Moving To England

Chapter Four

*Destiny’s POV*
*Same afternoon/To the airport*

The silent car ride to the airport was peaceful. Seemingly, the silence connecting Nicki and I more than talking ever did.

As we arrived at the airport, I could feel my breathing becoming rapid and shallow, anxiety feeling my lungs. Nicki and her father walked us into the airport until they could go in any further. It was when it was time for Nicki and me to say our goodbyes.

Dreading this moment, I turned to face Nicki, feeling my pulse pounding in my temples, I looked into her eyes.

"This is it, girly." I shyly say.

"Yeah ... this is it." Nicki nodded, knowingly as sadness washed over the both of us.

"Goodbye Nicki," I say, my voice cracking, and the tears filling up my eyes, blurring my vision.

"Bye, Destiny," Nicki cried, as she threw her arms around me and embraced me in a tight hug, which seemed to last an eternity.

The overhead voice announced that our flight would be leaving in moment's notice as Nicki and I pulled away from the hug.

"Alright Destiny, let's go," Dad says to me, gently tapping my shoulder.

"Remember me, alright?" Nicki made me promise.

"Always." I nodded. "Bye." I waved to before walking away with my Dad.

Fiddling with the bracelet Nicki gave me, as I settled into the plane, I admired the little charms. With a sigh I looked out the window, thinking about all the memories I made and how they will always just be 'memories' now.

"Hey, Buddy." Dad nudged me, before throwing his arm around my shoulders. "Are you ready for this?"

"Do I have a choice? I'm already on the plane." I grunted.

"Not really, but I still want to check," Dad replied.

"Mhmm," I mumbled.

"Everything happens for a reason, honey. Everything is changing. How about you hold on and just enjoy them. Yeah?"

"Yeah, I get it, but is there anything wrong with me being sad?"

"No, but, I don't want this to stay for a long time. Okay?"

"Alright." I nodded, as I gazed out the window into the dark sky. The stars were so faint under the city lights.

'Here goes nothing.' I thought to myself.
