Percy Jackson/1D And The Creators Horn

The Riddles Pit

Harry

Harry was standing in front of two wooden doors, Thomas was standing next to him, each door had two sets of numbers, the door to his left showed 10982 demigods had went in and 10865 had come out, over 100 kids have died Harry thought, feeling sick.

The door to his right showed 10568 kids had come in and 10368 kids had come out, Harry shuddered thinking about it.

Harry decided to chose the door on his left, based on the fact more kids seemed to have survived it. He pulled it open and walked in side, Harry's eyes widened as he saw what was inside.

Harry stared as he looked at a huge empty hole in the floor, well it looked more like a pit really, he looked like he was on a cliff, looking downwards into nothing..Just darkness...That's all there was...

Harry with a sickening jolt realised if he'd stepped to far he would of fallen down into the unknown....

Suddenly he heard Thomas's voice even though he couldn't see him anywhere as Thomas's voice said creepily "Welcome to the Riddles pit, watch your step"

Harry stepped forward slightly then something went crunch! Underneath his foot. Harry quickly looked down, his eyes widening as he saw a piece of scroll underneath his foot.

Harry hesitated and picked it up, he unraveled it. There was some sort of poem inside? No not poem, a riddle. Harry started to read it out, he felt an uneasy feeling inside his stomach. It said...

"A step into air.
A step into nothing you will go.
Right on top of the evils lair.
Where lives a terrifying foe.
If you fail.
You will meet his dark embrace.
So inhale.
And get ready for the chase."

Harry stared at the riddle, what was that meant to mean? He read the first to lines, that sounded like...No! No way was he doing that! Suddenly the small rocky platform he was standing on made a creaking sound and started to crumble. Oh hades!

"Step into nothing you will go"

So step of this cliff into the pit?! He couldn't do that! Then the platform gave another shudder as cracks began to appear. The platform was going to give any second! Harry looked at the riddle.
Reading the beginning again and again.

"Step into air. Step into nothing you will go. Right on top of-"

Harry stopped suddenly realising something, Right! Right on top of the evils lair. The two first lines of the riddle were telling him to step of the platform into nothing. And the third line...

Just then the platform collapsed, Harry turned to the right quickly and still going in that direction he stepped of of the cliff into nothing. As soon as Harry stepped of the platform, he almost stumbled as he suddenly was able to lift himself into a standing position, he wasn't falling?!

Harry looked down, he was shocked as he saw a piece of rock, as thick and straight as a cement block, floating in thin air. Harry realised he'd left the riddle back on the platform, what did it say again? The ending bit of the riddle seemed important for some sort of reason...

"If you fail
You will meet his dark embrace.
So inhale.
And get ready for the chase."

Harry had a feeling he defiantly didn't want what ever that was in the pit to embrace him, he couldn't fail, so inhale? Hesitantly Harry sucked in some breath then breathing out again, inhaling, just as he done that the rock he was standing on started to shake.

Harry watched with huge eyes as rocks started to fly out of the pit and clutter together, attaching on to each other and to start hovering around where the rock he was standing on was. The rocks formed a shaky floor and he realised that another scroll was lying in front of him, he slowly put his foot out stepping on the now shaking rocky floor that covered the pit and picked up the scroll and read out the riddle, feeling an uneasiness and dread grip him.

"Red means danger.
Beware.
Or you might fall into the arms of a dark stranger.
The footsteps of him will meet you there.
The chase begin.
Then his bidding will be done.
There will be all types of sin.
All you have to do is run"

Harry's heart thudded hard in his chest, a sence of foreboding swirled around him. Suddenly the rocky ground shook. Red Lights flashed.

Wait.

Red lights?

Harry's eyes widened as he looked to the right of him, further to the right of the pit something glowing with a red light, Harry warily walked over to it. A flash of pure shock vibrated through him, the red glowing light was coming from a foot print?

One red glowing footprint had appeared on the rocky ground in front of him. Suddenly the ground shook and Harry stumbled, when he gained his balance, he let out a gasp of surprise, there were now two red glowing footprints, both facing in his direction. It was like he was facing an invisible enemy, only the red glowing footprints showing him where it was.

Three lines of the riddle stood out for Harry as the ground shook again and the red footprints moved towards him.

"Red means danger"
"The footsteps of him will meet you there"
"All you have to do is run!"

The third line was pretty clear and as the ground shook and the red glowing foot prints crept closer, closer and closer. Harry ran. The chase had truly started.

Harry ran to the left, away from the door where he'd come from, the footprints didn't creep any more, the rocky ground shook underneath Harry as the foot prints moved towards him faster.
It was like an invisible giant walking towards him, the ground shaking underneath its foot steps.
Harry didn't know where to go, he looked back to where he'd come from but the door was shut, completely locked.

Harry looked around, dodging falling rocks and the footprints. It were pretty easy to stay out of there way, they were glowing red footprints, he'd have to be blind not to see them. Though he seemed blind while searching for an exit, where ever he went looked, there was no other door or any other exit that seemed to get him of the pits entrance, just then another scroll appeared out of thin air.

Harry bent down to pick it up, only to realise the glowing footprints where inches near him and a menacing presence filled the air. Harry didn't know what would happen if the footprints touched him but he guessed nothing good would come of it. Suddenly the footprints vanished just as they were about to touch him.

Harry let out a long breath of relief. Silence overcame the air as Harry reached down and picked up the scroll and read out the riddle.

"Better watch out.
The inward maze will come.
No one will hear you scream and shout.
Where he will summon.
The beast of nightmare.
You will face his spawn.
And meet his torcheres stare.
The hunt is on."

Suddenly as soon as Harry read the riddle the whole floor in front of him shook. Harry almost lost his balance as walls rose from the ground, from the black pit that was underneath him. Harry's heart got stuck in his throat once he realised the walls were made from bones and skeletons. Skulls stared at it him with there blank eye sockets. The bone walls formed a different directions around him, one of them came up from behind him, shutting of the door where he'd come from, two others came up from his sides, making sure there was only one way he could move, forward.

Slowly the ground stopped shaking and as Harry walked forwards he realised the walls hadn't just been formed around him, they'd created a small maze.. A Maze within a Maze.

A inward Maze.

A inward Maze, just like the riddle had said.

Harry soon came to where the skeleton walls had formed four paths, Harry knew he had to chose one. They all looked the same, each of them leading to darkness, he could only see blacknes in them. As the ground gave a little quake, Harry chose the far left one and before he talk himself out of it Harry started to walk down in.

The silence felt sinister and got Harry's heart pumping hard around his body in fear and panic.
The darkness suddenly rose to show Harry he had walked into a dead end? A skeleton wall was in front of him but there was a scroll tied to a skull in the middle that jutted out slightly.

Harry noticed that there was a hour glass by the side of the wall? He picked the scroll up and read it out aloud.

"Answer this riddle before your time is up"

The Hour glass suddenly floated in the air and twisted around, the sand slowly falling into the other side. Harry didn't have a lot of time as he read out the riddle.

"I am so light.
Lighter than a feather.
But not even the strongest mortals can lift me.
Not even if they work together."

Harry stared blankly at the riddle, what was that meant to mean? The constant sound of the sand in the hour glass reminded him he didn't have a lot of time. What was lighter than a feather? That no mortal can lift? Did that mean Demigods could lift it? Or gods could lift it?

So it should be something physical that, hold on! Why did it have to be something physical? If it wasn't physical and mabye some gods could lift it, maybe one Olympian god in particular?

Zeus.

The Sky.

Air.

Harry said quickly just before the sand timer ran out "Air! Air!"

The Hourglass froze in the air then slowly settled down again, then the ground shook as Harry watched wide eyed as the wall in from of him shook and slowly came up, giving way to a secret passage. Again he couldn't see anything in front of him, all there was, was darkness.

Harry wished he had a Leo's fire power as he walked underneath the wall and onto the dark passage way. But from what happened next Harry wished he'd gotten the riddle wrong. Suddenly as soon as he stepped into the darkness all the skeleton walls around him disappeared and chains appeared out of no where, tying themselves onto him and pulling, pulling so hard that Harry thought his spine would stretch.

Harry screamed in pain as an evil voice whispered inside his head (The next test is torcher, how long can you with stand it before you break little hero?)

The voice was ancient and dark, it made Harry's insides feel as cold as nitrogen, like they'd frozen inside him.

Hundreds of metal heavy chains wrapped around his arms and legs, they cut into his skin and pulled...and pulled....and pulled!

Each pull Harry let out a scream of agony, soon he could scream no more as his screams turned silent, it was like he'd lost his voice. But again the chains started to pull slowly, stretching him.

Harry had read somewhere about this type of torcher, normal mortals used to use it in olden days, he'd learn that somewhere in what little he remembered of his history classes.

"Aaaaaaaaaagghhh! Aaagh!!" His cries bellowed across the pit, echoing and making Harry wince, did he really sound like he was that much in pain. They pulled. He screamed. Was this how he would die? Would he be stretched so much his spine would break in half? It felt like it was going to any second.
They pulled again...
He screamed again...

The ancient, evil voice started to speak to him in his head again (Answer this riddle and maybe I'll let you go)

Answer a bloody riddle why he was being stretched to his death? No way!

"I'm half and half.
Yet I am not.
But don't get on my bad behalf.
Or I'll leave you there to rot.
I'm giving you the answer
So hear my cry.
I'm destined to be your ruler
So little hero what am I?"

Harry couldn't think straight let alone figure out a riddle thought something struck him incredibly important about this riddle and the tone of the evil strange voice. It was the type of tone his teachers used when they'd given him a trick question where the answer was staring him right in the face and yet he still couldn't work it out.

It was rather like this situation yet then he wasn't being slowly torn apart by chains and his punishment if he got the question wrong wasn't death. There wasn't anything staring him in the face, not what Harry could see but that voice...

Harry gasped out not being able to take the pain much longer as the chains pulled harder 'Y-You, the answer is you!"

Everything was silent at first then Harry suddenly relised with pure horror, the floor made up of stones had crumpled and now Harry was staring into a black, dark abyss inside a huge pit like creator but in creators you could see the botten, with this you couldn't. It was a pit that looked like a black hole, as a strange sucksion came onto him, as if the pit was trying to pull him in.

Only the chains held him steady.

Then.

It happened.

He heard the voice hiss in his ear like it was right next to him "Wrong answer"

It laughed.

The chains around him dropped.

Nothing was holding him up.

Harry fell, down, down he went.

Evil laughter cackled in his ears "You failed" An dark powerful voice echoed inside his head.

Harry didn't scream, he didn't think he had enough energy to scream, it was all to much.

Harry squeezed his eyes shut and waited for the impact, a sharp pain sliced into his head and his body thudded to the ground, the impact shaking him throughout, pure pain agonised his body quite suddenly then...

Everything went black

Notes

Oh no whats happened to Harry? And there was a reference to something that will happen in my series, its basically giving away the whole plot of my series, though you probably won't be able to get it yet ;)

Next is Zayns pov, despite this you will find out where Harry has fallen, well you will if you put the pieces together, once Zayns chapter is done :D

Unless you've worked it out already, there were quite a few hints through out my story at where the demigods will end up and where Harrys gone, though it'll be more spelled out for you in Zayns pov :) If you have tell guessed, tell me and i'll tell you if you're right or not!

Anyway hope you enjoyed reading and have a good night, or day, wherever you are :)
