Ask It

Rachel's P.O.V.

"Who are you texting?" Louis mumbled against my shoulder as my message to Skylar sent.

I sighed loudly, plopping my phone back into the clutch bag I had brought with me.

"Just Skylar.." I replied truthfully.

He raised an eyebrow.

"Rach, are you okay? You've been acting weird all night" he stated slowly, a little concerned.

I smiled slightly, pressing a quick kiss to his lips.

"I'm fine honey, promise. Just a little stressed at the minute" I told him.

I wasn't lying. I was very stressed. I knew that when Ashton and Skylar were messing around on the drums that there was something going on. And why did it bother me? I had Louis. Who honestly was so much better to me than I deserved. So why would I be hurt over the fact that Ashton and Skylar were together? Maybe it was just because I hadn't expected Ashton to get over me so quickly. Or maybe it was just because Skylar was my best friend and I hadn't expected her to be the one he moved on with. And what about Luke? I had been almost positive they were a couple.

I sighed again loudly.

"Hey Lou?" I asked, meeting his eye.

He nodded, encouraging me to go on.

"If I asked you to teach me piano, you would right?" I felt stupid asking the question, but the image of Skylar and Ashton on the drums kept flashing in my head.

"Rach, you'd never master the piano" he told me, smirking ever so slightly.

I glared at him, punching his shoulder playfully.

"Yeah but you would try teach me if I wanted you to..?" I trailed off leaving it as a question.

He rolled his eyes.

"Of course" he replied.

"Really?" I pressed.

He chuckled slightly.

"Really. Rach if you asked me to teach you fricking Chinese I would learn it just to teach you" he admitted, grinning.

I could feel my cheeks flush at that.

"Thank you" I replied shyly.

I felt a guilty pang in my stomach. I had been spending all my recent time thinking about Ashton, trying to work out how I felt. But here I had Louis, who evidently was completely devoted to me. He knew me better than anyone else on this campus (other than Harry of course) and was probably one of the most amazing friends I had ever had.

Yet honestly, after all of this thinking I just couldn't handle it anymore. I wasn't in the party mood anymore.

"You know Lou, I think I might just head back to my dorm. I'm not really in a partying kinda mood anymore" I confessed, lugging myself up off of him.

I stood up so quickly that my head began to spin. I hadn't even drank that much, but I had drank enough to be pretty tipsy.

He stood up behind me wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Babe, you really can not hold your liquor" he chuckled lowly in my ear.

I rolled my eyes.

"Can too" I argued back, though it was pointless.

He just laughed in response.

I turned in his arms to face him.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" I leaned in to give him a quick kiss goodbye.

He just raised an eyebrow.

"Oh please, there's no way in hell I'm letting you walk home alone at this hour. Just let me grab my jacket. I'll meet you by the door" he told me.

I nodded, happy to have the company.

Once he had got his jacket he met me at the door and we headed outside into the cool night air.

He laced his fingers with mine and I tightened my grasp on him, happy for the bit of warmth.

"So your -erm still up for telling Harry tomorrow?" he asked scratching the back of his neck with his free hand.

I grinned at him. He looked genuinely nervous, something I wasn't used to. He was normally so calm and collected around me. He was never nervous - which made this moment even more valuable.

"Yeah, I am" I replied softly, still smiling.

The more I thought about t, the more it made sense. Honestly, a relationship wasn't much good if we had to keep it hidden.

"Good. Good" he began mumbling.

"And, you know, when we're talking to him - what exactly will we, you know, say this is?" he continued, awkwardly.

I was so busy marvelling at how attractive he was when he was nervous that I didn't even think about what he was saying at first. Then it dawned on me. What exactly were we?

"I don't know, we haven't exactly DTR'd yet" I replied thoughtfully.

He looked at me funnily.

"We haven't what?" he asked confused.

I sighed.

"Remember when you stayed over at our house that Easter and I used to make you and Harry watch Awkward?" I began.

He nodded.

"Well they basically mention DTR-ing all the time. It means Define The Relationship" I explained.

Again, he nodded.

"Oh right. Right. Well how exactly do we, uh, do that?" he asked.

I shrugged.

"I don't know. I mean what exactly do you want to tell him?" I cautiously asked.

"Well em, I don't know, maybe that your - eh my girlfriend I guess?"

Again, I was so shocked at his nervousness.

"Okay then, you should probably ask me so" I replied seriously.

He frowned.

"Ask you? Ask you what?"

I sighed.

"To be your girlfriend of course!" I exclaimed.

He scoffed.

"You can't tell someone to ask you that Rach" he replied.

I pulled my had out of his.

"Fine then" I replied, keeping my tone as serious as possible.

He sighed.

"Rach! Rach c'mon" he tried to catch hold of my hand again but I kept it away from him.

He rolled his eyes then before wrapping his arms around me, somewhat pinning my arms to my sides.

"Okay, Rachel Styles will you pretty please with sugar on top do me the honours of being my girlfriend?" he asked softly.

I grinned.

"Well since your asking so nicely" I replied.

He chuckled, kissing my neck quickly before pulling away.

"Great"

The walk back to my room wasn't long and it wasn't until I had gotten to my door that I realised I really didn't want to say goodbye to Louis quite yet. And so I placed my hand at the back of his head, pulling down his face so that his lips met mine. The kiss got more heated and I ended up shoved against the door.

"Do you wanna come in?" I managed to whisper out breathlessly when we parted. 7

"Tricia?" he asked back,

"Visiting family" I told him.

He nodded, opening the door for me quickly, pulling me inside.

Once the door was shut his lips were on mine again, this time pushing my back so that I collapsed on the bed. I liked seeing Louis like this. So completely in control. It ended up so that on top of him, one of my legs on either side of his waist. It was only when I tugged at the hem of his t-shirt that he seemed to realise what was happening.

He pulled away ever so slightly, but I continued on kissing his neck.

"Rach!" He called out my name, but I ignored him.

He let out a moan then which just encouraged me.

"Rachel, stop!" he finally managed to push me off of him, leaning back so there was a distance between us.

I ran a hand through my dishevelled hair, feeling embarrassment flood me.

"What's wrong?" I asked, not particularly wanting an answer.

He sighed.

"Rach, you've been drinking and your obviously upset. It's not like I don't want to do this, cause trust me I do. But I just can't take advantage of you like that" he replied, ruffling his own messy hair.

"But I'm giving you the advantage to take!" I argued.

He chuckled and I knew there was no way he was gong to give in.

"Fine then. I'm going to go get changed into my pyjamas" I told him, hopping up off of the bed and heading for the bathroom after grabbing pyjamas.

I took my time in the bathroom, making sure I smelt okay and that my hair didn't look too crazy before heading back out to Louis.

He was under the covers by the time I got out.

"Excuse me but what are you doing in my bed?" I asked, folding my arms, standing at the bottom of the bed.

He just smirked.

"You didn't seem to mind me in your bed a while ago" he teased.

I rolled my eye.

"You're an asshole" I mumbled, climbing into the bed next to him.

He was wearing his t-shirt and a pair of Harry's pyjama bottoms that I had here. I felt his arm fling over my body as he pulled me closer to him.

"Goodnight girlfriend" he mumbled, kissing the top of my hair.

I chuckled at that.

"Goodnight boyfriend" I replied, chuckling at how silly it sounded.

I awoke the next morning because my feet were cold. I sat up quickly to see Louis sitting at the end of the bed. He was sitting on the covers weirdly and so my feet were exposed to the morning air.

"Where are you going?" I asked sleepily. He was fully dressed and was now putting on his shoes.

He grinned.

"Morning" he said softly.

"Where are you going?" I repeated.

"To my room. I need to get washed and dressed. But hey we'll meet up later to talk to Harry, yeah?" he asked.

I nodded.

"Awesome. Well I better get going, see you later" he replied, leaning across the bed to kiss me.

I covered my mouth with my hand quickly.

"No Louis, you can't kiss me!" I exclaimed.

He frowned.

"What why not?" he asked.

"I just woke up! I have morning breath" I explained.

He rolled his eyes.

"You're very odd Rach" he grinned, standing up.

I held out my hand for a high five instead and he just chuckled, high fiving me.

"Later" he chuckled, heading out the door.

He had only been gone a few seconds when Skylar walked through the door.

Her eyes were wide.

"I just saw Louis leaving here! You two didn't, you know, do it, did you?" she asked.

I just shrugged getting out of bed.

"I really don't see how that's any of your concern" I replied, cooly.

"Rachel-" she began but I cut her off.

"No look I'm sorry. You and Ashtons relationship is none of my business" I apologised quickly.

"But Rachel we're-" she tried explaining but again I cut her off.

"Look I'm fine with it. I'm happy for you guys. You'll definitely make a cute couple" I lied quickly, plastering on a smile.

I really didn't want her to feel bad just because I felt weird over them together. And so I headed into the bathroom quickly, not giving her a chance to say anything at all.

Comments

For some reason i am liking Ashton, i haven't finished the book yet but Louis seems tl be getting really angry and jealous. I am kind of rooting for Ashton. So far with what i have read, Ashton is a lot nicer to Rachel than Louis plus Louis is always hanging with his exes. I don't know but my opinion could change once i finish the book.

@Smile_survive44
I'm only reading this story now even though its like a year old but omg yes your comments I agree 100% with you Louis obviously cares about Rachel and yeah Ashton's a nice guy but Louis is so good to her and he even apologised to Ashton for starting a fight with him, even though Ashton was hitting on Louis' girlfriend. Louis had every right to be mad!
