staying. I saw that woman in her eyes as she slid her hand down my chest then pushed away from me. She moved her hips and legs in a way that I'd never seen anyone else do before. She was filling my senses in the most humbling of ways. She was the definition of beauty and artistry, one of the universe's most astounding creations. Enola landed in my arms again as the song was coming to a close. As the music stopped, I took her by her neck and dipped her quickly. She stared up at me with a bright smile.
She bit her lip, "Don't let me go." My heart warmed instantly and I knew my eyes showed everything I was feeling as Enola wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled herself up. I placed my hand in the small of her back as she stood upright. I leaned forward to kiss her but we were once again interrupted. My mother and Robin came over with Darcy.
"Mummy! Daddy!" Darcy shouted happily. Enola and I separated nervously. I scratched the back of my neck when I noticed how my mother was looking at me. She was smirking but she also looked a little miffed with me. "Mummy, can I go with Grammy and Pops?" Darcy asked Enola with a smile. Enola looked up at me with questioning eyes.
I lifted my eyebrow at her, "What? I don't care. She's with my mum."
"Well after the cake incident..." Enola mumbled.
"I'm okay with it. Ask Mummy." I told Darcy. She looked at Enola with pleading eyes.
Enola sighed quietly, "Yes, that's fine, honey."
My mum turned to Enola as well, "Can we get the car seat and a set of keys to the house?"
"Oh, I can just go back to the house with you." Enola offered quietly. I looked over to see the boys speaking to Aubrey, the table looked really tense. I couldn't see Aubrey's face but everyone else had a mixed emotion expression. I shrugged it off and turned my attention to Enola when she said my name. "I am going to go home and get things for Darcy to go with your mom. I'll see you in the morning?" She inquired.
I looked at her with a furrowed brow, "In the morning?"
She shrugged, "I don't know when you're going to be home."
"I'll be home tonight." I stated not liking what she was implying. Enola sighed heavily and looked at my mother sadly. I turned my head when I heard a song I knew all too well. I grabbed Enola's hand, "Dance with me one more time before you go."
"Harry, your mum is ready to go." Enola stated quietly. I could see the hesitation in her eyes. She didn't want to remember.
I smiled at my mum, "You can take Darcy to say goodbye to everyone and get the car seat from my car right?" My mother nodded with a smile, seeing what it meant to me. I pulled Enola back onto the dance floor. I rested my hands on her hips and she placed her hands on my shoulders. It was our song: Never Stop by Safetysuit. The one we made love to all night when I went to see her in LA. We did the same thing when we were in Paris. I sang along softly. Enola bit her lip and wrapped her arms around my neck. As I kept singing along with the song, I wound my arms around her waist. I rested my cheek against her temple. I could feel her heart racing and her hands starting to shake. I wanted to know what she was thinking. I felt a tear hit my bare skin as Enola dropped her head. She unwound from me quickly. Tears were streaming down her face as she walked away without looking into my eyes. She wiped her face as she made her way to my mother and Robin. I knew that I had gotten my point across to her. She knew that I was still as in love with her as I was before we had Darcy. I knew that she loved me too. The way she reacted to the song and me singing proved it. Why couldn't she just admit it? Hopefully, I would be able to talk to her when I got home. As I watched her walk toward my mother's car, I decided that I couldn't wait until later.
