Moving To England

Chapter Eight

*Density’s POV*
*Same day and time*

As I placed the heavy paint can on the ground, I realised that I have forgotten to bring up the paint brushes, paint tray and the old overalls.

'Good job, Destiny.' I thought to myself, sarcastically, 'That's exactly how you're going to paint, without the paint brushes.'

With a sigh, I raced back downstairs, not looked ahead. Halfway down, I crashed into Harry's chest, falling into his arms.

"Oopsie." I say immediately, my reflecting kicking in, "Sorry."

*Harry’s POV*

“It's alright. It's alright. Don't worry about it. Are you alright, though?” I asked, concerned, as I helped her back up.

“Yeah.” Destiny smiled, giggling lightly in pain. “My bad.” she chuckled.

“Why were you coming back down?” I asked.

“I need to get the paint brushes, tray and overalls.” She explained.

“Oh. Alright then, pass me some. I’ll help.” I offered.

“Okay.” Destiny smiled. “Take those.”

“Okay.” Laughing, I followed to where her finger was pointing and gathered the paint rollers and the paint tray, as Destiny scooped up the overalls. I followed her up to her room.

“Put these on.” Destiny threw me an overall, as I put don't the supplies, “Then after I dump some paint in that tray we can begin.”

“Certainly, boss.” I chuckled, slipping into the overalls, as Destiny followed.

I watched as she poured some paint into a large paint tray.

“Ready, boss.” I smiled at Destiny.

“Good. Take this.” Destiny said, throwing me a paint roller.

“Very well then … Boss.” I smirked, I could tell she was getting irritated by my little nickname for her.

"One more time, you call me 'Boss' and I swear, this room won't be the only thing that gets painted blue." Warning me, as she dipped her paint roller into the paint tray and threatened to paint me with it.

“Okay. Okay.” I laughed, keeping my distance from her and putting my hands in the air, along with the paintless paint roller.

“Good.” Destiny smiled proudly. “Shall we begin?”

“We shall!” I exclaimed. Destiny took one wall, while I took another and we began painting away. “So. Destiny?” I asked, thinking of a topic to bring up, “What brings you to England?”

“My dad,” Destiny smirked. I raised an eyebrow, and then she said, “My Grandfather. He left this house to my father. He grew up here. And so my Dad moved here, his doctoring job was transferred to here as well.”

“Wow, sweet grandfather you got there.” I smiled.

“Yeah … I never got to meet him, though.” Destiny quietly mumbled out.

“Oh. I am sorry. Uh …” I murmured, feeling stupid.

“Oh. No, it’s okay. It’s not your fault.” Destiny pointed out with a smile, I nodded.

“Did you want to come here?” I asked. "Like move her?"

'Probably was not the right question. She obviously misses her friends. Ugh. Why am I so stupid?' I thought.

“Yeah. A little bit. You know, for the adventure.” Destiny smiled, “Other than that, I really miss my friends.”

“Oh,” I said. ”I could give you the adventure, you’re looking for.”

'I did not mess up entirely.' I thought, proudly. 'Hold up, Harry. The heck do you care for? You're just trying to get this girl into bed and then ditching her. Don't be stupid now.'

“Yeah, I guess. That'd be nice.” Destiny smiled. “Tell me about you.”

“Oh. I am a closed book. Sorry, Hon." I chuckled.

“Seriously,” Destiny said, raising an eyebrow.

“Fine. I’ll give the bare minimum.” I said, “I have a girlfriend.”

“That’s cool. Name?” Destiny asked smiling.

“Amanda.” I said, “Do you have a boyfriend?”

'I am such a liar. Why did I say that? I'm not dating Amanda. It's sorta just a backup. Sheesh.' I thought.

“No.” Destiny simply answered.

'Wow? Really? I don’t believe it! What idiot wouldn't want to get with her!' I thought, utterly shocked.

“Oh and … my parents got divorced when I was seven, and now I live with my mum and my older sister Gemma,” I added.

“Aww. I sorry to hear that.” Destiny said genuinely feeling sorry for me.

“Mhmm.” I murmured, “It's fine. How about you parents, I have not since your mum yet.”

“Oh Mom she went to Spain, my grandma is sick” Destiny trailed off.

“Aw, I hope she gets better,” I said, Destiny only nodded silently.

“What else …?” Destiny thought out loud, she was trying to find something to ask me.

“Okay, How about you tell me your likes and dislikes,” I suggested.

“Well, for a starter, LOVE books.” Destiny smiled, slipping her paint roller into the paint tray.

“Just great!” I teased her, rolling my eyes, “We have a bookworm here!”

“Correction! You’ve got a PROUD bookworm here!” Destiny said, holding her head up high with a bright smile.

“How could you like those dictionaries?” I asked, disgusted.

“Dictionaries?!” Destiny questioned my choice of words, causing her to stop painting. We had finished 3 walls in an hour and only have bit part of the fourth wall to finish.

“Yeah, those big books you bookworms read. They look as big as dictionaries. Might as well read those instead.” I explained, putting my brush down as well.

“Books are not Dictionaries! Readers live thousands of lives before they die, while those who don’t read only live one. Books are like some portable to another world.” Destiny argued, quoting some big book quote.

'Cute, tiny, angry human. Sheesh.' I thought, looking at her argue with me.

“Oh really, how so? Books are boring.” I insisted. My intentions were now to annoy the crap out of her.

“Oh! You take that back, now!” Destiny exclaimed, furious with my insult towards books. “A room without books is like. It is like - like, a body without a soul! Books, they are a journey, they -.” I stopped Destiny from talking any further.

“Blah! Blah! Blah!” I plugged my ears, in an attempt to ignore her.

“Oh!” Destiny exclaimed, clearly offended, but with a smirk, she continued and said; “That’s how you want to play, I see.”

Then, Destiny did the unthinkable. She dipped her paint roller into the paint tray, and with a devious smirk, she smeared blue paint onto me.

“Oh, no you didn’t!” I say in a sassy voice, giving her a sly grin. “You should not have done that!” and with that, I dipped my paint roller into the paint and begun to smeared all over Destiny. We continuously covered one another with blue paint, laughing and giggling until we were both covered in blue paint from head to toe.

The part of the wall which hasn't been painted yet was completely covered from all the splashing Destiny, and I was doing.

Looking at one another, we burst into laughter. Dissolving into a puddle of laughter, I see Destiny clutch her stomach to hold in all the shaking it was doing, as she fought off a new gale of giggles.

“Dear God, we look like smurfs.” Destiny giggled.

'Goodness, her eyes. Why do they sparkle like that? She is such a happy child.' I think to myself, '

Her smile. It was a smile that just seems so genuinely sweet with just the right touch of shyness that unexpected warmth rushes through me. These feelings were so unknown and fearful to me I quickly brushed it off.

“Is this even washable?” Destiny asked, calming her laughter down. I went to check the paint can.

“Oh no!” I dramatically cried.

“What?” Destiny calmly asked.

“This is no good!” I cried again.

“What’s wrong?” Destiny asked again, becoming worried.

“Oh God! This is horrible!” I emotionally cried, groaning loudly and alarming Destiny.

“Harry! What’s wrong?! Tell me! Oh my goodness!” Destiny exclaimed in fear.

“This is absolutely just awful, this –.” I cried again, Destiny cut me off.

“Harry! Is this paint not washable! Harry tell me now! What’s wrong?!” Destiny cried, more worried than ever.

“It is washable!” I cried, with a dramatic head flip and fell to the ground.

“Harry!” Destiny screamed angrily, shoving me into the wall, “Oh my gosh! I hate you, you know! And, on top of that, I just met you. Oh, my gosh, Harry! Jerk! You scared the living shit out of me!” She yelled at me, punching my shoulder, which was so faint and light, I didn't feel a thing. I couldn’t help but laugh hysterically, and I noticed Destiny's smile that she was trying to hide and stay angry at me.

Suddenly, I am laughing so hard, I can’t stop. I wave my hand in the air, my flag of apology. I don’t know why, but the waves of laughter keep coming. I try to catch my breath and snort, staring at Destiny wide-eyed, shocked that I would do such a thing and she suddenly bursts out laughing. I’m not sure, but her laughter fills me with joy.

I watched her, laugh with me, it looked so beautiful.

'How does she do that? Laugh, and like not like a crazy person.' I thought, smiling.

“Aw come on, though. You aren't angry at me, I know you love me.” I teased her, reaching for a hug.

“Ew, no. Again! We just met.” Destiny said, placing her hand on my chest to separate herself from me. I took her hand in mine and turned her around for a hug. I dug my face into her neck and tickled her uncontrollably. We both continued to laugh hysterically.

From the doorway, we heard someone clear their voice. “A-hem!”

We looked up to see Destiny’s father leaning against the doorway, staring at us with a smirk. Immediately we separated.

“Hey, Daddy!” Destiny said, going towards her father, nervously. “Did you have fun shopping?”

“Yeah.” Mr Baker smirked, “I see your room is freshly painted and seems like you two had fun, as well.”

“Uh …” Destiny blushed, I scratched the back of my neck, “Yeah, um … Harry helped me paint my room.” She gave me a stern look, telling me to say something.

“Uh … yes, you have a great home, Mr Baker.” I quickly said, not thinking about my choice of words.

“Ah! Yes, the emptiness really makes this place feel cosy and warm.” Mr Baker grinned.

“Umm … well, I have to go. It was nice getting to know your daughter.” I said, scratching the back of my neck, again.

“Mhmm …” Mr Baker nodded with a smirk.

Destiny walked me out of her house.
