Alayna’s POV:
“Thank you for coming with me on such short notice.” Niall and I walked inside a very big hall. I was in such awe. “Oh, it’s my pleasure. Don’t worry.” I looked around and everything looked fancy and I felt out of place instantly.

“Well, I’m happy you said yes. I know this isn’t part of your ‘best day ever’ plan.” He looked at me and we both laughed. It’s really nice having someone so much like me. “Ooh, I’ll introduce you to my friends if that’s okay.” He looked at me for confirmation and I nodded as a response.

“Hey, guys! I want you to meet Alayna.” I gave an awkward wave and they all waved back. “I’m Liam, this is Louis and this is Zayn.” They all shook my hand and I was in awe, for the second time. They all look like supermodels yet they’re very nice and not snobbish at all.

“So are you new here? It’s just that I haven’t seen you around.” Liam sounded very polite and nice. “Yeah, uhm, I’m here for my international studies.” I looked around and try to fix my dress and my hair. “So you’re only here for one term?” Louis took his eyes off of his date and looked at me. I smiled and nodded.

“What? You didn’t tell me that.” Niall teased me a bit and laughed. “What? Oh, I must have forgotten that.” Niall laughed once again and I looked at him with wonder. It’s so incredible how he’s so light-hearted and how everything can make him laugh.

“Aww, aren’t you two really cute?” Louis teased us and I can feel my cheeks turn red. “Hey, I’ll just grab a drink. Want one?” I looked at Niall and nodded. “So how did you two meet?” I can still feel my cheeks burning. Wait, do they think we’re dating?

“Uhm, we have the same class together.” I smiled at them and scanned the place for Niall. “Really? What class?” Louis asked and I felt a little bit intimidated. He just has this undertone in his voice that just really gets to me.

“Uhmm, Political Science.” I smiled and shuffled my feet. “Hmm, does Niall even take that?” Zayn, who have been quiet this whole time, asked Louis. Louis shrugged as a response.

“Why is he taking so long?” I’m really not good socializing and my feet are starting to hurt. “Here you go.” Niall handed me my drink and I was so relieved.

“Oh, I forgot to introduce you to one more person. Jade this is Alayna. Alayna this is Jade.” I spun around and saw this very beautiful girl. “Nice to meet you.” I smiled at her and felt a little insecure. Niall has a lot of really good-looking friends and I really wouldn’t blame him since he himself is very attractive.

“This is her dad’s fancy party so I was really forced to come.” Jade laughed and punched Niall’s arm. “Oh, Niall. You forgot to introduce someone. Harry this is Alayna and Alayna this is Harry, my boyfriend.” Jade pulled the tall, curly-haired boy who was talking with someone to her side and I was left shocked at to who her ‘boyfriend’ was.

Harry’s POV:
“I was thinking of offering members discount for lessons then the company will have more members and thus more sales.” I was talking to one of the guests about a business proposal when Jade interrupted and pulled me.

“Jade! Sorry and excuse me.” I looked at Jade and she was shaking her head. “Harry, as I was saying, this is Alayna.” I looked at the girl Jade was introducing and I was left speechless. Did she say Alayna? Doesn’t she mean Abby?

“Hi, Harry. Nice to meet you.” Abby or Alayna or whatever her name is, talked in a pretend voice and shook my hand. She looked at me, quietly asking me to go along.

“Nice to meet you too, Alayna.” I smiled at her and shook her hand back. “Aren’t they so cute?” I looked at Jade strangely. “I’m sorry. Who’s cute?” Ab---, I mean Alayna today, laughed awkwardly before Jade got to answer.

“No--no one’s cute.” She laughed again awkwardly. “You are, silly. You and Niall are such a cute couple. Right, Harry?” Jade held my arm, trying to look as ‘cute’ as Alayna and Niall.

“Wait, couple?!” I looked back and forth at Alayna and Niall, hoping to get some answers. “What? No! Uhmm, we’re just friends. Right, Niall?” She faked a laugh again and subtly moved away from Niall. I was actually pleased with her move.

“Aww, that’s too bad. You two look absolutely good together. Don’t let her go to waste, Niall.” Jade winked at Niall and Niall laughed at a response. Why are they even here together? And how do they even know each other?

“Don’t worry, I won’t.” Niall put his arm around Alayna’s waist and her cheeks turned bright red. “So, Alayna, what are you up to?” Jade was super friendly towards her which was pretty unusual of her.

“Alayna is actually doing her international study here which is pretty cool.” Niall actually knew more about her than I do. I felt a tingling feeling in my stomach. Am I jealous?

“Really? Oh my gosh, that’s so cool. Why of all the cooler places, why choose this one?” I know Jade and I could feel she’s just putting up a show. I don’t know why though but I have a bad feeling about this one.

“Uhmm, I’ve had my eyes already set on this school for years. It’s my dream school.” Alayna smiled and I could tell that she was a little bit nervous. “Oh, okay. This is actually a pretty cool school. I’m actually proud that my dad helps run this school. He’s the dean of the Law department by the way.” Jade smiled as wide as she can and I can feel that she’s getting competitive.

“Oh, that’s nice.” Alayna smiled and I felt Jade tense up. “Nice?” I squeezed Jade’s hand to stop her from making an argument out of nothing. Jade looked at me and I shook my head.

“Oh, excuse me for a second.” Niall excused himself because his phone rang. “Jade, can you come here for a second?” Jade’s dad called Jade and gestured her to come to where he is and Jade obediently followed. Liam, Zayn, and Louis also excused themselves and their dates as they have other plans.

“So, Alayna? Abby?” I looked at her and she looked away. “You wanna tell me the truth now?” She was still quiet but I know that she was really uneasy. “Well, at least we’re alone now. Can you at least answer some questions?”
