Winthrope Abbey

Chapter 2

They watched as the girl with curly blonde hair walked past their room. There was a collective sigh from both of them as they realized she would not be living with them.

“Be glad.” Said Charlotte.

“What do you mean?” Asked Sophia

“That girl, the one throwing a hissy fit, is Penelope George.” She explained, as though that would explain it all.

“Who’s that?” Sophia said with confusion clear on her face.

“Penelope is the Daughter of Princess Isabella and her father is a Captain in the British Navy.”

“So why isn’t she a Princess?”

“Well by blood right she is, however her mother didn’t want to burden her daughter with a royal title like her own.But if you asked Penelope, the lack of said title is the real burden.” Replied Charlotte.

“I take it you don’t like her much.” Stated Sophia.

“I don’t really know her well enough.Just things I’ve heard from others and the few occasions I have met her. She is anything less than polite. She probably won’t be an ally to either one of us, but you definitely don’t want to make her your enemy.” She warned.

“Oh, hello!” They heard from the doorway and watched as a petite girl with big, wavy hair came through the door.

“I’m Juliet. I’m supposed to be rooming in here too.”

“I’m Charlotte and this is Sophia.” Charlotte said pointing to herself and Sophia.

“So I guess we’re all in this small room together then?” Juliet asked.Sophia couldn’t help but notice how soft her voice was.

“Yeah. We’re still waiting on the other two though.” Sophia told her.

“So just pick any bed you want, but that one,” Charlotte said while pointing to her own bed, “or that one.” Pointing to the one Sophia had chosen earlier.

“Who’s is that one?” Juliet asked looking at the bottom bunk where Sophia’s bag was.
“That would be mine.”Sophia said.

“Well would you mind if I took the top one.”

“Oh no. Go right ahead.” She said.

Sophia watched as the tiny girl climbed up the steps to the top. “I think I’ll like it up here.I’m actually bigger than anyone else for once.” Juliet said making the other two girls laugh.

They heard a knock on the open door and turned around to see who it was.

“Am I interrupting?” A girl with sporty clothes on asked as she approached them.

“No. No. Just chatting.” Said Charlotte.

Extending her hand out to Charlotte the girl introduced herself to them. “I’m Audrey Clark.”

“Is your father Dylan Clark?” Asked Juliet.

“Um, yeah he is?” She said hesitantly.

“Oh, well that’s my father’s favorite Football player.” Stated Juliet.

“Yeah my dad loves him, too.” Smiled Charlotte.

“Never heard of him.” Sophia said shrugging her shoulders.

“You’ll have to excuse her, she’s American.” Charlotte joked to Audrey.

“That’s quite alright. You might be the only person here who won’t judge me on my dad.” She said honestly.Sophia smiled at her.She knew exactly how it felt to be judged based solely on everyone knowing what her father does.Ever since he went from Fetch to creating News Flash, she found that everyone came with preconceived notions of who her family was. “Well you won’t find any judgment from me.” She said holding her hands up in defense.

“A matter of fact, probably no one at this school will feel judgment from me.Considering I’m the only American here. Well me and my little brother.” Sophia told them.

“You have a little brother?” Asked Audrey.

“Yeah, he’s 14 and his name is Maddox.”

“Oh.I have a brother who’s 14, too.And one who’s 11, 8, and my older half brother who’s 20.” Said Audrey.

“Wow, you have quite a large family.” Said Juliet.

“Don’t you have any siblings?” Asked Charlotte.

“Nope. One and only.” She told her.

“Wish I was the only one, then my father wouldn’t have sent me here to prove a point.” Charlotte said.

“What point was that?” Asked Audrey.

“The point that he and my mother only screwed up one daughter and not the other.” She replied.

See earlier this year Charlotte’s older sister, Grace, had a very well publicized breakdown. She would often be photographed coming out of clubs at 5 in the morning. She had been seen publicly drunk in the streets of Paris. And had been caught with a married actor, making out on a holiday in the Mediterranean. But what really forced Charlotte’s parents to finally step in and do something was when she set said married boyfriend’s country home on fire. That seemed to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. And now of course, all of Charlotte’s father’s attention was focused in on her.He just didn’t want her to follow in Grace’s footsteps.

“I guess there is just one more we are waiting on.” Said Sophia after the awkward silence.

“Oh that would be Emma, but she won’t be here till tomorrow.” Juliet informed them.

“Do you know her?” Asked Charlotte.

“Yes, her father and mine have known each other for quite some time,” she said, “She’s very nice.I think you’ll all like her.”

“So, Sophie” Charlotte said, “have you toured the campus yet?”

“No.But I think my dad and I were going to this afternoon. You know after we brought all my stuff in.”

“Oh, no let us show you around.” Said Juliet.

“Yeah come on.You’ll have so much more fun with us.” Charlotte joined in.

“Okay. Let me go tell my dad.”

Sophia walked out of the room with a giant smile on her face.Maybe being in her room with four others wasn’t going to be so bad.She could tell that they were all going to get along, well at least 4 of the 5; she still hadn’t met Emma after all.

Just as Sophia was about to go outside to go find her father, she ran straight into someone. Hard.So hard in fact it knocked them both down. She landed on top of him, and immediately began to apologize.

Thinking that he would just accept the apology and help her up, she was shocked with what she was about to hear. “You should be sorry?”

“What?” She said getting up off the floor.

“I said you should be sorry.” He replied brushing himself off. “I don’t understand why we have to have girls at this school.” She heard him say underneath his breath.

She was appalled at the way he was acting. He didn’t even know her and he was acting so rude.

“Listen, I didn’t see you and I’m sorry. You can either accept that or not.” Sophia stated angrily.

“Fine. Just watch yourself next time.” He said with still some annoyance in his voice.

Sophia decided to ignore it and introduce herself instead. “Well, I’m Sophia. I guess you’re at the Winter House too.”

“Harry. And yes I am.Now if you’ll excuse me I have something else to do besides make small talk.” He said while pushing past her.

“Bye.” Sophia said to herself, rolling her eyes.Is every boy at this school going to be so welcoming, she thought sarcastically before going to find her dad again.

Hope you liked Chapter Two.

Question: Okay so I have 15 chapters all written out. Should I post all of them or stagger them out a little bit, like post one every few hours or once a day? Let me know in the comments. Thanks!

Oh and if there are any questions about the story don't be afraid to ask.

@alove23

I know right? I could stare at that gif all day :)

@ericajaine

This might be one of my favorite chapter's that I've posted so far. Oh and Evelyn is worse next chapter because the next chapter is the article she wrote about the play. She's less than nice in that.

Sorry I miss spoke it's the chapter after this one.

LOVE annoyed Harry ;)
