Fall Quarter

Suggestions

Jasey didn't like cussing.

She didn't like apples either; a weird preference that was the result of a particularly traumatic apple-bobbing contest when she was eight. So when she was faced with what Louis called, "The World's Greatest Fucking Apple Pie," she wasn't quite sure what to do.

"No thank you," she said politely, passing the plate along to Niall who was sitting right next to her. "I'm not that hungry anymore."

The young man next to her was completely ready to dig in when the plate was suddenly snatched from under his nose. "Not even a bite?" Louis asked, pouting slightly at his new friend as he held it out to her.

"It's apple, right?"

"Yes."

"And what did you call it?"

"The World's Greatest Fucking Apple Pie."

Jasey wrinkled her nose, pushing the plate away once more. "No."

"But why not?" he whined.

"I'm not about to eat something that has the mention of... dirty business in its title."

A full blown smirk came across Louis' face. Ever since he had met Jasey, her innocent disposition highly amused him and he took great joy in ruining it, little by little. "Come on, Jase, don't be shy now. Say it."

The younger girl looked at him warily. "Say what?"

"Sex."

She folded her arms over her chest, more like hugging herself than showing defiance, however. "Is it really necessary?"

"Yes."

"And how so?"

"Because I want you to," Louis said as if it was the most obvious answer in the world.

Niall rolled his eyes, tired of the useless banter - no matter how entertaining it had been. "Come on Lou, leave her alone, we all know Jasey is practically a nun," (Jasey stuck her tongue out at him for this) "so just let me have the God damn apple pie already."

"She said she wanted a dildo once though!" his bandmate pointed out.

"I didn't know what it was!" Jasey protested. "It sounded like some cute children's toy!"

Louis snickered. "I don't know what you played with when you were a kid, Jasey, but..."

"Lou, just give me the fucking plate," Niall said in between laughs.

"Fine," Louis sighed, putting the plate back down onto the table. The two were about to sigh in relief when he suddenly picked it up again. "But Jasey has to explain to me why the number sixty-nine is inappropriate to shout out randomly again."

"LOUIS!"

Leaning on the wall opposite of where they were sitting, Harry watched in amusement at the three arguing, rolling his eyes often at Louis' ridiculous suggestions. It was really nice, getting to know these new girls that Tilly had brought along. He really had missed talking to people out of the entertainment industry. Sure, he had friends back home, but that was the problem - they were back home. Nicole and Jasey brought in a little piece of normal that all the lads missed once in a while.

Jasey.

After their first meeting, Harry couldn't get her face out of his mind. Her long brown hair and her pretty brown eyes seemed to follow him everywhere. It wasn't often that a girl would create such an impact on him.

And now that he was able to get to know her better, there were more things that stood out to him, such as the way she'd look away with a blush when she'd catch him staring at her. Or the way that she'd try and hold back laughs whenever Louis made an inappropriate joke that she for once, actually understood.

But then there was there were other things that he noticed as well.

Harry had witnessed it enough times to rule out that it was a coincidence. Each time that he, or any of the other boys (except for Liam, strangely enough), would get too close or attempt to give her a little hug, Jasey would immediately back away. Her mouth would be smiling and telling jokes in order to brush it off, but her eyes still held that frightened and almost terrified look.

What had they done to cause that sort of reaction?

"She's so cute," Liam laughed. He stood next to Harry and joined him as they watched the three, Louis still having his fun corrupting little Jasey.

"She is, isn't she?" he agreed and a chuckle escaped his mouth as Jasey actually covered her eyes, screaming, "Stop it!" as Louis proceeded to draw a diagram on the table of Lord knows what.

His bandmate looked over to him thoughtfully. The young man had a smile that hadn't been seen in a while and Liam could would have sworn his eyes were almost sparkling. "Harry..." he said slowly.

It took him a few moments to tear his eyes away from Jasey. "Yeah?"

Liam let out a single laugh. Why hadn't he seen this before? "You fancy her, don't you?"

"What?" Harry's eyebrows cinched together. Sure, Jasey was a nice girl and absolutely fit, but he wasn't quite sure if after the short time of knowing each other, he'd be able to say that yet. "We've just met her though and she's nice but-"

"Don't lie, Hazz," Liam cut in.

"But I don't-"

His friend's ringing phone was what interrupted him this time. "I have to take this," he said and then abruptly walked away.

Harry silently cursed his luck. He was sure to be teased about that now. As opposed to what the press believed, he did have standards. It wasn't as if he would simply pick a girl off the street and then date her. There were certain criteria that Harry felt needed to be met.

Well, that was how it was now, at least.

Now that he was alone again, his focus turned back to Jasey. Louis seemed to have given up on the whole corruption plot and gave Niall the pie, which the Irishman was happily devouring as the other two traded stories. Jasey's eyes drifted in Harry's direction when she felt his gaze and met with his own green ones. As he had predicted, a blush soon spread across her cheeks and she looked down with a shy smile before turning back to Louis.

Fancying Jasey?

Well, that wasn't impossible.

"Did you notice the way that Harry kept on staring at you?" Tilly whispered excitedly as she, Jasey, and Nicole walked back to their dorm room from the parking lot.

"Don't be ridiculous," Jasey said, but hid her face behind her hair as she did. She was sure that her rosy cheeks would give her away as they usually did.

Actually, she did notice. It was kind of hard not to, with the way that Harry's eyes never seemed to quite move away from her. His green orbs would always be examining her movements, crinkling in laughter at something she said, or just simply looking. It was kind of creepy, if she had to be honest. Flattering, but creepy.

Nicole laughed, bumping her roommate lightly on the hip. "You seem to have a little crush on him yourself," she teased.

"What? No!" Jasey quickly defended.

"Says the girl who keeps on blushing when she hears his name."

"I do not!"

Her friend smirked. "Tilly, what do you think?" Nicole asked, gripping Jasey's shoulders as she examined her face. "Blushing?"

Tilly took one look. "Blushing," she agreed with a confirming nod.

"You guys are impossible," Jasey grumbled, twisting out of her friend's hold and marching to their door.

"You know you love us!" Nicole laughed, following after her.

"And Harry!" her other roommate couldn't help but adding.

Jasey groaned and kept walking, trying to keep any thoughts of a certain curly-haired UK popstar out of her mind.

But why was it so hard?
