Half a life

Hiya everyone, I can't believe this has 2k views, it's insane! Sorry for not updating, I just haven't been feeling exactly very happy at the mo but I'm feeling better today so here's the update. It's a bit of a filler but I've got loads of ideas for the next chapters so they should be up soon!



The blood pounding behind my ears seemed to slow at his words whilst the room began to tilt. Before I knew it my knees slammed into the hard floor, my body following them. The jolt knocked me back to reality and automatically cleared my head for me.
"You know what, no! I will not join you in America! You've never been much of a father, I've practically raised myself for the past 17 years, so why do I need you now?! Goodbye father" I seethed into the phone, not withholding an once of anger as I jammed my finger on to the decline button, preventing him from making some sarky comment.
A large pair of arms pulled me into their chest, the familiar scent of their aftershave identifying him as Niall. I returned the embrace, needing all of the comfort I could get after being disowned by my father. In that moment I decided to only tell them what I know they heard. That my father made me choose him or them and I chose them. I'd tell them nothing about my father cutting my money that pays for my part of the apartments rent nor how I'll have to work 24/7 to pay for it.
Slowly I pulled out of the comforting embrace, longing to remain in his arms but forcing myself out, ignoring the sinking feeling in my heart.
My eyes snapped open to see a circle of my friends. Em gnawing on her bottom lip, eyes darting across my face, studying it for a reaction, Louis' hands tapped against his thighs but his eyes were soft, sympathetic. Zayn, Harry and Liam's faces all held similar emotions but the one on Niall's simply broke my heart.
His bright blue orbs, wide and pleading with a slight watery glint to them, the corners of his soft lips, turned down in a small pout. His fair eyebrows furrowed together, cheeks red and tear stained. Noticing my studious gaze, he engulfed my small frame into another bone crushing hug, head burrowed in my neck as his body racked with sobs, "I'm sorry Nat, It's all my fault! If I didn't make you come with us this wouldn't have happened! I'm sorry!" he whimpered into my shoulder, wet liquid leaking into my shirt with every gasping breath he takes. I ran a soft hand along his back in an attempt to comfort him.
I quickly pulled back and cupped his cheek in my palm, forcing his eyes to make contact with mine.
"Don't you dare apologize for something I did, I chose to go with you, don't ever blame yourself for what I've done" I quietly whispered to him then planted a soft kiss to the tip of his nose and gave him a small smile.
I swiftly stood to my feet, dragging Niall along with me, flashing the boys and Em a large grin then exclaimed "Now lets finish the movie night!" I began to run towards the TV but was pulled from my feet and swung across someones shoulder before I could.
"MOVIES!!" the voice squealed, telling me it was Louis who's shoulder I adorned. This only caused to to begin giggling like a kid in a candy store earning chuckles from the rest.
"Give her back! She's my cuddle buddy!" a faux angry voice called, I twisted my head to see a pouting Niall.
Louis noticed also and quickly set me on my before whispering "Your man wants you" in my ear, his voice drenched in mischief. Heat immediately flooded my cheeks causing me to hide them with my palms.
I spent the rest of the night cuddled into Niall's side, hiding my face at any remotely scary parts whilst he chuckled at my reactions. Em was snuggled up in between Liam and Harry whilst Zayn and Louis were sprawled across the floor.
