Alayna's POV:
“Harry, thank you! I’ve never wanted anything more than this.” Jade pulled Harry to the center and made everyone see the beautiful ring she has on her finger. “That took you long enough, boy.” Jade’s dad popped out of nowhere then tapped Harry’s back.

“Harry.” I tried to call him out but no voice came out of me. I watched Jade kiss Harry and everybody clapping. It felt like forever; it felt like I was standing there for a million years and everyone was moving in fast forward.

Everybody dispersed like mosquitoes after Jade pulled Harry away from the library. After that, I just stood there; I want to scream, to cry but I can’t seem to move a muscle.

“I guess I have to wake up sooner or later.” I felt a tear drop from my eye and it triggered my hand to move. I picked up my bag and walked away. I just walked, with no destination in my mind. I didn’t feel like talking to anybody, I just want to be alone.

I sat down then looked around. I noticed that I was in my favourite spot in this school. I was in the rooftop of one of the buildings in the school. There weren’t a lot of people in that building and the rooftop felt deserted.

“You’re so stupid Alayna.” I slammed my head onto the wall to punish myself. I felt nothing physically but I felt my heart breaking and crushing inside of me. I forced myself to cry, to weep but it’s like my eyes were too tired to create tears.

“Stupid!” I stood up and threw my bag around the rooftop. “I can’t believe you actually thought it was going to work out.” I sat down once more and took a deep breath. I put my head between my knees.

“I’m done hiding.” I took out the card that Harry gave me with the flowers. “Well, I’m done too.” I stood up and tore up the card. I dropped the pieces off the rooftop then sat down again. “I’m done loving you.”

Harry’s POV:
“Jade!” I pulled Jade away from her dad. “What, babe?” I looked at her sternly. “Engaged?” I pulled her hand up and looked at the ring. “Did you buy this yourself?” Jade pulled me away from the restaurant that her dad had reservations.

“I’m not giving up on us Harry!” She pulled her hand away and turned her back. “You know what since Alayna came you’ve been really confuse. Let me help you.” Jade held both of my hands and started tearing up.

“No, Jade! Alayna’s not the problem, it’s you, and it’s me. Heck, it’s us!” My patience is getting shorter and it seems that I’ve been shouting on the top of my lungs since we got a few stares.

“Harry, please. Lower your voice. You’re embarrassing yourself.” I let out a huff then walked in circles. “I’m embarrassing you?! Me?! Are you freaking kidding me?!” I shook Jade then sat down.

“I’m tired Jade. I’m just really tired. Why can’t you just let this one go?” Jade knelt in front of me and ran her fingers through my hair. “Because I love you, Harry. And I know you feel the same too.” She caressed my cheeks but I pulled away.

“Stop. Jade, you have to understand, I don’t really know what I feel about you especially now.” I pushed away Jade’s hand and stood up.

“Why are you doing this to me, Harry?” Jade started tearing up but I didn’t feel like comforting her. “You’re doing this to yourself. If you could just let this go, then no one’s going to get hurt.”

“No one, Harry? No one?! For fuck’s sakes Harry, I’m hurt. Doesn’t that matter to you? I’m really, really hurt!” Jade sat down and started to cry; it was a different cry, it sounded more genuine.

“I’m sorry, Jade.” I knelt down beside her but didn’t touch her. “Sorry?! Is that all you could say?” Jade wiped her cheeks then looked at me. “What do you want me to say?” Jade’s tears started falling freely again and I looked away as guilt started to eat me up.

“I want you to say you love me, Harry. Me!” Jade yanked my arm forcing me to look at her. “I can’t Jade. I’m sorry.” I stood up and started to walk away. “Is it because you love someone else?”
