Niall

It felt like I was trapped, everything felt like it was closing on me even though I wasn't even in a tight space. My eyes blinked rapidly, trying to get my vision clear from the endless tears of exhaustion and dirt that filled the air, making my chest ache when ever I drew breath
.
No matter how hard I tried I couldn't find it, the green ruby, my ticket out of this hell whole. It felt liked I'd been in here for weeks or was it months? Everything felt like I'd stuck my whole body on fire and the fire contiuned to burn, eaiting everything up in side of me.

I learnt to avoid the water and the huge stones that were rising out of the water, they had a tendacy of falling over. I found many small wholes in the rocks that surounded this place and could get some sleep in there, maybe a few minutes or half an hour again, then back to desporatly trying to find the gem.

But slowly my will and determination had been diminishing. I had never felt so weak in my short life. My head span as I slumped agaisn't a piece of rock, near the river. My eyes fluttered closed and my breathing slowed. I tried to think back to my demigod friends but even my memory was not all there, I could barly remember what they looked like...

My memory of them was like an old painting, with bits scatched out and some bits still slowly going, even the memory of my mother was not the same and I had lived with her all my life...
I couldn't go on like this...

"Niall..."

"Niall.."

"Demigod.."

"Son of the Oceon"

"Don't give up Niall Hoan, you will see your friends again"

"Trust me"

I shot up from my deadly sleep and grabbed my head. The voice was pure power, its voice rattled in my mind making me grasp my head in agony.

Who or What was that?

"See the light that you have missed..."The voice murmured.

Suddenly an earre white glow filled the area, I watched transfixed as a stange ball of white light floated towards me, stinging my eyes as it was so hard to look at.

"You were so close young one...look up"

I did what the voice told me to do then I gasped at what I saw, something sparkling and glowing in the rocks just above me head. The Green Gem...I laughed in pure releaf, it took me a moment to relise I was crying, crying in relief. I stumbled to my feat, almost falling over but I steadied myself and reached out, my hand shaking as my hand grasped the green Gem as I touched it the voice vibrated through my head again, coursing me to wince in pain.

"You now have a choice son of the Oceon, You can either finish your test here and hope your friends make it out alive and wait for them at the end of the maze or you can help one of your friends, who has fallen so deep even I can not reach him, not without my calling"

I almost didn't hear him, the strange buzzing in my ears getting the best of me and I was sooo thirsty then a surge of hope lit my heart, I could get out of this maze? But what about my friends?

"I-I'm not sure" I said slowly, my voice cracking with dryness.

"You need to make a choise soon Niall Horan"The voice said...

"I...guess then...I-if I don't r-reget this then I-I...choose"
