Rachel's P.O.V.

Ashton and I walked in silence until we were outside. My stomach was fluttering with nerves as I followed him,hoping maybe he'd bring it up and I wouldn't have to.

Eventually he sighed. "So you em, wanted to talk?" He asked cautiously, glancing at me from the side as we continued to walk.
I thought through various responses before deciding to just be straight out. All I needed was a few seconds of insane courage and then I'd know one way or another.

Taking a deep breath, I spit it out. "Ashton, how do you feel about me?" I asked. With that he stopped walking altogether. As he turned to face me I straight away saw his cheeks were tinged pink.

"Wh-What?" He questioned, suddenly nervous looking.

"How do you feel about me?" I repeated. "I need to know Ashton, the truth" I added.

He swallowed nervously looking up.

"Well, I eh, honestly I like you. A lot actually. And I mean I understand it if you don't feel the same way but I really don't want this to affect our friendship so if you don't like me back can we just pretend this never happened and I'll just-" he began rambling but cut off quickly when I caught one of his hands in mine, lacing our fingers together and squeezing softly.

"I kinda like you too. A lot actually" I repeated his words, a teasing hint to himy voice.

His confused face turned to one of delight and disbelief.

"You do?" He asked, a goofy grin overtaking his face.

I giggled. "I do"



That had been how the conversation had happened. It had only been a few days since it but things had changed so much. Ashton and I had decided to do things properly and so were due to go out on our first 'official date' next Friday. Ashton said he was planning something special though he wouldn't tell me what it was.

I still hadn't had a chance to tell Skylar. Luke had probably already told her about it. He seemed to spend all of his time lately texting, calling or skyping her. I could tell he was really missing her lately.
Since I had no plans for Saturday night I changed into a pair of pyjama bottoms and an Elmo T-shirt and perched myself on the couch. Lizzie was out with friends and so I was alone. I figured it was the best time for a Harry Potter marathon.

I was halfway through Chamber of Secrets when a knock on the door interrupted me. Making sure to pause the television I yelled out "It's open"

Almost instantly Ashton walked into the room, his eyebrows raised. "What if I was a burglar?" He asked,seeming unimpressed with my lack of security. I rolled my eyes. "And how many burglars knock the door?" I asked back. When he was silent I continued. " 'Hey there, I'm just here to rob you so if you'd let me in that'd be great' " I did a bad impression of a burglar though I noticed Ashton grin all the same.

He had a bag of take away food in his hand and made his way over to the couch to sit next to me.

"Hey" he greeted, pressing a soft kiss to my temple.

"Hi" I responded, unable to restrain myself from looking in the bag of food, glad when I saw he had curry cheese chips.

He chuckled at my eagerness, handing me the bag.

"So, what we watching?"
