Alayna’s POV:
“Hey yourself. Where have you been? I’ve been here for half an hour already.” I laughed at Niall’s attempt to look serious. “Hey, don’t laugh!” He broke his character and joined in laughing.

“Come inside. I would like to warn you about the mess.” Niall laughed more as he went inside. “I can’t offer you much but I can give you some fancy water.” Niall sat down and reached for the glass I gave him.

“What’s so fancy about it?” Niall looked curious and I couldn’t help but giggle. “It’s from my tap, therefore, it’s fancy.” Niall's laugh echoed through my room and I joined in.

“So where were you?” Niall took a sip and stopped to look at me. “Oh, uhmm, I walked that’s why.” Niall sat straight up, looking more concerned than ever.

“What?! You could have called me to pick you up.” I sat down in front of him and let out a small laugh. “I’m fine, Niall. And I thought you had an emergency which brings me to my question. Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be on your way to the airport?”

“Well, if I knew you were going to walk in your heels, I wouldn’t have left you. And my flight is not ‘til tomorrow morning. That’s the earliest that I can book.” I just noticed that he was still in his suit; he could have gone here right after he packed and booked his flight.

“I don’t have any other choice, do I? And if that’s the case, then you should be sleeping at this time of the night.” Niall laughed and almost spitted out the water in his mouth. “It’s only 11 and I could get plenty of sleep in the plane. And yes, you did have a choice. I asked you, remember?”

“I told you, I had things to fix.” He looked at me, more concerned than before. “Is it about Harry?” I was shocked that he knew exactly the reason for this terrible night. “How did you know?” This time, I was the one who almost spitted out the water in my mouth.

“It was kind of obvious.” I looked at him, signalling him to explain further. “Well, first, your face when you first saw him kind of gave it away. Then second, I saw you two furiously whispering to each other.” Were we that obvious?

“So did you manage to fix it?” Niall waited for a response but my mind kept replaying the events that happened tonight. “Alayna!” He put his hand on my shoulder and I jumped off my seat.

“Oh, I’m sorry. It’s just that I thought we weren’t that obvious. That ---” Niall stood up and stopped me from speaking. “That your feelings towards him weren’t that obvious?” We both sat down and I felt defeated.

“I told you be careful with Harry. So do you really like him?” I couldn’t look or answer Niall. I’m so confused. I closed my eyes, hoping the answers will get clearer but it didn’t. Niall pulled my head closer and rested it on his shoulders.

“Just rest your mind for tonight.” Niall was such a great friend. We haven’t known each other that long yet I felt safe with him. “Thanks, Niall.”

Harry’s POV:
“I’m so speechless, Harry.” Jade smiled widened and the moment felt right. “You don’t have to.” I leaned and our lips met. Her lips were soft and our kiss gave me butterflies.

“I don’t want this night to end.” Jade pulled away and she was still smiling. I smiled back at her and said nothing. “What do you want to do to make this night better?” I shrugged as a response. Anything will do as long as I’m with her.

“Movie night?” Jade stood up and turned around to look for the perfect movie. “You did alright, Harry.” I thought to myself. Jade was truly the right one. We may not agree on all the things but we get each other.

“You must forget about Alayna.” I closed my eyes and saw Alayna’s face staring back at me. No! I’m with Jade and so should my heart and mind. Alayna was just a test on mine and Jade’s relationship. She was perfect but not for me; maybe she’s perfect for Niall.

“Hey don’t sleep yet!” Jade sat down next to me and gave me a nudge. I wrapped my arm around her as she started the movie. “So, you want to tell me what the movie is?” Jade looked up at me and looked very excited.

“It’s our favourite movie! We watched it on our first date, remember?” I let out a chuckle as the memories came flooding in. I remembered thinking to myself that I had to do everything to get Jade. I was very confident when I asked her and fortunately, she said yes or it would have been a great hit to my ego.

“Love Actually?” She snuggled closer to me. “You got it!” I remembered the time when the news got out that we were dating; everyone went crazy. We were the power couple of the school and everybody envied us.

Our relationship looked perfect for a very long time but as power went into her head and I got busy myself, we drifted apart. We were still together to keep our statuses but we both know that we were in a dysfunctional relationship.

I heard her yawn and I held her tighter. “Are you sleepy?” She yawned again and I know that she was drifting to sleep. I looked at her and her eyes were already shut. “I thought we weren’t allowed to sleep?” I chuckled and carefully maneuvered my other hand for the remote. “Good night, Jade.” I kissed her forehead and turned off the television. “Thank you, Jade.”
