Treacherous

Chapter 1

"Livy hurry your slow ass up we're going to be late!"I ignored him, taking me sweet time slipping on my converse before trudging down the stairs. Liam was standing next to the front door, my back pack and a granola bar in hand as he impatiently waited. I smiled sweetly at my twin ignoring his annoyed glare as I grabbed my bag and make shift breakfast from him.

"Your welcome." He grumbled as I walked right past him and out the door.

"Oh thank you my perfectly amazing brother! What would I ever do without you?" I sighed dramatically, surprisingly he chuckled instead of giving me some snarky come back.

"Just get in the car smart ass."

I obliged, hoping in the passenger seat, of his 2014 black Maserati Ghibli Q4. I buckled my seat belt tightly and checked to make sure Liam was wearing his. Of course he would be with me in the car, that was when I noticed the peaceful difference this morning. No one tried fighting me for shot gun.

"Where's Horan?" I asked, curious as to why he didn't crash at our place the previous night. He rarely ever sleeps at home. His whole wardrobe is basically in the guest room that became his about a year ago.

Liam shrugged. "His parent's wanted to talk to him." Was his vague reply. It was no secret to me that Niall's parent's were going through a nasty divorce. Though he doesn't give the details of just how bad it is to anyone except Liam.
"Oh," I replied, not wanting to pry, despite how curious I was. Niall may be an annoying pain in my ass, a prick, a douche bag, a man whore, basically every name there is in the book, but- and it pains me to say this- he's like family to me. His parent's are fucked up, to what extent I'm not sure. It has to be bad though, enough to lead him to practically living at my house.
Not that my parents mind, their hardly home anyway.

My father is basically a Diplomat for the United States. AKA, he is constantly traveling around the world representing our country and handling foreign affairs. He does a bunch of other official stuff that I wouldn't be able to understand if I tried. The job is a huge honor, and especially if your in my father's position. He is so high up, he's friends with Barrack Obama. I've met him and the first lady on two special occasions. Let me just say it was intimidating. The amount of scary agent's and guards there was overwhelming. I could just feel them watching me, waiting to see if I were a terrorist or something.

In all, my father's job is very well paying, in other words he's loaded.

You may be wondering where my mom is in all of this. Well mom is one of those wives that are so attached to their husbands that the thought of being away from them months at a time would be ludicrous. So when Liam and I turned six, she started tagging along with him to every single job abroad, hiring a nanny to look after us. When we turned sixteen they started leaving us alone. It's been much better that way. The nanny's are always bitches, we would get a new one every year, for what reason I'm not sure, but I've hardly ever gotten along with them. So when the year was up Liam and I held our own little parties to celebrate. The best was the day Helga left. Yes Helga, could a name get any meaner. She was an absolute witch. I couldn't leave a fork in the sink without her screaming, half the time it was in Swedish, so I don't know how she expected me to know what she was yapping about.

My parents have been everywhere around the world. A benefit for Liam and I, we've been to quite a few places as well. Every year my father takes a two week vacation over the christmas holiday in which he takes us and mom to some foreign country he got to visit that year. An extra plus…we get to miss a week of school on top of the week we already had for break. The past three years Niall had tagged along, which with some nagging, along with the daddy's girl card, Ronnie was able to come as well.

Ronnie has been my best friend since before Liam and Niall even became friends in kindergarten. I've known her since diapers. She lives across the street and two houses and down from me. On many occasions i'd come home from where ever to find her raiding my kitchen, watching Netflix in my TV room, or searching for an outfit in my closet. Yes we have, that kind of friendship. She's absolutely insane, but I love her.

We pulled up in front of Niall's and I began to fiddle with the radio. Liam had it on one of the morning talk shows. He's obsessed with them, while they give me excruciating head aches. I think that's one of the few things Niall and I agree on.

Just as I changed to a slow rock song, soothing and perfect for mornings, mr. grumpy pants opened my door.

"Get out." He ordered. I raised an eyebrow and gave him the 'do you really think I'm going to listen to you of all people' look.

Of course Niall looked perfect today. His hair, casually messy, khaki shorts and a band t-shirt. He had every girl swooning over him, wherever he went. Let me just say, it did nothing but boost his immensely high ego. If his head grew any bigger it would fall off.

"Get in the back loser." I rolled my eyes and made a show of getting comfy in my seat, putting my feet up on the dashboard and sighing contently.

He grumbled something unintelligible, before slamming the car door. He hopped in the back as Liam yelled at him for being rough with his baby, yes I mean his car. Before Liam took off I discreetly checked to make sure Niall's belt was on. It's just a force of habit now. It may seem shocking but deep deep down and I mean bottom of the the ocean deep, I care a little about Niall.

"Why didn't you just drive yourself?" The douche had the nerve to ask me, if I looked back he would be smirking. I didn't miss the nasty glare Liam shot him through the rearview mirror.

"First of all you know I don't have a car." Yes, unfortunately for me I crashed my beautiful mercedes convertible a week after I got it. This was about about six months ago. Liam and I both got brand new cars for our seventeenth birthdays. I can still clearly recall every moment up until I blacked out, though I don't like to think about it. The whole car was totaled. I broke two ribs and was in a coma for a week. My dad was too worried about me to buy me another car. He said he didn't feel safe with me on the road. Not that I felt so comfortable driving, ever since then I've been traumatized and haven't driven myself at all. The first few days I wouldn't get in a car, eventually I forced myself when I had to go back to school but it was terrifying. Hence why I have a compulsion to check that everyone is wearing seatbelts. Niall knows this and of course is being a dick to get on my nerves. All because I made him sit in the back.

"Second of all, Liam and I came from the same place so why didn't you drive yourself."

"I left my car at your place, I wasn't expecting to sleep home last night." He replied, his voice a bit quieter, probably thinking about whatever events took place with his parents the night before. I almost felt guilty, but this was Niall. He's a dick to me and always has been since he would pull my hair and push me off the swings in elementary school.

Now that he mentioned it, I remembered seeing his Range Rover in our driveway. He rarely ever drives it to school since he's always sleeping over, it's just easier to all go together.

"Besides, we have practice after school." He added, to lighten the mood.

"Wait.. You guys have soccer after school?" I looked to Liam. He nodded as if it were obvious.

Great, just great. "How the hell am I supposed to get home?" I whined.

"Not my problem Olive." Niall snickered. I ignored him. Though it took everything in me to yell at him for the name. I hated being called Olive. Niall knew that, which is why he refused to call me anything but. I grew used to it after all this time but it gets on my last nerves and he loves doing just that.

"Ask Ronnie." Liam stated. I obviously would have done that if I didn't know Ronnie. The second I mentioned why I would need a ride home, she was going to freak and make us stay to watch them practice anyway. It would go something about shirtless boy's and eye candy. Don't get me wrong both of those things are great but I have homework to do. Besides I already have the perfect boyfriend, I don't need to look at anyone else.

"Or you could walk." Niall added smugly, fucking jerk.

"Yeah, yeah, i'll figure something." I grumbled, just as Liam pulled into the student parking lot. I hopped out of the car and slung my bag over my back. I felt a strong arm wrap around my shoulder.

"Hey," Liam said softly. "I'll drive you home before practice. I can just tell coach that I'm going to be five minutes late." He offered. I knew why he was doing this. He felt bad about my 'fear' of cars. I didn't trust many people driving, Liam, Ronnie and Niall were some of the few I did. The first time I get in the car with someone I'm alway on edge.

Liam made it sound like this would be an okay deal for him but I knew it wouldn't. He was one of the captains, along with Niall, his coach would give him a lot of shit for being late everyday.

Possibly take away his position. He was just too good of a brother to admit it.

"Don't worry Li. I'll be fine. Maybe I'll even listen to jerk face and walk." I suggested though there was no way in hell that was happening. A forty minute walk was not in my plans for the day when it could be a ten minute drive. I had to stop being a baby and ask another friend for a ride.

"Your sure?" He asked.

"Yes, now go do whatever you do in the mornings." I attempted pushing him away but he was too strong. He gave me his award winning smile, while squeezing me tight.

"Love you." He told me before jogging after Niall who was now hitting on two blonde freshman. There was a good chance he would have them both in bed by the end of the night. I won't mention how much he sickens me.

"Love you too!" I called after him. He gave me a thumbs up to show that he heard. I smiled faintly before walking into the school. My first stop was the cafeteria where I knew my friends would be. We always hung out there before first period, it was convenient for me since I could get a morning coffee.

I wasn't the least bit surprised by the show I walked in on.

There Ronnie stood on one of the round cafeteria tables, acting out one of her play writes from drama class. Everyone in the caf watched in awe/amusement by how witty and fun she was.
Ron is the best person I know. She's bubbly, funny, quirky, adventurous, you name it. She's also an aspiring actress, and a hell of a good one if I might add. She's gotten lead parts in every school musical since freshman year.

I can't count on both hands the different amounts of colors I've seen her hair. It's currently a light pink, one of my favorites on her, and not just because I picked it. She had been letting her natural blonde hair grow out for a while. Then a month after my accident, I was still in my funk and would hardly even talk, she took me to the hair salon and told me to choose whatever color. When I asked her why she was suddenly changing her 'I want to look natural' streak, she simply shrugged and said it was time for a good change. She didn't have to admit it but I knew she was trying to help me move on. Maybe distract me with something fun, I don't know but it was a very Ronnie thing to do.

"And Scene." She dramatized before taking a bow. Everyone clapped, whistled or cheered for her and she was loving it. She hopped down to the floor just as I made my way over to our table.

Ronnie was my best friend but there were two other girls in our group. Kendal was a short pixie blonde, she was sweet and innocent looking but at parties she was anything but. Miya was a gorgeous asian girl, specifically Korean. You don't want to see what she will do if you call her chinese. Trust me. Her father is white so she was raised with American culture, but she had been learning Tae Kwon do since she was five. One does not want to be on her bad side.
"Ah, Liv come here!" Ronnie yelled patting my usual seat next to her with a bright smile on her face. My coffee was already sitting there meaning she had gotten it for me. I narrowed my eyes suspiciously, she would never buy me coffee, and not only because she was too lazy to wait online for it. Ronnie had this whole crazy idea that coffee was the devil and we should never drink it. She's tried to get me to stop countless times, too bad for her, I was addicted and not giving up my favorite source of caffeine. So you could see why this was a strange occurrence.

"Look what I got you my bestest friend and the bestest person in the whole wide world!"

"What does she want?" I cocked an eyebrow looking to Kendal and Miya as I sat down. Miya shook her head with a small smile and Kendal wore a smirk directed at Ron.

"I need to please, please, please, copy your math packet. Just this last time! I was up all night memorizing lines for my act in drama class. I had no time to do it! I'll even change like half the answers to get them wrong. Mrs. Reed probably wouldn't believe me if I got them all right anyway and if I got them all wrong, which I would without your help then that would be bad too. So please i'll do whatever, like your-"

"Oh my it's too early for this." I cut her rambling off, already searching through my bag to get the stupid calculus packet. It was twenty pages filled with problems, the thing took me two hours, and for me math is a peice of cake. I don't want to know how long it took the math strugglers in my class.

I guess I'm what you would call a nerd. It's not that I overly try in school, it all just comes natural, in every subject. I normally don't mind people copying once in a while, sure it's annoying that I worked hard and they don't have to, but I'm not one of those bitches that doesn't let people copy off her. Especially my best friends. It's just this is the fifth time since the start of school, and that's just counting math. I can't help but worry for her. Though she claims nothing she learns here will be of any use once she's in Hollywood.

"Thank you, I love you! I owe you, anything you need, you name it." She rushed as she frantically began copying my work into her booklet.

"How about a ride home today?"

"Yeah sure whatever," she mumbled distractedly. I smiled, perfect, she didn't even ask me about Liam.

"Why can't Liam drive?" She added. Dammit. Spoke too soon.

"Um- detention. Him and Niall both got it." I lied, and quite well if I do say so my self.

"Oh really I thought that soccer-" I cut Miya off with a warning glare that Ronnie was too
distracted to notice. "Never mind." She added, giving me what she though was a discreet wink.

………….

A guidance counselor came in to talk to us during English. Since we are seniors, we're expected to complete a certain number of volunteer hours in order to graduate. Everyone is divided into groups of three or four, within their English class. That is the group you are required to volunteer with for the remainder of the year.

The horrible thing is, Niall is in my English class. I had been praying since the first day of school that they would divide us up alphabetically. 'H' was no where near 'P' in the alphabet. Also Kendal was in my class and since her last name is Penson , we would definitely be together.

"This year we have decided to switch up the pairing process. You will all be given a number, and that will decide your group." Mr. Geller, the guidance counselor informed us. I internally groaned that my alphabetical theory was a no go.

Him and Mrs.Varello, our English teacher went around the room with two buckets that we each drew a slip of paper from. I unfolded my slip seeing a number '3' neatly written in the center.
I looked to Kendal trying to see what she got, she held up five fingers and my anticipated face dropped. That's the worst feeling when your not in a group with your friend. Everyone began exchanging numbers trying to find who was with who, I was about to ask around when Mr. Obnoxious stood on his desk chair.

"Group three, assemble!" He announced motioning his arms as if summoning us towards him. My stomach dropped and I wanted to throw up. I was going to have to be civil with Niall for a whole school year. That just couldn't work. To make matters worse, the beach blonde barbie, squealed as she pranced her way towards Niall. No, just no. Not only was I grouped with Niall, but I also had Britney in my group. Holy crap, what have I done to you God?

Britney and her evil best friend whose name is..wait for it.. Jamie. Yes their names are Britney and Jamie, and their your stereotypical blondes who probably couldn't tell you what five times five is. They like to think of themselves as the 'Queen Bee's' of the school. When in reality everyone just looks at them as a huge joke. They will literally sleep with anything that has a penis. I don't even want to know how many times I've caught them at my house with Niall and I hate to say this even Liam has had his share with them.

Our school isn't one of those that you see in movies when the students are all divided into clicks and the popular girls rule everyone. Not even in the slightest. Popularity isn't really a thing, everyone is just friends with everyone. Sure, you have your close friends but we all get along fine. And then there is Britney and Jamie who are so delusional that they think everyone is afraid of them where as everyone avoids them because they're so ridiculous you wouldn't want to be infected. They happen to have a well known dislike for me and Ronnie, probably because we decided to hide they're clothes last year when Jamie was doing Liam while Britney was doing Niall. Maybe it was the other way around, I couldn't be sure.

"Switch with me!" I begged Kendal as she was walking towards her own group filled with normal students.

"No way hun, sorry but I refuse to work with one of the 'Spears' bimbos. Look you have Louis, that makes it better." She gave me an apologetic smile as she left me. I glared at her back before walking to my shameful group. At least she was right, Louis was sitting with Jerkface and Barbie.

Louis is one of my good friends, he's a part of Niall and Liam's group. There is five of them, Niall, Liam, Louis, Harry and Zayn. They're all gorgeous, except for Liam, he's my brother so thats just gross. They're always hanging out at my house, along with my friends so we're all pretty close. Ronnie and Zayn even have an on and off again thing. Though nothing is official as much as she wants it to be. The guys seem to have a code that none of them get girlfriends. They all follow this except Louis, and that's why he's my favorite. His girlfriend Eleanor has recently become a good friend of mine. She's always been shy but I've been breaking her out of that shell since the summer when her and Louis started going out.

"Ah look who it is," Niall mused with his award winning smirk. He was loving this.
"I'm looking and all I see is an asshole a dumb blonde and Louis."

"Hey, hey watch that pretty mouth Olive, your going to have to get along with me if you want to graduate."

"I think I'd rather repeat senior year."

"Why would you do that? That would be like double the work." Britney so brightly added while inspecting her nails closely. I took a deep breath, calming myself down, I could not handle a year of this. Maybe I could talk Mr. Geller into switching me.

Louis wrapped his arm around my shoulder giving me a reassuring squeeze. At least I had him to make this bearable.

"Don't worry Britney, I think Livy here was just exaggerating." He informed her slow brain with a kind smile. "Why don't we start off with brainstorming places to volunteer." He suggested.

"Oo Oo I know!" Britney raised her hand, I resisted the urge to repeatedly palm my forehead.

"Yes, Britney." Niall called on her with an amused smirk, he was making fun of her yet he would gladly fuck her anytime.

"We can like set up tables and make a nail salon!" The three of us stared at her with dumbfounded expressions. "For free!" She added.

"Oh my god. I can't do this." I whispered but Louis and Niall's snickers told me they heard.

"Britney," I began, trying my best to be calm. "I think that with starving or homeless people, wounded animals, trash filled streets, sick hospital patients, and disabled elderly, there are more important matters in this world that don't include having a perfect manicure and pedicure. Don't you think so?"

"Ew. I am not going near dirty homeless people, or catching diseases from hospital people, and Im not touching garbage, or old people." She shivered.

Niall was surprisingly scowling at her for that comment. I didn't know he had a heart. I was just staring at her in shock, was she really so dense? Louis was trying to hold me back from attacking her, believe me if I wasn't so surprised I would have.

"You can get the fuck out of our group then." Niall snapped at her. Her jaw dropped as she glared at him, probably hurt that her boy toy wasn't agreeing with her. If she were even capable of emotions.

"But-"

"No 'buts' we are doing this project right and you can either help us or get ready for 'double the work' when your a senior again next year." He air quoted her while mimicking her voice. I snorted a laugh at her expression.

"Fine." She spat, crossing her arms, attempting to push her chest out. I wasn't just saying that either, she was clearly eyeing it as her arms popped out her cleavage, while she snuck glances at Niall to see if he was looking. She had absolutely no dignity, none. To my utter shock he wasn't paying attention to her, he was looking at Louis and I waiting for us to say something.

"So.." Louis began, breaking the awkwardness. And that's how the rest of the period went. Louis, Niall and I brain storming while Britney forced her cleavage in Niall's face.

……………..

"Just five minutes!" Ronnie begged. She ended up finding out the real reason why I needed a ride home. I should have known she would. All the soccer boys had been ranting about it the whole day. As I assumed she tried to persuade me with hot shirtless boys.

"Fine. Then we are going home. Someone has to do our homework right." I raised an eyebrow defiantly. I had her there. She gave me a guilty smile before dragging me to the field. It had been fifteen minutes and I was still waisting my afternoon sitting on the bottom of the bleachers with Ronnie. A few other's were watching as well, mostly pathetic girls that Ronnie and I had now become. Ronnie said, unlike them we had an excuse to be there because my brother was captain and she was 'friends' with Zayn.

I had to admit the view was great. Niall is one sexy beast. I would never admit that to anyone. Not even Ronnie. I hadn't realized I was watching him until we made eye contact. A smug smirk grew on his face. He flexed his bicep while wiggling his eyebrows at me. What a jerk. I scowled and gave him the finger before turning my attention to the gorgeous Harry instead. I had been noting how hot he looked with has tattoos when my ringtone went off making me jump. I dug through my bag and pulled it out. The name on the screen made my heart drop, I almost felt guilty like i'd been caught in the act of checking out other guys. I knew it was ridiculous but still, I wouldn't like him checking out other girls.

"Hello?" I answered my voice coming out rusty, so I had to clear my throat a bit.

"Hey baby! How was school?"

"It was okay." I shrugged though he couldn't see me. "I miss you."

"I know. I miss you too. I'm coming home soon in a few weekends and I'm making it up to you. How does that sound?"

"Good." I giggled. Elliot, has been my boyfriend for almost two years now. He's a year older then me so he's in his first semester at college. He went away to Stanford, which is a five hour drive from our home town in Beverly Hills. He was the valedictorian of his class, he's the perfect boyfriend. To me he has no faults but ask any of my friends, my brother or my father and they could name a million. The only person in my life who actually likes him is my mother. Of course Elliot looks like a Calvin Klein model so she's always perving on him and giggling like an idiot when he talks. It's weird but better then the scowls my father gives him.

"Great. Your being a good girl right?" He asked jokingly but I knew the seriousness behind it. One of the reasons that my friends don't like him is that he likes to monitor me in a way. He doesn't like when I get drunk or make a fool of myself at parties, which before him I tended to do a lot. I was the life of the party, but now I try to be more reserved for him. He's right though, I shouldn't have been acting that way. If colleges found out that would be the end of my future. I was banking on getting in to Stanford so I could be with him.

"Of course." I replied out of habit.

"Wonderful. I'll talk to you soon."

"Okay. Call me later! I love you!"

"Love you too babe." He told me before hanging up. I had a goofy smile on my face as I put my
phone away. It dropped once I looked up and noticed Ronnie's sickened scowl.

"When are you going to dump that scum."

"He's not scum. He has straight A's and goes to an IV league college."

"Just because he's smart doesn't mean he isn't scum, He's worse then the wipe I clean my ass with."

"Please can we not get in to this right now." I was so sick of having those conversations with everyone, mostly her, Liam and Niall. Niall loved to trash Elliot. I think more then he enjoyed picking on me.

"Fine." She dropped it. "But I just wish you would see how much he holds you back."

I rolled my eyes but let it go. As long as she wasn't hassling me for now. I loved Elliot and I would feel lost without him, he was my rock. He was always sweet to me, they just didn't see that side to him. I gave him my virginity and it means something to me. I wouldn't have done that if we weren't serious. I wasn't going to dump him because my friends didn't like him.

......................

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked as I walked into the kitchen. I grabbed a plate and a slice of pizza before joining them at the table.

"Just how you and your brother are throwing me a killer birthday party Saturday night." Niall smiled excitedly. He looked really handsome when he smiled genuinely.

"Is that so? Why would I want to throw you a party?" I asked smugly, though I was excited myself. It had been almost two weeks since school started and this would be the first party with Elliot gone. I know it was mean for me to be thinking that way it's just that it was going to be a huge relief to not have him breathing down my neck.

"Because you love me." He offered taking a huge bite of his pizza. I was about to object but Liam cut in.

"Come on it'll be fun. First party of the year. Everyone knows we throw the best parties." It was true, Liam and I were always having huge rages. It's mostly due to the no parents/rules thing. Our houses are spread out enough so that the neighbors don't complain.

Niall was looking down at his phone with a smug smirk when seconds later the doorbell rang.
I got up from my seat and walked through the house to answer it. Niall was following along behind me, did I mention he's weird?

I opened the door with a polite smile that quickly melted off my face when I noticed who our visitor was. Or I should say Niall's visitor, no wonder he had been following. The little shit couldn't have warned me, he just loves pissing me off.

I resisted the urge to gag at what Jamie was wearing. She had on a sheer dress that barely passed her ass and you could clearly see her cheetah print bra and matching panties. To tie it all together she had on 8 inch stilettos. In simple terms, she looked like a hooker.

"Niall your whore is here!" I called despite him being right behind me. Jamie's face was priceless. Niall moved me out of the way guiding her inside. He wrapped an arm around her waist and smirked at me.

"Don't go name calling just because your jealous. You can gladly join." He wiggled an eyebrow suggestively.

I pretended to gag. "Wouldn't want to catch an STD from either of you." Jamie scoffed giving me the evil eye. It was supposed to be intimidating but it had the opposite effects.

"Ignore her Britney. She just hasn't been laid in a while." Niall said guiding her up the stairs.

"It's okay baby." She told him rubbing his chest. The saddest part about the situation was she didn't even correct him when he got her name wrong. Where is our pride women?
I cringed before going back to Liam. I was already planning to blast my stereo and lock my door once I finished my dinner. God knows I didn't need to hear Jamie's exaggerated moans ever again. I speak from experience when I say, note my room is right next to Liam's, it's disgusting and disturbing.
