Seventeen Shades of Blue
The Interview
"Luke." I said, glaring at him.
"Nice to see you. Please, have a seat." He said, smiling his famous smile. The smile I fell in love with. I took a deep breath, sitting in his leather chair.
"Kept the chair. How sweet." I said to him. He rose an eyebrow.
"Yes, my ex-girlfriend gave it to me. Of course I'd keep it." He said, smirking. I looked away, rolling my eyes. "So, you want a job, eh?" No. I'm just here hunting elephants.
"Yes. Yes I am." I said. He nodded, sitting in his chair. The other one I bought, when I had money. He looked over my application, raising his eyebrow every now and then. I looked around, taking a deep breath. I looked at his pictures, seeing if he had a new girl.
"Do you have any recommendations?" Luke asked. I nodded, handing him the papers. He read them through, nodding, and raising his eyebrow every now and then. He tossed it on his desk. I crossed my arms. "Well, I call if your hired." He said, rocking back and forth in my chair.
"Fine." I said standing up. He looked at me, and smiled.
"It was nice seeing you, Erin. I've missed you. You and your, blue eyes." He said. I flinched, then stormed out. Don't hire me. Please don't hire me. I hopped on the elevator, pressing the button for the lobby. The doors closed. I clutched the bars in the back, trying not to cry. I bit my lip, and closed my eyes. I took a few deep breaths.
I opened my eyes as the bell rung. I stepped out. The lady was talking to some guy, twirling her hair. The guy was flexing his arms, adding an even more annoying scene to haunt me tonight. I stepped out into the hot, summer air.
I walked to my truck. As I held the door handle, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I picked it up, answering the phone, figuring it was just Kenzie asking how the interview went.
"Hey." I said, casually.
"Your hired."
