Worlds Apart

Invisible

Alayna’s POV:
Hey, Alayna,
If you’re already reading this then that means you’re already awake. Sorry, I didn’t say goodbye. I didn’t want to wake you up. Thank you by the way for accompanying me the whole night last night. Take care for the whole week that I’m gone. See ya! :)
--Niall
P.S. Just keep in mind what I said and you’ll be fine. I don’t want to return and see you sad.

I stretched both my arms and yawned. I put down Niall’s letter and let out a sigh. I wish he didn’t need to go so I had someone to talk to about all of ‘these’.

“Ow!” I stood up and stumbled. I looked down and was surprised that I was still in my heels and party dress. I remembered that I hadn’t really had time to change last night and was too tired anyways.

I walked into my closet and took some normal clothes. I went in front of the mirror and washed my face and brush my teeth. “Now, what are you going to do today?” I figured that if I entertain myself then I would be distracted from my ‘Harry thoughts’.

I walked out of my room and knocked on Kacey’s door. “Hey, good morning!” She was awfully cheerful on such an early hour; lucky her. “Good morning.” I tried to sound a little bit cheerful but terribly failed at it.

“Uhm, I’m really sorry to bother you again. Is it okay if I return your dress and shoes sometime next week? I just don’t want to return it to you dirty.” I smiled awkwardly at her, hoping she wouldn’t be mad.

“Oh, that’s fine. Return it to me anytime. I don’t use it too much anyway so take your time. Don’t sweat about it.” She smiled and looked at me, waiting to see if I had any more to say.

“Uhm, okay. Thanks. That’s all. See ya.” I nodded my head and walked back gawkily back to my room. “Hey Alayna! Want to grab coffee with me?” I stopped on my tracks and turned to face her again.

“C’mon. I don’t have anyone to go with. You don’t have anything important to do, right?” She’s right. I don’t have anything important to do and if I just sit around my room, I’ll just continuously think of Harry the whole day.

“Uhm, sure. I’ll just grab my coat.” I walked quickly inside my room and grabbed my coat and walked back to Kacey’s room.

“Great! Let’s go!” Kacey and I walked to the nearest café. Everybody we walked past looked at her. She was stunning yet simple. And I, on the other hand, looked like a disaster next to her. “Hey, don’t slouch. It’s a great Sunday morning and you already look like you’re ready to go back to sleep.”

I giggled at her comment but deep down inside that’s all I want to do. I already hated this day and more on, this week. What if I’ll see more of Harry? Should I confront him about his and my feelings? All these questions are starting to hurt my head and I just want to shut it all down.

“One orange juice for me and a black coffee for her.” We were in line when I heard a familiar voice. I tried to look past through the people in front of us to see who was the one talking. “Let’s go wait there, babe.” My eyes grew bigger as I saw the familiar head of curls.

“Uhm, can we switch?” I asked Kacey and she looked at me weirdly. I didn’t wait for her to answer and just moved to her other side. I kept my head down and whispered to myself. If it’s possible to be invisible, right now would be a great time to.

Harry’s POV:
“It’s such a beautiful morning, isn’t it?” I nodded my head as I took a sip out of my juice. “Sorry, I fell asleep last night.” I laughed and took Jade’s hand. “It’s okay, babe. How was your sleep?”

“It’s okay. I felt better when I woke up though.” I looked at her confused and she squeezed my hand. “It’s because I saw you beside me and I knew that it wasn’t all a dream.” She smiled so bright and it made me happy.

“So what did you and your dad talked about last night?” This was mine and Jade’s normal conversation. It wasn’t the most interesting but it was fine for now. “Oh, yeah. I forgot to tell you about that. My dad’s planning to hold another charity event and asked me to plan it.” Her face lit up as she was telling her story.

“So what’s your plan then?” I took another sip as I tried to listen attentively to her. I just hope this plan of hers wouldn’t lead us to having another pointless argument. “I was thinking of having an auction. What do you think?” I sat up straight and thought an auction wouldn’t actually be a bad idea.

“That would actually be great.” I was glad that this idea of hers wouldn’t be another root of an argument. “Aww, see babe? We’re not fighting anymore.” She stood up and gave me a peck on the cheek and sat down again.

“So who are you going to ask to help you?” I noticed her looking past through me so I turned my back. “Kacey!!” Jade stood up and ran towards her friend. “Harry, you know her right?” I guess I’ve seen her once or twice so I just nodded as an answer.

“Come and seat with us.” Jade pulled her friend to our table without waiting for her answer. “Wait! I’m actually with someone.” Jade pouted and Kacey sighed as a sign of defeat. “I guess we could pull one more chair.” Jade nodded and giggled.

“So where’s your friend?” Jade scanned the crowd without even knowing who to look for. “Uhm, here she comes!” Kacey waved her hands to guide her friend to come towards us. “Jade, I want you to meet ---” Kacey stood up and put an arm around her friend and my eyes grew bigger.

“Alayna!!” Jade stood up and gave Alayna a hug. Why is she here again? Does she just show up everywhere? “You know her?” Kacey gave Jade a confused look and I could see that Alayna herself is confused and shock at the same time.

“Yup. And actually, you two are in great timing. Me and Harry we’re just talking about an auction I’m planning to hold and I could really use some extra hands.” I tried not looking at Alayna but I could notice that she was still uneasy being with us. I just want to pull her away from all this and then return to Jade. It’d be easier for both of us that way.

“I’m up for it. You, Alayna?” Kacey gave Alayna a nudge and Alayna looked startled as if her mind were in a different place, far away from here. “Uhm, I’m sorry. Could you repeat the question?”

I looked straight at Jade and pretended that Alayna wasn’t here. First day of trying to fix mine and Jade’s relationship and it’s already not going well. “Do you want to help me out with an auction event? Please?” Jade gave Alayna the ‘puppy eyes’ look.

“Uhm, sure. I guess.” Jade’s face lit up and she got so excited. “Great! So I guess, you, Kacey and Harry will be helping me out starting tomorrow. I’m so excited!” I looked at Jade wide-eyed. “WHAT?!” Alayna and I shouted at the same time. Are we going to see each other every day? I could barely make it today, let alone every single day starting tomorrow. Help?
