Alayna’s POV:
“Hey.” Kacey sat beside me, looking very concerned. “Hey.” I tried to convince her with my smile but everybody knows that I’m lying. “What’s wrong?” Kacey nudged me and tickled me.

“Wh-wh-what are you doing?” I laughed and swatted her hand away. “There’s that smile. So wanna tell me what’s wrong?” Kacey sat up straight and waited for my answer. I smiled to myself. It’s been a while since a girl has been this nice to me.

“Nothing really. I swear.” I giggle for a bit and sighed. Even I myself am not convinced that there’s nothing wrong. “We’ve been doing this a whole week and every single day; you look like you’re slowly dying inside. Want to tell me what’s really wrong?” Kacey sounded so concerned that I just wanted to cry.

Ever since me and my family moved to Canada, I never trusted anyone. It’s not that because someone betrayed me or anything but because no one showed so much concern for me. No one ever even tried to give me a second look that I thought that if someone ever did, they were just out to get me.

“I’m just tired with school and everything. That’s all.” I slouched and looked at the distance. Harry and Jade were laughing at whatever they were talking about. I’ve never seen Harry so happy and it’s slowly breaking my heart.

“Oh, I see what’s happening here. Someone’s got a little crush on a certain someone.” Kacey pointed her finger at me and then pointed it at Harry. “Hey! Don’t point at him.” I pulled her hand down and sighed.

“So I am right! Aw, love. Don’t be so sad about it. It’s okay.” Kacey put her arm around me and squeezed my hand. She gave off a sisterly vibe and I felt very safe near her. She hasn’t done much but it was enough for me to trust her.

“They look perfect, don’t they?” I sighed once more as if I’m puffing my problems away. “Yeah, but I don’t think they’re perfect for each other though.” Kacey mimicked my sigh and that made me giggle.

“You don’t have to make me feel better.” I giggled once more and Kacey took her arm back. “Who said I was trying to make you feel better? I was just stating a fact. Look, Jade is too much of an extrovert while Harry is somewhere in between.” Kacey was pointing at Harry and Jade again as if she was trying to teach me a very obvious fact.

“Opposites attract though, right?” Even though I know Kacey won’t back down from proving her point, I just can’t stop myself from trying to make a good debate. “True but that doesn’t apply to all relationships. It may always work for chemistry but trust me, it’s not for everyone.” I sat straight up and Kacey stood up.

“C’mon, why don’t we finish up then grab a bite?” Kacey tapped my back and I gave her a nod. “I’ll be right there.” Kacey walked back to her work and I was about to stand up myself when someone covered my eyes.

“I thought I told you that I don’t want to see you sad when I come back.” I spun around and was very surprised to see a very blonde boy in front of me. “NIALL!!”

Harry’s POV:
“I don’t think it’d be a good idea for girls to bid on boys, babe.” I shook Jade hoping I’ll shake her out of this crazy idea. “C’mon it’ll be fun. I already asked the boys and they all agreed. I promise, I’ll make sure I’ll be the one who’ll be winning you.” Jade gave me a peck on the lips and I chuckled a bit.

“You better. I don’t want to be spending a night with some random girl.” I put my arm around Jade and she laughed. “I won’t let that happen. Ever!” Jade pulled away and spun around. “Aw, look at those two.” Jade pointed at the south of the room and I saw Alayna giving Niall a big hug.

“Niall’s here already?” Jade elbowed me as I sounded a little bit bitter. “Aren’t they two so cute? C’mon let’s tell Niall what’s up.” Jade pulled me to where they were. I thought spending everyday with Jade would make it less harder to ‘get over’ Alayna but seeing Alayna everyday just makes it less easier to feel more for Jade.

“Hey!” Niall and I gave each other a half hug while Jade went for a full hug. “I missed you so much!” Jade squeezed Niall’s cheek like a child and Niall pulled away. “So what’s all of these?” Niall rubbed his cheeks; what can I say, Jade is a squeezer.

“Ooh! It’s an auction night for the ladies, if you know what I mean.” Jade nudged Niall and Niall nodded. “Oh, okay. I see what you mean.” Niall laughed and Jade grew more excited. “So you’re in?” Jade jumped up and down and Niall sighed.

“As long as Alayna’s okay with it.” He put his arm around her and looked at her. “Uhm, what?” Alayna looked at Niall and he waited for a response. They do look perfect together. Wait, are they together? “What?! Stop asking yourself this. You don’t care, Harry!” I tried telling myself this every single day. I don’t care, do I?

“Oh, uh, sure!” Alayna looked like she’s finally here with us; body and mind that is. “Great! Oh, Alayna. Wanna go out for lunch?” Niall was so close to her just like what I wanted before. She looked so comfortable and happy with him and I know I couldn’t give her that.

“Oh, uhm, I’ll go ask for Kacey first. I bet she’s hungry too.” She ran off and I followed her with my eyes. “So can we join you?” Jade took my arm and jumped up and down again. “Uhm, sure.” Niall scratched his head, obviously not too happy with Jade’s ‘invitation’.

“Great! It’s a double date then!” I flinched at Jade’s choice of words. I know that I shouldn’t be bothered by Alayna and Niall being a couple but my heart, I guess, isn’t too aware of that.
