Liam’s P.O.V

I look out over the mountains in Montana enjoying the view and silence. The past few years have been hectic. We have broken many records in the world thanks to our fans, we have been captured, we have been on tour again, and now we are going to be getting married. Kate still has many secrets to tell but I guess in due time they will surface up. il. I know that she can’t reveal everything. The time we have now has been perfect for us to reveal more of ourselves to the other. I have learned she hasn’t killed anyone but she does know at least 20 different ways to kill and not leave a trace. Which is a little scary to think about. I pull out the letter that I received when we were heading out to the airport. I haven’t even looked at since it was pushed into my hand by someone in the crowd.

I hear Kate walking up behind me. I put the letter into the jacket pocket hoping she didn’t notice. Thankfully she didn’t because she was strapping on one of her smaller pistols to her thigh. She looked lovely in the long red dress she was wearing. It is my favorite dress on her. I really loved the slit that stops mid thigh. There has only been one other time besides now that she has worn a dress outside of being at awards shows.

“Ready to go? My parents are waiting downstairs.” I say when I finally manage to find my words.

“Yeah I am ready to go. I am just really nervous. What if your parents hate me?” Kate says as she put on her heels again not something she normally wears.

I have to laugh at that because I have never heard her say she was nervous. “They are going to love you just as much I do. If they don’t then they will have to get over the fact that we are going to get married.” I say as we head downstairs to my awaiting parents. I have to admit this was making me nervous as well.

Before we can make it out the door Kate's phone goes off. I thought that both of us agreed that we were to leave our phones off for the entire break.

“Sorry Liam I have to take this. Sam is calling. Don't give me that look. We agreed no phone calls unless its from family, and Sam is family. Besides she wouldn't be calling unless it is very important.” she says as she walks to the bedroom to take the call in private leaving me at a loss for words once again. If Sam is calling then that means one of the other lads have received a threatening note as well. Damn it , now Kate is going to be tense to actually enjoy some time off and make a good impression on my parents. I am hoping that I am just over reacting.

Just as I am about to knock on the door to tell Kate to hurry up she walks out with a smile that looks almost way to happy; almost as if she is putting on a fake smile.

"So what was the call about?" I ask as she takes my hand and guides me out the door and onto the lift.

"Sam just wanted to say she is now engaged to Niall, and wanted to make sure we were safe. She mentioned a threatening letter Niall received and she got a threatening message on twitter. I really hate to ask but did you receive one?" she replies once the doors are shut and we are the only ones.

I don’t reply right away determining if I should lie or not.

"No nothing out of the ordinary. Just the usual threats." I don't even bother looking at her because if I do she will know I am lying.

Instead I look at her in the mirror that covers the lifts walls. The look on Kate's face is enough to scare a veteran of a SEAL team into giving up all their secrets. I quickly look away and regain my composure before I can give anything away.

"Well then I hope you're ready to start training it was to be optional. Now that one of you lot have received a threatening letter you are now going to have to train with me. No if, ands, or buts, got that Payno?" And with that the door to the lift open.

When we exit the lift we almost run right into Darren. Well this just got all the more nerve racking.

"Whoa sister when did you grow up and become beautiful? Liam your parents sent me to see if you two were ever going to join us." Darren says without looking at us. It seems that continually scanning for threats runs in the family.

"Kate did you know your brother was going to be here?" I ask my voice shaking with nerves.

"Yes I did know. I asked your parents if it would be alright for him to join us. Especially considering I haven't exactly told him we are engaged. I wanted him to find out the same time your parents did." she says as she looped her arm through mine and we follow Darren to where our little party is waiting for us.

Kate' P.O.V

It's getting close to the time Liam and I are supposed to meet his parents as well as Darren, but Liam doesn't know that Darren will be joining us. I have never been more nervous in my life. Taking on large armies no problem, dealing with a pissed off brother no problem, public speaking no problem. This was different. This is the first time I will be meeting his parents in person. Yeah I talked with his parents on video chat; but meeting them in person is nerve racking.

I sat on the bed trying to decide what to wear to dinner. Liam wouldn't tell me where we were going all he told me was it was a fancy restaurant and to dress as if I was going to an awards show. I began to pace around the room looking at the two options that I have picked out. One was a suite that I wore to a couple of award shows ( and a couple of times at the academy when I got into trouble and had to go to the head principal), the other was a dress Liam had gotten me for my birthday a couple of years ago. The dress also happened to be Liam's favorite on me.

I guess I'll go with Liam's favorite. The only problem with dresses is it is difficult to conceal a firearm. Thankfully I have a smaller pistol that conceals well on my thigh. As I'm strapping it on Liam walks in and of course notices the dress and what I'm doing.

As I'm strapping my heels on I start to feel my stomach turning over. Liam walks over and stands against the wall.

"Kate are you ready to go?" Liam asks in his I know you too well to lie voice.

“Yeah I am ready to go. I am just really nervous. What if your parents hate me?” I say hesitantly.

"Why are you laughing at me" I say as I glare at him when i hear him starting to laugh. I don’t hear a response as I finish strapping on my heels.

“They are going to love you just as much I do. If they don’t then they will have to get over the fact that we are going to get married.”He tells me as he moves over to hug me as we make our way to the door.

Of course my phone goes off at that moment. When I look down Sam’s name appears on the screen. I should have known she has the worst timing sometimes. The look on Liams face tells me he is not very happy that someone is calling me. The look only last a second before he brings his face back to a smile. Good thing I can read people really well.


“Sorry Liam I have to take this. Sam is calling. Don't give me that look. We agreed no phone calls unless its from family, and Sam is family. Besides she wouldn't be calling unless it is very important.” I say as I make my way to the bedroom so Liam can’t hear what is being said. “ “Hey Sam how is Ireland and how is your Irishman?” I say before anyone else can get a word in because that just what I do. All I hear is that Sam is now engaged and Rachel is happy for her.

" I knew it was going to happen. You two are so cute together its almost sickening.” I say with my usual Kate sassiness.

Sam has now repeated what she said after we quit listening. which would be the part where she told us she was engaged. Well there goes my happy night. Once we both say we will get back to Sam once we asked if our guys have gotten any threatening letters we hang up. I let out a little string of whispered curses before I put a smile back on my face hoping Liam would still think that there wasn’t any bad news.

I catch Liam up to speed on what was happening with Sam and Niall once we are in the elevator safe from eavesdroppers. l finally manage to ask him if has received any threatening letters that were out of the ordinary. Liam stays silent for a minute before turning to face the wall away from me. When he does respond he still doesn’t look at me. When he does look at me it’s only in the mirror of the elevator wall, and I give him the look that will make a seasoned spy break their silence on the darkest secrets they hold. Liam looks away when he sees my expression in the reflection. I tell him that he now has to train with me regardless. Luckily for him the elevator doors open and he escapes with me just a second behind.

“Whoa sister when did you grow up and become beautiful? Liam your parents sent me to see if you two were ever going to join us.” Darren says casting a sideways glance at me. Leave it to Darren to make a situation really awkward.

Liam asks me if I knew Darren was going to show up. I wasn’t going to lie. “Yes I did know. I asked your parents if it would be alright for him to join us. Especially considering I haven't exactly told him we are engaged. I wanted him to find out the same time your parents did." I reply looping my arm through Liams and guiding him behind Darren.
