Notorious

As Harry drove the car back out the forest, I pulled out my tin and began to roll a joint, slowly grinding the bud and carefully caressing the paper with my tongue. I placed it in between my lips and sparked it, straight away the smoke hit the back of my throat. After a few more drags I offered it up to Harry, and I was surprised when he accepted and took a couple heavy drags. The closed windows of the car kept the smoke inside and as we both finished off the joint, it created a perfect hotbox and we were well and truly stoned.

Harry pulled up at a 24 hour fast food place. We both exited the car, admiring the world as we walked, he placed his hand in mine and opened the door, placing a gentle kiss on my cheek. We slid into a booth and for the first time tonight, actually looked into each other's eyes and smiled.

"I'm sorry for being distant Kay, I was in shock, I mean you killed her, someone you cared about and-"

"You were in shock, I understand Harry" I said putting my hand on his.

"But you cared about Dani, and you knew her longer than me...would you ever...do the same to me?" His red squinting eyes dropped to his lap.

"Honestly, if you changed like she did... Yes, I have to protect my friends, and if you become a threat to mine or there safety like Dani did, I'd kill you" I sighed, my words sounding sharper than intended, "but I know you would never do that Harry" I whispered, rubbing my thumb along his knuckle.

"I'd never try to hurt you Kay, never" he sealed his promise with a kiss, but in the back of my mind I couldn't help but remember a similar promise made by Danielle two years earlier.

*flashback*

"Happy Seventeenth Birthday Kay!" Dani squealed as she barged through the door and handed me a small present, I looked down and admired the perfectly wrapped parcel in my hands. "Open it silly" she said excitedly. Shredding the packaging it revealed a small box, lifting the lid I discovered two bracelets, my eyes found Danielle's and I gave her a slight look of confusion. She shook her head and giggled' "one for me and one for you Kay" Dani announced as she wrapped one around my wrist.

"This bracelet is a symbol, and as our group grows I want you to know that I will always be on your side, always" Dani wrapped me in a hug and put on her own bracelet, flashing me a bright smile.

*end of flashback*

"Kay, Kay you alright?" Harrys voice brought me back to reality

"Yeh sorry I zoned out, must be the high" I brushed off the incident casually

"That was some strong stuff, who gave you it?"

"Who do you think?" I giggled sarcastically

Harrys eyes went wide in realisation, "Zayn!"
