Persecute

Keona's POV

As Zayn and I walked down the hallways, people stared and whispered. It was too obvious that it was about me, but this time it hurt more then usual.

Did you hear that she tried to kill herself?

It was because Harry doesn't like her back, how pathetic.

Not like anyone would miss her. What a freak.

Tears formed in my eyes, but I forced myself not to cry. Zayn took notice and held my hand and smiled. Then more people began to whisper.

Are they dating now?

Why would Zayn date someone like her?

He deserves way better.

"Shut up!" Someone said, but then I realized that it was my own voice that said that.

Everyone went silent and stared at me. My cheeks flushed, I cannot believe I just did that.

"C'mon, let's go to your locker and go to class." Zayn said.

We went to my locker and got my things and we were walking down the hall. Then Zayn stopped walking, I looked up and saw that Adriana and Mishella were glaring at us.

Adriana walked up to us, "So are you two a thing now?"

"No." I squeaked.

"Even if we were why would it matter?" Zayn asked.

Adriana rolled her eyes, "Nevermind." She looked at me and smirked, "So is it true?"

"Is what true?" I asked playing dumb, even though I knew what she meant.

"That you tried to kill yourself." She said it with no pity whatsoever.

I cleared my throat and spoke a little louder, "Why do you care? Are you just going to tell me that I deserve to die?"

She looked a little taken back at me asking her a question. "Yeah because it's the truth. Why are you even here Keona? Don't you see, no one likes you. Everyone here hates you."

Zayn let go of my hand and stepped closer to her, "I like her, I care for her. No one cares for a bitch like you. You're pretty damn lucky you're a girl because if you weren't, I'd beat the shit outta you."

Mishella scoffed, "Are you threatening her, Zayn?"

"No, I'm not. I'm telling her that she needs to stop." He turned around and grabbed my hand, "Let's go, you shouldn't be around them. You don't want to get a disease."

I giggled as we walked away. I looked over my shoulder and saw Adriana glaring and storming away.

Today wasn't so bad, the morning was a little upsetting. Zayn stayed by my side all day so no one messed with me. I can really trust him now, it's safe to call him my best friend or a brother.

I was in my room doing some homework and listening to background music.

Then there was a knock on my door, it was Mrs. A, "I have some news for you."

"Uhm, okay what is it?"

She sighed, "You're moving to another home."

I was silent, no I can't move. I just made a friend, I can't leave now. "How far is it?"

"Just about five minutes away. They're a really nice family that's willing to take care of you until you graduate." She told me, "So you aren't moving schools or anything. Now pack up you leave tomorrow morning."

I nodded and she walked out and closed the door. I don't have very many things, so I could fit everything in a suitcase and a backpack.

After about 30 minutes, I was done packing. I just left out an outfit for school tomorrow. I remembered that I should tell Zayn so he doesn't walk over here and find out I don't live here.

I grabbed my phone and texted him.

Keona: Guess what.

Zayn: I don't feel like guessing what?"

Keona: I'm moving.

I thought it would be funny to scare him a little.

Zayn: ...oh.

Keona: Yeah I'm sorry. That means you'll have to drive five extra minutes...

Zayn: You fucking scared me Keona! That's not funny

Zayn: But I'm glad you're not going far because you're too cool to leave me.

Keona: You're the best. I'm going sleep night Xx

Zayn: Sweet dreams xx

I smiled and plugged my phone in. I put my hair up and put my sweats and and a sweater on. I lied down and my eyes felt heavy. Eventually I fell asleep.

I sprained my wrist in volleyball today :(
