Day before Valentine's
Piper's POV
"So what are you getting Liam for Valentine's Lily?" I snickered as i wiggled my eyebrows her direction from my seat across the lunch table. Perrie, who was sitting next to her, sent me a playful glare while Emily giggled from besides me at my intruding question. I mean we are all best friends, we tell each other literally everything and anything but Lily likes keeping her relationship with Liam private which i couldn't understand why since we were like sisters.
"I mean i have a little something planned" Lily replied shyly, her pale face growing red by the second.
We all let out a roar of laughter and whistles as we caught on to what she meant. I could feel peoples eyes on us from other tables but i really didn't care, this was juicy news.
"So are you finally giving lover boy your treasure box?" Emily joked, causing us all to nearly roll on the floor laughing except Lily.
"Okay enough! Im already nervous as it is, can you girls give me advice? I mean I was reading this blog all night last night, it had interesting tips and suggestions about having sex for the first time but what do you guys think? Is it too soon?" Lily whispered nervously as she moved her spoon around the scoop of mashed potatoes on her lunch tray.
"You're crazy right? Liam has been telling the guys how much he wants you already but he doesn't want to rush you. He is so ready!" Perrie exclaimed a little bit too loudly, placing her hands over her mouth almost as soon as the words escaped. "A little bird told me, not saying who though!" she finished before taking a sip of her orange juice. I rolled my eyes, it was obviously Zayn who told her, those two tell each other everything and it was somewhat annoying if i do say so myself.
I glanced back at Lily who had a frown on her face as she continued to play with her food. I cleared my throat before reaching over for that stupid spoon she kept messing with, snapping it in half.
"You and Liam have been dating for over a year now, you two have so much love for each other that it makes me sick to my stomach... in a good way i swear... but honestly you are ready for this Lily. Don't over think it, its going to be great and Liam will love to know you are ready" I reassured her with a genuine smile. One thing that you should know about me is that i suck at giving advice, im better as a listener.
Emily and Perrie quickly backed me up by nodding their heads and sending her a wide smile. Lily's frown disappeared within seconds, being replaced by an excited smile as she danced in her seat in excitement.
"Thank you pipes, Im so nervous but excited! So um what are you girls doing?" She kindly pushed the attention off herself which i understood. Lily was the conservative one of the group. Although she is great fun and loves doing new things, she likes her peace and quiet which is why she is perfect for Liam. I am almost jealous of their relationship, they are both book smart and have a passion for art, there's no doubt in my mind that they were literally made for each other.
"Well you know Zayn always has something up his sleeve so im not sure, all he told me was to be ready by six tomorrow night" Perrie gushed as she placed her head between her hands as she begins to day dream about the possibilities. Zayn and Perrie have been together the longest. I was the one who introduced Perrie to our group the beginning of Sophomore year two years ago and they clicked almost instantly. She was the social butterfly of the group, She loved talking to people and learning the hottest gossip which she shares with the rest of us. Zayn on the other hand was more on the conservative side, he liked keeping to himself and to our group and he supplied me with cigarettes so he was my fave!
Our attention then turned to Emily waiting to see what she had in store for today. As soon as she felt our patient eyes on her, she straightened her posture and flipped her long blonde hair back as if she was going to tell the best story of 2008.
"Well if you guys insist, i shall tell. But try not to get too jealous now ladies...Im going on a date with Niall!" she squealed as she fanned her flushed cheeks.
Now that was a surprise, I always knew Niall was trying to hit on her but i never knew Emily liked him back. I could hear Lily and Perrie congratulating Emily on her date and her new found feelings towards Niall. Now that i think about it, they would make a great couple.. beautiful children to be exact. I giggled at my own wild thoughts before joining my friends gush over details on their upcoming dates.
As soon as i thought they weren't going to ask me for my plans, a perky Perrie had to open her mouth and ask what i have been avoiding.
"What about you Pipes?" Perrie asked as she reached over to steal one of my fries. I dramatically flipped my hair as Emily did but slouched into my seat.
"Umm Harry asked me to be his Valentine with one of those valentine cards we used to give out when we were in grade school" I shrugged as i munched on a stale French fry. I swear no one hates cafeteria food more than i do. I continued to avoid eye contact until It was too abnormally quiet was when i finally glanced up to see my friend's confused and astonished faces.
"What are you talking about??? What about Louis?" Lily half yelled, which was startled me. I must have missed something, what did i say again? I could have sworn i just said Harry asked me to be his valentine, what was the big deal? We were all friends here, the guys were just not here at the moment, they were in some football meeting.
"You are in love with Louis yet you are his best friend's Valentine?" Emily asked, trying to make a point that i still didn't get until now. I mean i have liked Louis since i started liking boys but i never told anyone besides my gals, Louis didn't need to know. That would only make it awkward, or at least that is what i think. And plus, he didn't even ask my to be his valentine.
"Why are you all feeling sorry for Louis? He is oblivious of me liking him and lets keep it that way please. I love our friendship enough to risk ruining it, besides he doesn't even like me back, he sees me as a sister." I defend myself, and sadly i couldn't stop the stupid frown form on my thin lips. I knew Harry just asked me to be a good friend, i was always his Valentine when we were in grade school so this isn't any different. Me and Harry were friends since we were born, seriously. He was my best friend, why were they taking this the wrong way?
Before i could say anything more, i looked up and spotted our boys entering the cafeteria.Yes i consider them as our boys, we are like a big, love-twisted family and i love it. I wouldn't let a silly crush or a slutty whore ruin anything between our group. My eyes immediately landed on Louis, who was laughing hysterically at something Niall said. His plain black t-shirt hung around his perfectly sculpted belly. He has been doing something different with his fringe that makes him look even more delicious. I couldn't help the smile form on my lips as they drew nearer. My eyes then helplessly roamed to Harry who was talking to Zayn as they walked towards our table. I couldn't help but notice every girl drool and stare as they made their way towards our table. Don't get me wrong, Harry is by far really hot but he was just... well you know, he was just Harry. Every girl figuratively open their legs as he walks by but only our group knows the real him. He was caring, the smartest guy i have ever met and so much more than a boy toy.
"And besides, im just his Valentine for one day so what's the big deal?" I asked the girls but i couldn't help feeling like i was actually asking myself.

okay i know this first chapter isn't the best but it will get better.

What do you think about the characters? The guys will play a larger role in next chapters, i just wanted you guys to see how the girls are :)
