Moving To England

Chapter Eleven

*Destiny’s POV*
*Next Afternoon*

It was a bright sunny afternoon, as a cool breeze was blowing through the air. The movers were bringing in the rest of our furniture from the moving van and store.

"How about taking your bike out for a ride in the neighbourhood? There isn't much you can do inside today." Dad suggested as we sat out on the front porch.

"Yeah, that sounds like an idea. I'm going to go get dressed and head out." I nodded, as I got up and went into my room.

Changing into something comfy, I grabbed my phone, and headphones, and then went to retrieve my bike. I plugged in my headphones and took my bike out for a trip around the neighbourhood. Just me, nature, and my newly downloaded music.

I loved the feeling of the wind breezing through my hair, as I rode away. Just being there bring a soul into a sweet surrender, letting go, vibrant yet relaxed. Every fragrance was fresh, like the page of a new book. I escaped into my thoughts, my feet pleading unconsciously, lungs filled with happiness and everything rolled by in its silent and endless way.

Just as I begun riding, I suddenly came into conscious and immediately stepped on the bikes, stirring myself to a quick halt.

I was a mere inch from crashing into a girl. I yanked off my earphones, leaping off my bike I went to see if the girl was alright. As I looked at her more carefully, I realised she might be around my age.

"Oh my gosh! I am so, so sorry! Are you alright?!" I frantically questioned her, apologising as well.

"No, no. Don't worry. It's alright. I am fine, I swear." The girl smiled, as she brushed herself off.

"Oh, thank god." I sighed in relief, "I'm Destiny Baker, by the way."

"Hey, Destiny. I'm Elizabeth Maxwell. You're new here right?" the girl asked, in a thick British accent.

"Yeah, I am." I nodded with a smile.

“Where are you heading to?” Elizabeth asked.

“Nowhere in particular, just taking my bike for a ride around the neighbourhood,” I say, patting my bike.

“Oh, that sounds fun. I am going to the park. Do you want to come alone?” Elizabeth offered.

“Sure, why not?” I agreed.

“Alright, I am going to get my bike, you just wait here,” Elizabeth informed me, motioning me to stay put.

“Okay.” I nodded. With that, Elizabeth runs off to retrieve her bike.

Elizabeth came back rolling a light green bike in her hands.

"You ready to go?" Elizabeth asked me.

"Yup!" I responded. We hopped on our bikes and rode off. Since we had to ride in a straight line on the side of the road, we couldn't talk much, unless we wished to get hurt.

I was honestly pleased, not in a rude way, but this way I could relax and enjoy my music, and the light breeze.

Once we arrived at the park, we were meet by three other girls.

"Hey girls!" Elizabeth waved to them, as the two of us locked up our bikes. I followed Elizabeth to her friends as I put away my phone and headphone into my back pocket.

In the group of three girls, there was a blonde, a redhead and a brunette.

"Hey, Beth." The blonde one said.

"Who is your friend?" The brunette asked.

"Girls, this is Destiny Baker. The new girl in the neighbourhood." Elizabeth said, "Destiny, these are my friends, June Bush." Elizabeth called the Blondie, "Ally Thomas" was the brunet girl, and "Finally this is Mabel Miles." Elizabeth named the redhead.

"Hi," I waved to them.

"Hey!" Ally laughed, "You finally arrived!"

"Finally?" I asked confused.

"Oh, yeah, obviously. You and your family are all the neighbourhood parents have been talking about lately." Mable explained.

"Wow really, why?" I questioned, chuckling.

"Apparently, your parents were very popular back in their high school days." June pointed out.

"Popular, really? Please, my dad wouldn't know the first thing about that." I laughed.

"Yeah," Elizabeth laughed, "but according to my mum, your dad was one of the 'hot' guys."

"Oh dear god. Please never say that again." I whined, jokingly, making the girls laugh.

"You could probably carry on their little title. You're really pretty." Ally thought out loud.

"Thank you so much. But, me? 'Popular'. I couldn't ever." I laughed at Ally's comment.

"How come? You're so pretty and you seem so nice." June questioned me.

"That's very true, but all these so-called 'popular' people are not so very nice." Elizabeth snorted.

"Are you four, popular, or whatever?" I asked.

"Us? Are you good?" Ally says.

"Never in a billion years." Mabel shook her head.

"Good. Popular people are too cocky for me." I laughed. "You guys seem really cool. You don't mind me around, do you?"

"Awh. That's really cute. Thank you." June says smiling.

"Of course we don't mind you having around. I've always wanted a fifth girl in our group." Mabel says, dreamingly.

"So, who else do you know in this neighbourhood?" Elizabeth asked.

"Umm ... There is this boy, living next door. Harry Styles, his name is." I answered.

"Oh no!" Mabel blurted out.

"What's wrong?" I exclaimed, concerned.

"Harry Styles. He is not good news." Elizabeth replied.

"Same with all of his friends." Ally groaned, in disgusted. Mabel nodded in agreement.

"What? Why? What did they do?" I asked, curiously.

"They are all flirts," June stated.

"Smokers and drinkers," Mable added.

"Heartbreakers." Ally grunted.

"And they use girls, for their pleasure," Elizabeth said, sounding disgusted.

"But ... Wow, he seemed pretty nice when I meet him." I say.

"The all seem great at first, but after sex, they are d***s." Ally groaned.

"They have a new girl in bed every day. Sometimes it is the same girl for a week or month. But it is never a girl for a long period of time, they absolutely broke the meaning of love." June sighed.

"He broke so many hearts ..." Mabel said, sadly. I could tell the group of girls they hurt, included them.

"Oh wow. Fine, then we will get revenge for everything that they did, yeah?” I demand.

“Him and all his friends, included, right?" Ally asked, hopefully.

"Of course!" I smiled. I was returned with several smiles, from my newly made friends.

"How, though?" Elizabeth questioned

"Uhm, well ..." I began, but I was interrupted by a familiar, husky British voice.

"Hey ladies," Harry smirked, calling to us.

Harry was being followed by his four friends - a blond, a boy with jet black hair and two guys with brown hair.

“What did we tell you?” Elizabeth laughed, whispering in my ear.

“Dear god, that’s how you people flirt?!” I asked, truly astonished.

“Yeah.” Elizabeth giggled.

“So, you girls want to play some football?” Harry asked.

“Football?” I questioned, confused. “How are you going to play football, without the actual football? You can't very much play it with a soccer ball.” Everyone looked at me like I was crazy.

“Uh … Destiny.” Ally poked me, “Soccer is called football.”

"What ...?" I questioned her, dumbstruck.

"The rest of the world, but North America, calls it football." Ally continued.

“Oh, how fun. Dear god, I hate going international." I asked, blushing. "And like actual football? What do you call that?"

“American football” the blond boy answered. He had a thick Irish accent.

“Oh … pfft. I knew that!” I blushed, averting my eyes.

“Really now?” Harry chuckled, along with everyone else.

“Yeah, obviously. How stupid do you think I am? I - I was just testing you guys.” I stuttered.

“Yeah? So, did we pass?” The jet black haired boy asked, smirking as well.

“Nope. Not at all. Only Ally and your blonde friend.” I said, looking at the ground.

“This blonde friend of his has a name, and it’s Niall Horan.” The blonde boy said.

“Does he always talk in the third person?” I asked June, raising an eyebrow.

"Okay. Moving on. How about that game, of soccer?" Harry says, trying to tease me.

"Ha! You failed. Loser." I announced, enthusiastically. "Look at him. He doesn't even know to call soccer, football outside of North America. Pssh! What a guy!" I teased him, turning to Mabel. The girls laughed, following by a few snickers from the boys. I even noticed Harry, rolling his eyes, to cover up that twitching of his mouth, I'm pretty sure he was fighting a smile.

'Gosh. That smile. Why does it make me so-so melty? Ew. Go away meltiness.' I say to myself frantically.

"Football or Nah, girls?" Harry asked again, with a little more force.

"If you're ready to lose then of course," I smirked, looking him dead in the eye. "Boys against girls"

"That sounds like a challenge." Harry shot back, inching a little closer until he was looking down at me and I was looking up at him. Our faces a mere 3-inches apart from one another.

"Oh, honey. It will be a challenge for you. Try to keep up, yeah?"

"Uhm, excuse me. I am the best football player in this town." Harry exclaimed, "You'll be going home crying to your daddies."

"Dear, I'm international." I shot back, with a smirk.

"Alright, alright. Before you to start fighting, let's make a deal." Nial suggested.

"Which is?" June questions.

"Winner gets whatever they want from the losers." Niall answers.

"Great idea. Why not? Love to use these little girls." Harry smirked, glaring at me for approval. I looked over at the girls, who were furiously shaking their heads. I turned back to Harry, who had a wider grin plastered on his face.

"Deal," I say demandingly.

"Alright, but just so you know, we have way more practice than you lot. We-" Harry begun.

"Blah. Blah. Blah!" I mocked him, cutting him off. "Can we play now?"

"We should hurry this up. I still want to show Destiny around the neighbourhood." Ally insisted, tugging me away from Harry.

"Aw don't be such a bumper, sugarplum. They are just trying to get to know each other before, you know what." Liam smirked.

"Uhm, yeah. That isn't happening." Ally demanded.

"What's 'you know what'?" I whispered to Ally.

"When Harry tries to get you in bed." Ally answered in disgust.

“Before we all leave. I still want to show Destiny around the neighbourhood.” Ally insisted.

"Oh, ew," I mumble, looking at Harry, who stood there looking back at me with a blank face. Fear now installed in me, I moved closer to Ally, further away from Harry.

"What. No, no. Don't worry ... Liam!" Harry stuttered, as he noticed my actions, before turning around and screaming at Liam, who only returned a chuckle.

“Maybe this game isn't such a good idea …” I shyly said, slowly backing away from Harry.

“No! Uh, I mean, it's fine. I promise. Don’t worry about what Liam said. He is an idiot.” Harry told me, before giving Liam a death glare. I looked at the girls, who simply returned a shrug.

“Fine.” I slightly nodded, with a sigh.

“Good,” Harry says, with a sigh of relief.
