*3 days later*

“Let’s go out! I’m off today and so are you!” I gulped and played around with my fingers. “Uhm, sure. Are the others going?” I sighed at her response and laid down on my bed.

“I’ll ask Calum if he wants to come. Do you want to go bowling?” I wanted to punch myself with what I just said. Why would I want Calum to come, of all the people?

Ever since three days ago, when we went out together, just the two of us for the first time, I’ve never wanted to do anything but spend time with her again.

“Sure. I don’t mind. I’ll ask the others.” She hung up and I went on and debated whether I should ask Calum or not.

My phone rang all of a sudden as I was just about to reach for it to call Aislinn. “Hey! I heard you wanted to go out!” Calum’s voice irritated me a bit. I came up with the idea of going out literally five minutes ago, how did he get the news already?

“Yeah. Since I’m not working, I figure why not? Was it Aislinn that called you?” I wasn’t in the best mood to deal with him and the tone of my voice probably gave it away.

“Oh no. I just got a text from Mike. Where are you planning on going?” He sounded too happy and it somehow irritated me more than it should have. “Bowling? Are you guys up for it?” I paced across my room, praying to God he would say no.

“Yeah, sure. I’m bored anyways. So are you guys just picking me up?” I agreed right away so I can hang up. He usually rejects all invitations; I hated that this was the one he chose to agree to.

It didn’t take long for Aislinn to pick everyone up and drive to the bowling place. “Yay! I can’t believe we’re all hanging out. It’s been a while. Do you guys agree?” Amber exclaimed, too excitedly for my liking.

It wasn’t too long before everyone’s joyful demeanor annoyed me. This day wasn’t going well as I pictured it.

“Woah! Lukey, don’t look too overjoyed.” Amber said sarcastically while she sat down next to me and crossed her arms. “Says the girl who looks like she hates the world at the moment.” I adjusted my seat and rested my feet on the chair in front of me.

“Eh, I really don’t have anyone to cling onto at the moment.” She sighed as she copied what I just did. “Calum’s too busy flirting with YOUR princess.” She poked my chest and I looked at her with exasperation drawn on my face.

She pointed at where Calum and Aislinn were and they were having a moment over a bowling ball. They looked like they were arguing about who’s getting the ball but they did it in a charming way where if someone who doesn’t know them looks at them, they would immediately think they were a couple.

“My princess?! What?!” I tried to play it off and make it seem like she was nothing to me. “I gotta admit they look adorable together. I have no idea why Calum is only going for her now.” I scoffed at what she said and crossed my arms.

“You think he’s going for her? Doesn’t he have Tanya?” I looked at her as if I just won an argument that wasn’t even there in the first place.

“Yeah! Haven’t you noticed those little behavior change that Calum has? He’s more hyper than ever when she is around. He hasn’t really talked much with any girl in this group but her. And I know what you’ll say, ‘it’s mostly arguments anyway.’ Shut up! It counts. And Tanya? Please, that girl hasn’t given him a second look and probably just feels sorry for him.” She took a deep breath after finishing her very long point.

As much as I would love to argue, she was right. I kept telling myself that Calum won’t ever like Aislinn but I was wrong. He may not know it yet but he’s slowly falling for her and as much as I would love to stop that, I can’t and I shouldn’t. It was something that would make Aislinn glad but how about me?
