My teacher smiled at me nastily.

I gulped, feeling very nervous, suddenly the door opened and my English teacher came barging through.

"What are you doing? His mine!" she hissed at her.

My maths teacher growled angrily, actually growled "No! I found him first!"

What was going on?

Was it me or had their voice's changed? Like deeper and more animal like?

"Liam?"

I saw a girl with stormy eyes quickly came in. The first thing I saw was...Why-is-she-carrying-a-sword?

I stiffen quickly, she looked 19 years old.

"Come with me while there distracted" she told me.

"No! Why?" I snapped "Who are you anyway? And why are you acting like we're in some kind of danger?"

She suddenly looked pissed of "I said come with me! Sandie told me what's been-"

I tried to pull away but she was surprisingly strong.

"You know Sandie? What are you-?"

Suddenly an ugly angry growl cut me of, I turned around slowly. My eyes widened as I faced where my teachers used to be standing, two huge lizards like creatures with a strange crown on their heads. If I didn't know any better I'd say they looked like huge lizards.

They were staring at the girl and me angrily. One of them slowly stalked towards us. The girl held her sword infront putting her self in between me and those two things. I stood there, frozen, my brain trying to process what what was happening. But I didn't protest as the girl grabbed my arm and pulled me with her...We ran.

Soon we were outside, I saw four cheerleaders blocking our exit smiling wickidly at us.

"Stop there darling" one of them said.

I could already see their shapes begin to shift. The girl groaned and sent me an irritated glare.
"How many monsters are in this school?" she snapped.

I growled back "I don't know that do I? What the hells going on?"

"You're going to die darling that's what's going on" One of the cheerleaders sneered.

I didn't look at her\it refusing to believe that the cheerleaders were becoming monsters before my eyes.

"Not on my watch" The girl growled.

"Stay there" she told me then she threw herself at the monsters.

I gaped, not sure what to do as I saw her bring out her sword as they started to fight. I stood there feeling helpless suddenly one of those lizard type monsters turned round the corner to where we were. The lizard creature stared at me hungerly then charged.

The girl yelled "Liam!"

Before I knew it I had taken out my New York statue and squeezed it, back then I guessed it was on instinct that I prayed to my father but I know now why I did it, I can't remember what I said or asked for but all I know is he listened.

I suddenly felt a weight in my hands and a low thud as somthing connected into my stomach. Where my statue used to be a big bulky rusty sword seemed to have taken its place. I acted on instinct, lifting the sword up and thrusting it upwards. The monster was empaled on my sword.
It gave one agonising screech then turned to dust before my eyes...What the?

I jumped as the girl came rushing towards me. The monsters she'd been fighting had turned to dust to. She smiled at me as she held out her hand and I took it slowly.

"Well done, you've just taken down your first monster" She said it like I should be proud.

I gawped at her "Look what's going on?"

She sighed like she gets these sorts of questions of the time.

"Come with me and I'll explain everything"

I stared at her for a couple of seconds, I had no idea who she was but she did help me escape those...Things. But what the hell? I needed answers and she had them.

I was trying not to break down in front of her or scream. So slowly not able to speak all of a sudden, I nodded. She smiled and said "Okay, let's go, when we're there I'll tell you everything, then I'll have a bone to pick with Sandie about why there where so many mosters watching you"

This was all to confusing, my head felt like it was spinning and my heart was thudding hard in my chest.So I decided to nod along and look like I knew what I was doing. Then we walked or in my case dragged along, I realised I was no longer was holding a sword but my New York statue.

A question quickly formed in my mind but- "Your grandfather already knows whats going on" She said.

At my questioning look she said with a shrug "Normal kids around this time ask about their loved ones, it was only logical on what you were going to ask"

I said the most intelligent thing that came into my mind "Huh"

Suddenly a growl came from behind us. The girl swore then started running. Me flailing behind. A car pulled up in front of us, Sandie was behind the wheel.

"Get in! Get in!" she yelled, the girl pulled me into the car fast.

I could hear monstrous growls coming closer, slammed the door shut.

Sandie slammed her hoof on the...Wait! Hoof?

Before I could say anything or think anything the girl turned to me and said as we speeded down the road. "By the way I didn't introduce myself, my names Annebeth".
