*3 weeks later*

Alayna’s POV:
“Alayna! Hand me my other shoe!” Kacey was on the other side of the room getting ready. “Are you really not coming?” I tried to look for the other shoe then handed it to Kacey.

“I can’t. I still have a lot to do.” I sat down on her sofa and rummaged through a pile of magazines. “But darling, you have to. We’ve been preparing for this for months. The least you could do is show up.” Kacey came out looking as perfect as always.

“I’m sorry but I could say that I have more important things to do.” I stood up and helped her zip up her dress. “Alayna! There’s going to be drinks, boys, and party. It’s not going to be just ---”

“I’m sorry. I’m just saying. It would be better if you come.” Kacey did some last minute fixes then took her purse. “Okay, fine! If you do change your mind, the closet is open for you. Oh and lock up, please!” She tossed me her keys then made her way out.

Kacey’s room was very comfortable so I decided to stay there for the night. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep. “My heart, Alayna. It’s yours. But I can’t be with you. I’m sorry.” I cried and grabbed his arm but he pulled away.

“Harry, please. I --- I love you.” I cried harder but he just looked at me with a cold look. “I can’t.” He turned around and started walking away. “I can’t love you. Goodbye.” He started walking away and he vanished into the darkness.

“Goodbye, Alayna. Goodbye. Goodbye.” His voice echoed continuously. It was like a hammer pounding my fragile heart. I woke up, hardly breathing. I felt tears continuously streaming down my cheeks.

“No, you’re over him. You’re over this!” I sat up and wiped my tears. “You’re a warrior. Show them that!”

Harry’s POV:
“And, sold!” I stood backstage, waiting patiently for my turn. “I hope mine’s gorgeous.” Liam and Zayn both laughed at Louis’ comment. “You mean hot?” Louis let out a huff then shook his head.

“No, I mean gorgeous lads.” Louis patted all our backs then went to his position. “I’m next!” I tried to take a peek through the curtain and scanned the crowd.

“Who are you looking for exactly?” I was startled by Liam who appeared behind me. “Just looking who’s here.” I walked back in line and sighed. “Ahhh. To see our potential dates.” I chuckled at what he said. “No, just looking who’s here.”

“Sure, believe whatever you want to believe.” Liam went next then Niall then Zayn. It has been a long night and finally it was my turn. I walked through the center of the stage then stood there.

“I’m pretty sure you all know who this is.” I waved my hand and flashed a smile. “Hi. I’m Harry, 19. Currently in the department of Sociology and Business.” After I introduced myself, everybody raised there number and it all started.

It was a good fifteen minutes when the phone rang. It was there so that people who can’t be here can participate as well. “We have £500 here.” Another girl shouted and held her sign up. “£550!” The phone rang once more. “£800!”

“Going once, going twice, sold!” I was surprised how the price got up so quickly but was glad it was over quickly. I walked backstage again then approached Jade. “So what now? Did you prepare a date for us?” I rolled my eyes and started walking away.

“I wasn’t the one who ‘bought’ you.” Jade caught up to me and I turned around. “What?!” I massaged my forehead but my headache got only worse. “You have to meet her up in the Sheldonian Theatre.” She turned her back and walked back to the stage.

“Great!” I threw my hands up and sighed. I was really in no mood to meet up with a girl and make her happy. I can barely do that with people I know. I walked to the meet up place and waited there for almost ten minutes.

“Niall?” I looked around to see where the familiar voice was coming. I followed the clinking of what seems to be high heeled shoes. “I’m here, Niall.” I stopped on my tracks when I saw her back. “Alayna?”
