Stay With Me

Niall opens his eyes to see Tori sitting up in the bed alone. Jana's gone and the cover is flipped back from where she lied. He leans up and yawns lightly. ''Ni Ni.''Tori giggles and puts her arms around his neck. This knocks him back and he laughs with her as he lies on his back, her small body on top of him.

''Where's your mommy at?''He asks.''She in 'dere.''She says and gets off of Niall. She stands on the bed and jumps a little as she waits for Niall. He stands up and slides some pajama pants on that he was wearing last night.

He stands in front of the foot of the bed as she holds her arms out for him.''Jump.''He smiles and she nods with a huge smile. She jumps and he catches her.''Yay!''She giggles and he smiles at her.

He takes her into the kitchen to find Jana leaning on the counter. Her head on her arms. ''Mama?''Tori mumbles as Niall sits her on the counter beside Jana. ''Love, are you okay?''He asks as he places a hand on the small of her back. She leans up and turns to him.

She shakes her head no lightly and glances at Tori.''Tori..''Niall says.''Yes?''She smiles.''Go play okay.''He says and puts on the ground.''But I wanna pay with you!''She says and holds her arms up.''I'll be there in a minute,promise.''He says and she sighs.She nods and runs into her room.

''Tell me.''Niall whispers as one hand holds her waist and the other holds her hand. ''Me and my dad are fighting..again.''She mumbles.''Why?''He asks.

''He wants to see Tori..but..Niall..he's..a..sex offender.''She says lightly. Niall gulps lightly, even though Tori isn't his child, he still wants to love, care, and protect her and especially keep her safe.

''No.''Niall says coldly.Jana looks at him.''No.She's not going.''He says as if he has some kind of authority. ''Excuse me..but you can't tell me what I can and can not do with MY child.''She says, emphasis on my. He just stands there shaking his head from side to side lightly.

''You are so..fucking stupid.''He spats as he jerks his hand free.''Tori's gonna get hurt because of you.''He says and steps back away from her.''Why do you care about Tori?''She asks,raising her voice.

''Because I love her.''He says.''What about me..? Huh? That's what i fucking thought. Niall..just leave.''She says and points to the door.''Fine I will.''He says and starts walking. As he reaches the door, he turns around and says,

''By the way..I do love you. But I guess you don't love me...''He says as he slams the door shut.Jana stands there regretting everything she said. She puts her hand over her mouth as she cries. She tries to hide the noise so Tori won't hear.

Tori runs in the kitchen shortly after the slam. She looks around as she spins a few times. She stops and looks at Jana.''Where Ni Ni?''She asks. ''He's...gone.''Jana whispers to her.

''Why?''Tori says, her eyes tearing up. ''Because..Mommy was mean.''Jana says and it finally clicks in Tori's mind..Niall's not here. And he probably won't come back.

She bursts into tears..and Jana really wishes Niall had never left..
