Alayna’s POV:
“Alayna?” I turned around and was shocked to see him standing there. “What are you doing here?” He came closer and I took a step backwards. “Niall said he’ll meet me here.” He stopped on his tracks and I did the same.

“Well, you look too incredible if you’re just meeting Niall.” I rolled my eyes and huffed. “Can’t I?” It was dark but I still noticed that he shook his head. “I was also on my way to the auction event. You?” I lowered my voice and started walking away.

“I’m here to see my date. Wait, you bought me?” I stopped and turned around. “What?! No. I told you, I was on my way to the auction event. You should look for your date. Good night.”

“Alayna, wait.” Harry grabbed my hand but I pulled away. “I have to go.” I walked away quickly, making sure he can’t catch up to me. “I’m sorry. Alayna, I’m very, very sorry.”

“What?” I turned around rapidly and walked towards him. “I’m sorry. For everything.” I stopped mere inches away from him. “Sorry doesn’t solve anything.” I punched his chest and backed away.

“First, I deserve that and second, it doesn’t hurt to try.” I let out a huff and walked towards him again. “Do you even know what ‘hurt’ means, Harry?!” My voice got a little bit louder and I loss control of my hands.

“I do. I, myself, am hurting. I am, Alayna.” I continued punching his chest but his hand took hold of mine and tightened his grip. “Let go, Harry.” I used my other hand to help me out but he took hold of that too.

“I won’t, Alayna. Just listen to me please.” He put both of our hand down without letting go. “The last time I listened to you; it didn’t really go well, did it?” I tried to pull away but his grip was too tight.

“Can you just give me this one chance?” I shook my head and looked down. “I can’t. There’s nothing left to break, Harry. I’m sorry.”

Harry’s POV:
“Well Alayna that’s why I’m sorry. I’m sorry because I’m a coward and I’m stupid.” I can feel her hands shaking and I can feel my face quivering.

“I’m sorry, okay?! I should have stood up for you. I should have been there for you. I---” She looked up at me and tears were already falling freely from her eyes.

“Don’t Harry. I was the one who was stupid enough to actually give in like that. I was stupid t--t--oo believe that THIS is actually going to work.” I shook my head and felt tears falling from my own eyes.

“You’re not stupid, okay? This is my entire fault. Please, just let me fix all of this.” She pulled away from me with all her might and walked away. “I love you!” She stopped and I was glad she turned around.

“What?” I was hoping she’ll walk towards me but she didn’t. “I love you Alayna, more than anything.” I made my way towards her but she stepped away. “Stop doing that.” I took another step and she did the same.

“Doing what?” The pattern repeated again and I’m getting more annoyed than ever. “That! Backing away from me. It’s as if you’re disgusted of me.” I took a large step and was glad she stopped stepping away from me.

“I’m not, okay? You’re my deep water, Harry. I’ve drowned once; I can’t risk drowning once again.” I looked down and sighed. “I told you, I’m ready to save you if you ever drown again.”

“You can’t save me and be the reason why I need saving in the first place at the same time. Just accept that, Harry. I’m trying to do that myself.” She looked down then shook her head.

“Goodbye, Harry.” She pecked my cheek then turned around. “The promise that you made that day, is it still in place?” She turned her head to face me and sighed. “No.” She turned her back once more but I grabbed her hand to stop her from walking away.

“Why?” She pulled her hand away and started walking. “Because that person who made that promise and the person who the promise was made, they don’t exist anymore.”
