Alayna’s POV:
“Why don’t we go out just for the weekend?” I looked at Kacey and felt even sorrier with what I did. Even after avoiding her for a month, she accepted me with open arms. “C’mon, I know this resort and it’s the best!”

“Yeah, I think it’ll be good. Just the three of us. Alright for you, Alayna?” Niall put an arm around my shoulder and looked at me. “I’d rather not be a ---” Kacey pulled me away from Niall and hugged me.

“You’re not going to be, okay? C’mon, I’ll help you pack.” Kacey pulled me towards my room and shooed Niall away. “You, go pack too. We’ll leave in an hour, ‘kay?” Niall nodded and went off his way.

“Kacey, you don’t have to do this.” Kacey rummaged through my closet and stuffed clothes in the sports bag she found. “Ugh! I missed you, Alayna! I don’t have to this, you do!” I pulled the bag away from her and waited for an explanation.

“You owe me this. You made me worry so much. I could have reported you as a missing person.” I laughed at what she said and gave her the bag back. “Fine! Sorry ‘bout that.” After she packed my clothes, we went to pack hers. A few minutes after finishing packing, Niall knocked on the door and we all left.

“Thanks, Elly.” The receptionist handed Kacey our keys to our room. “You’re welcome, Miss Vanbrooke.” Niall and I both looked at Kacey weirdly. “What? My parents are friends with the owner so they know me here.” Niall and I both nodded then the three of us separated into different rooms.

After a couple of minutes of lying on the bed, I decided to go out for a walk. “This is actually quite nice.” I smiled to myself and sighed. Just being away from the university and Harry and Jade, relaxes me so much.

“Just let it go, Alayna.” I sat down on the gutter of the pool and put my feet in the water. There wasn’t that much guests and the silence was soothing. “A&H.” It was just then that I noticed that I was still wearing the charm bracelet Harry gave me that day.

“I bought it for you. I hope you’ll like it.” I still remembered his smile when he put it around my wrist. “A heart?” The butterflies I felt in my stomach when I heard his answer was still overwhelming me until now. “My heart.”

“Alayna and Harry.” I never noticed the engravings until now and it saddened me more. “Damn it!” I was alarmed when the bracelet fell into the water. I stood up and tried to look for it and spotted it right away. Without second thoughts, I jumped in.

“Alayna!” I don’t know how long I’ve been in the water but I was sure I’m already dead or dying. “Wake up, please! Alayna, can you hear me?” I fluttered my eyes and coughed out water.

“Thank God.” I haven’t completely opened my eyes but my saviour already scooped me up in his arms. “Don’t you ever swim without me.”

Harry’s POV:
“Harry?” I looked at her and still couldn’t shake the worriedness out of my body. “I’m fine. Put me down.” I continued walking, ignoring her protests. “Fine? I wouldn’t call jumping off the water fine.”

“I didn’t know it was deep. Put me down!” I stopped on my tracks but didn’t put her down. “You can’t swim?” She looked down and I started walking again.

“Alayna!” I saw Niall, Kacey and Jade running towards us. “What happened?” Niall stepped forward and all of them looked concerned. “She drowned but I’ve got it all handled.”

“I’ll take it from here.” Niall held his arms out but I backed off. “Harry, he said he’ll take it from here.” Jade nudged me then I quickly handed Alayna to Niall. “Thanks, man.” They all walked off and Jade and I were left there, just standing.

I went to the most deserted place in the resort and sat there for almost an hour. I closed my eyes and it all replayed in my mind. “*Splash*” The moment I saw her jump off and didn’t surface for a whole two minutes made my heart stop.

“Why couldn’t you love me like you love her?” I looked up and there was Jade. “I don’t have to answer that.” I stood up and started walking away but Jade stopped me.

“You do, Harry! We’re engaged for Pete’s sakes. What’s this, huh?” She held up a familiar bracelet. “You gave her a bracelet and you couldn’t even give me a ring?!” I took the bracelet away from her and turned my back.

“You can’t go Harry! I can’t let you go!” She wrapped her arms around my waist. I took her hands off of me and walked away. “You have to, Jade…or we’ll both drown.”
