1 & ½ Weeks Later
1:43 a.m.
Niall’s POV
‘’Baby… you okay?’’ I mumble as I put my hand on Jana’s back. She was sitting up in bed, her hand on her forehead. ‘’I.. I dunno.’’ She sighs a little. I lean up and slide my arm around her back, my hand on her waist.
‘’Are you cramping?’’ I ask. ‘’I.. I don’t really know. I.. can’t really explain it.’’ She says. The room was dark so I couldn’t really see anything. ‘’Do you think.. it’s the baby?’’ I say, hoping it wasn’t just yet.
‘’I.. it might be.’’ She sighs lightly. ‘’Are you like.. hurting down there?’’ I ask, leaning my head on her shoulder, I hope she’s okay. ‘’A little.. but it always hurts.. so I don’t know.’’ She mumbles.
‘’Do you want to go to the hospital, just in case?’’ I ask her. ‘’I.. I think I’ll be okay. I just have to use the bathroom, I think?’’ She sighs as I lean off her shoulder so she can get up. She takes her time, which was a good thing. She didn’t need to strain.
‘’You want me to come in there with you, baby?’’ I ask her as she slowly makes her way to the bathroom door. ‘’No.. I.. I’ll be okay.’’ She says as she goes in the bathroom and shuts the door behind her.
I was worried sick. I was just completely afraid that something might happen to her, or to my baby. Or that my baby was coming now, at this time. Honestly I wasn’t ready to for him just yet. The due date is in a few days, so why can’t he just wait a little longer. I hope he decides to.
Despite what Jana told me, I decided to get out of the bed. My feet literally just touched the ground as the door swung open. I look up to see Jana standing in the door way, her hand on her stomach.
Pregnant or not, she didn’t take care of her business that quickly. Something’s up. ‘’Baby? You okay?’’ I ask as I hurry over to her, putting my hands on her cheeks so that she would look straight at me, and not try to avoid my gaze.
‘’Jana? Babe?’’ I mumble, trying to get her to speak. She gulps lightly and suddenly just smiles, and then her hands grab my biceps and grip them tight. ‘’What?” I ask, a smile on my face.
“My water broke.’’ She whispers. ‘’The baby’s coming?’’ I say. ‘’Yes! Oh my god! Yes!’’ She squeals happily. ‘’The baby!’’ I smile. ‘’Niall!’’ Jana’s entire facial expression changes from excited into fright. ‘’What?’’ I ask, furrowing my eyebrows at her a little.
‘’The baby!’’ She yells. And then it clicks in my brain, ‘’Oh shit! The baby’s coming!’’
“Niall! Drive fucking faster!’’ Jana yells at the top of her lungs. ‘’I’m trying baby, I’m trying.’’ I say, staring at he road and just simply trying to hurry without breaking the speed limit.
Harry and Selena were going to be in the ER waiting, they lived a little closer to the hospital I was taking her too so that was a good thing. Besides we need some one to watch the kids because we didn’t plan for this to happen today.
The doctor said that the baby would come either the day before, on, or after his due date. ITS FOUR DAYS BEFORE HIS DUE DATE. No one was aware of this. My mother still doesn’t know, I plan to call her soon though.
She was going to fly over two days from now but it’s a little too late for that, but I’m sure she’ll still come, especially now that the baby’s coming. ‘’Daddy! Is Mommy okay?’’ Tori asks from the backseat of the car, I was in Jana’s car because the SUV was blocked in and I didn’t feel like moving the other car to get it out, and plus Jana was on the front steps screaming for me to hurry up, so yeah.
‘’Yes baby, please be quiet though.’’ I say as I glance in the rear view mirror at her. She just nods and I sigh, at least she’s cooperating with this. I take a deep breath and exhale, I do that a few times. Hell I was acting like the pregnant one now.
‘’Niall.. I love you so much.. but I’ll fucking kill you if you don’t hurry up!’’ Jana yells in pain. ‘’I know baby, I’m trying. Just breath slowly and calm down some.’’ I say as I reach over and grab her hand.
Worst mistake.
She squeezes the life out of my poor hand, turning my skin white as damn snow from all her pressure. ‘’We’re not too far, baby.’’ I say as I realize where we were at. My heart was racing like a motherfucker and my mind was blown up, I couldn’t even think of anything at the moment.
Poor Taylor fell asleep in the car seat, Tori’s struggling to keep her eyes open, I’m trying to keep focus on the road, and Jana, well.. she’s just trying to stay alive. I know she’s in pain, and I hate it for her. But I can’t do anything about it just yet. And I can’t break the law just because she threatens me, well.. not in this case.
‘Cause if I drove faster we might have a wreck and more serious things could happen than just the baby not taking his time, you know? I wasn’t going to risk my family’s lives just to get to the hospital that was like a mile and a half away now.
