Worlds Apart

Picture Perfect

Alayna’s POV:
“Wake up.” Am I dead? It seems that an angel is whispering into my ears. “Abby, we’re here” Abby? I think this angel got the wrong girl. “Abby? Who? Look, I think you brought the wrong girl to heaven.” I giggled without opening my eyes. You know when you slept so well that you can’t even open your eyes no matter how hard you try? I’m having one of those moments.

“Abby? Heaven?” The angel chuckled and shook me. “I’ve got something close. London!” London?! What?! I stood up but I hit my head on something. “Ow!” I opened my eyes and looked around.

“Woah, are you okay?” He took my head and examined it. “Yeah, I’m fine. Sorry.” I pulled away and I could feel my whole face burning up. I actually forgot I was with Harry and that I was inside his car. “As long as you’re okay, you don’t need to be sorry.” He looked at me for confirmation, still a little bit worried. “I’m good. Don’t worry.” I smiled at him and tried to break away from his stare.

“Good. I’ve got to ask though, wrong girl? Heaven? What was that all about?” He laughed as he turned off the engine. Wait, did I just tell him that I’m not Abby? Gosh, I really have to pull myself together. “Uh..” I tried to laugh and think of a plausible excuse but I really don’t have anything at the moment. “I was just dreaming?” That was the lamest excuse I could ever say that even I questioned it.

“Oh, okay.” He smiled at me before he went out of the car. “He’s really gullible.” I thought to myself. “C’mon, I’ve got a lot to show you.” I jumped off of my seat as he opened the door for me. He held out his arm and was waiting for me to take it and like the first time we met I tried to ignore it.

“London, huh? So is this your second wish?” I tried to walk faster so we wouldn’t be on the same pace. I am not really the best at these ‘dates’, if you can actually call this one. In fact, I haven’t been in one.

“This is a part of it. I’ll get to my second wish later.” He took my hand and tucked it between his arms like those gentlemen in the old movies. “So where do you want to go first?” He looked at me once more and I looked down. I wasn’t really dressed for the occasion. And if someone would look at us together like this, they would absolutely think that we’re not the best match for each other.

“Hmm, wherever you think is best. I haven’t been here ever so I really wouldn’t know.” I tried not to look at him but I could feel he was still looking at me. “Oh, okay. Just don’t runaway if you didn’t like my choice, okay?” He tried to look around, maybe thinking of the best place to go.

“That wouldn’t be the best option for me right now, would it?” I laughed. I was actually very amused at the thought of me wandering around London on my own. “How long do you think you’ll last?” I looked at him, baffled by his question. “You know, if you’re out here alone.” I laughed once more and he joined in. “Yeah, I don’t think I’ll last long.” We laughed one more time and it actually felt great.

“So can you tell me now what your second wish is?” I looked up at him and he looked back. He smiled and I could something in his eyes. He’s planning something, I’m not just sure if it’s gonna bring me any good though.

Harry’s POV:
“So can you tell me now what your second wish is?” She looked at me and I could tell that she was in a very good mood. I guess that sleep really did her well. “Twenty questions. That’s my second wish.” She looked at me, very surprised at what I said.

“What do you mean?” She continued to look at me and waited for an answer. “I ask twenty questions and you have to answer as honest as you can.” I really want to know who this girl is before my head explodes and this is the easiest way I could think of. “How would you know that I’m not lying? I can be very good at it, you know.” I laughed and looked at her.

“Really? You really are, are you? Well, you’ll just have to deal with a guilty conscience then.” I tried to tease her but I was really hoping that she’ll take this seriously. “Well, okay but we’ll have to split it. Just to be fair.” She looked back up looking really sure of whatever she was thinking, leaving me more confused than ever.

“Split?” I think right now that the tables have turned. I was actually more puzzled than she is. “Yeah, you ask me ten questions and I’ll ask you ten. You said earlier that I can get to know you better as well. Fair, right?” This girl really thinks in mysterious ways. I wouldn’t even have thought about that if I was in her shoes.

“Fine. I can see no harm in that but I’ll go first, okay?” I looked at her and she nodded her head. “How are you finding Oxford?” I’ve got tons of questions for her but this was the first that popped into my head. “Fine, I guess. Not much different from where I’m from. I mean minus the fancy accents and all.” She giggled and looked so carefree. “Is that the best you got?” I shook my head and laughed with her.

“Fine, here’s one. Where exactly are you from? Obviously, you don’t have a ‘fancy’ accent.” She laughed once more. I’m really happy that she’s opened up a little bit. It’s nice to know that she can actually smile and laugh like this. “Hey! My accent is just fine! But, I grew up in Canada but my parents are both of Asian descent.”

We continued walking, stopping sometimes at some stores. “Oh, I knew it! I wasn’t really sure if you were ‘British’.” We both laughed and I could feel my cheeks starting to hurt. “Oh, sorry pretty boy. Eight more!” She ran and stopped in the middle of an intersection. “Take a picture of me!” She posed and I realized that the view was a perfect view of the Buckingham Palace and the Big Ben.

“You’ll get ran over there. C’mon.” I gestured for her to come but she wouldn’t budge. “I wouldn’t if you move faster!” I took out my phone and took the picture. I looked at it and chuckled. Who would have known that the girl I met a week ago is the same girl in the picture? She ran over and took a look at the picture.

“Great shot! Don’t delete that, ‘kay?” She pulled my arm and started to lead the way. “Hey, you’ve still got eight questions. C’mon, we don’t have all day.” I smiled at her and tried to think of other questions but it seems that they all disappeared.

“Nah, I’ll ask later. I can’t think of anything right now.” I was afraid to ask more since I was afraid that her mood might change. I was really satisfied at how we are right now. If I could freeze time, I would. “Well, I guess it’s my turn now then.”
