Charlotte's POV

"Come on you idiot!" I yelled into my headset, directly towards the stranger on the other end who i was playing against in Call of Duty. Yeah this is what i was doing on my wednesday night, playing a stereotypical "boy game" in multiplayer mode with complete strangers. Don't get me wrong, i have plenty of friends but sometimes i like being alone and kick some pansy ass every once in a while on my favorite game. I apologize for my lack of "girly-ness" and my crude language, that's just me.

After a few more unfriendly come backs, I won. I threw my controller on the ground, jumping around and cheering loud enough for the whole house to hear me.
"What now mister "stealyobetch69", you just got beat by a girl!" I exclaimed into the microphone, laughing at my own remark.
"Okay i think i get it, thanks for leaving me deaf. But good game" the guy on the other end said, clearly booty hurt that he lost. What a sore loser i thought as i exited out of the game, turning off the system.

"Charlie! Family meeting in the kitchen now!" I heard my mother call out only causing me to roll my eyes and groan. Nothing good comes out of these little family meetings of hers, it was always bad news. I slowly got up off my hot pink bean bag chair, stretching a bit before jogging up the stairs out of the game room. I danced my way through the living room, gliding around the hallway towards the kitchen where i found my parents and older brother Drew standing around the kitchen island, looking rather serious. I eyed them suspiciously as i walked forward to join them.

"Whats up?" I casually asked as i took a seat on a bar stool , reaching for an apple, taking a small bite as i looked at each of their faces.
"Dad and mom need to leave again, meaning im in charge" Drew spit out, rolling his eyes as he crossed his arms across his chest as if it was no big deal. My jaw dropped to the floor along with my half eaten apple. Seriously... this is what i meant by there always being bad news.
"Andrew Logan James!" my mother hissed, sending a death glare his way.
"Are you fucking kidding me? You just came back two days ago after being gone for a month and now you have to leave again but with mom this time?" I yelled, pointing as accusing finger towards my father who didn't dare met my hard haze. I didn't know if i was feeling anger or sadness, it was a mixture of both which is never good. I felt tears build up but i refused to show weakness, it just wasn't me.

"Im sorry darling, i understand you are upset that i am always away but this is important. Something went wrong with the software we introduced in Japan so they are making me go back to see what happened, they let me bring your mother along this time around" my father said in one quick breathe, finally meeting my gaze with a hopeful look.
"I know this little software of yours matters a lot but what about your kids, do we matter?" I said between clenched teeth.

That was enough to keep him quiet. I let out a sarcastic laugh before leaping off the stool, leaving without hearing another word. I ran up the spiral staircase, jogging towards my room as soon as i reached the top. I closed the door silently behind me before locking it. I ran a trembling hand through my hair, my emotions catching up to me.. quickly.

Ever since my father started working for Black Line (a/n this is made up) he became obsessed with figuring out how to improve the software, traveling the world in attempt to sell it to other wealthy countries. His job obsession has gotten in the way of his relationship with his own family, always missing out on Drew's soccer matches and my art gallery presentations. But did he care? Of course not, because he knows we will eventually come around but not this time, i was beyond done.
I wiped away a few escaping tears before walking towards the glass door leading to my small balcony. I walked towards the railing, i rested my arms on the railing looking across the neighborhood. Nothing exciting ever happened around here, it was your typical family friendly neighborhood, paperboy and everything. I glanced up at the star filled sky, watching a few birds dance across the sky.

And at that very moment, i caught myself wondering what Harry Styles was doing this very second.

Harry's POV

"Mr. Styles, Tom is now expecting you in his office" Claire, the office receptionist spoke with a wide smile. I ran a hand through my messy curls before standing up from one of the lobbies white leather chairs. I have been waiting in our management lobby for a good twenty minutes after receiving an urgent call from Tom, the head of our management (A/N this is a made up name). Its never good when he calls you out personally, that being the reason why i wasn't looking forward to this meeting. I walked quickly down the all white hallway, white walls, white tile, white paintings.
I soon reached the all too familiar black double doors. I knocked softly before taking a step back. I was always cautious when coming to his office, he wasn't a friendly guy, far from it if i say so myself. And the fact that the rest of the boys weren't here to back me up in anything only added to my nerves.

"Come in"
I took a deep breathe before taking hold of the door knob, turning it slowly giving me access into his office. Ive only been here once before, the day me and the boys ran away for a day to escape management. And let me tell you, it was the scariest day of my life, we even had to wear tracking devices for the longest time until we gained their trust back. As i walked towards his desk i thought back through all the things ive down the past couple days trying to figure out if i was caught in anything but nothing.

"Harry, hurry up child i don't have all day" Tom spoke, breaking my train of thought. I immediately stepped up my pace, taking a seat in the chair across from his.
"Sorry sir, just trying to figure out why i am here" I said uneasily, interlocking my fingers on the table. The next thing that happened caught me by complete surprise, Mr. Sterling began to laugh. I eyed him suspiciously, not knowing what was going on. Did i say a joke?

"Styles you are not in trouble, i called you because i have an assignment for you" He said as he pulled out a manila folder.
"With all due respect Mr. Sterling, im on break right now you know... spending some time with my family before the tour beings." I said cautiously, mentally face palming myself as i saw the look on his face.
"Mr. Styles you are under a contract! you are to do as you are asked, when you are asked to do it" Tom barked back, leaving the room in an awkward silence when he finished. All i could do was nod, knowing i would say the wrong thing if i opened my mouth. Welcome to Modest Management.

"And to think i was nice enough to give you an easy one." he huffed, as he looked through the folder in disbelief. I looked down at my sweaty palms feeling my anger rage inside me, sorry for wanting some time off with my family you fucker.
"So back to what i said earlier before your ridiculous remark, you are to go to on a date with the famous Cara Delevingne in LA this Friday night at the Beverly Hills (A/N made up restaurant), the press has been informed that you will be in the city with your date. Any questions?" See when he asks if you have any questions that means there will be no questions, no if, ands or buts... Ive learned that the hard way. I took in the situation, it really wasn't a hard assignment, im actually good friends with Cara but the press insists that we are an item and that's what management wants the public to think. But i didn't agree because of that point, i had another reason to agree.

"You've never been to eager to agree on an assignment before Harold, did you catch feelings for miss Cara?" Tom asked, wiggling his bushy grey eyebrows making me feel rather uncomfortable. He would be the last person i told anything to.
"I have my reasons" I bluntly said back, gaining a frown out of Tom, clearly that wasn't the answer he wanted. After a few more exchanged words, he handed me my folder with my plane ticket and detailed instructions on what to do for the camera i left his office. As soon as i closed the double black doors behind me i felt the weight lift off my shoulders. I walked quickly out the building, ignoring anyone who called out to me.

I had two days before i was back in LA. I pulled out my phone to shoot Louis a quick text.
