Chapter 4

"Niall you’ll want to get going you have school in 20 minutes" My aunt Lydia said putting on her jacket for work. So I never told them I was suspended what they don’t know won’t hurt them right? I figure I just spend some time at the library (I still had research to do if I was going to prove Liam wrong.) Or whatever else until school gets out then come home. They won’t know the difference.
"Uh yeah I’m heading out now"
"Okay" she gave me a warm hug and my usual lunch money and headed out the door. When U saw her car make its turn the other way I went upstairs and changed out of my uniform and into a hoodie, my sweats and a pair of high tops. Then left out for the city. I don’t live close to downtown so I had to catch the bus. The bus ride was short but with the various characters aboard it was interesting. I just kept my head down and music on. I had to avoid a couple places mostly the store aunt Lydia managed and Uncle Ben’s office building. Other than that I was free to roam. And there was tons to do downtown. Museums, shops, parks, the library anything I could want. Hiding my expulsion will be easy. After about 25 minutes the bus reached my stop. I took of my hood and walked towards the library. The street by the library was relatively empty but it was almost 9:00 so most people were going into work now.
“Help! Someone please! He has my bag ” I heard a woman’s voice shouting
I looked around and across the street was a woman maybe aunt Lydia’s age cowering in fear as a man darted off the other way with her bag. I quickly took off after him. What kind of sicko older women? And in daylight of all times? He was fast but I was faster. I chased him down at least three blocks before I closed in enough to take him to the ground.Another thing to add to my list. Increased stamina and speed. Write it down later.
I snatched the bag up from his hands holding him down with my foot. He lay on the pavement face pressed against the ground.
“get off of me” he scowled struggling as he lay on the ground
“he sure can we’ll take it from here kid” a policeman added pulling out his cuffs “thanks for the help this guys been all around town stealing purses robbing shops we haven’t been able to catch him”
“my pleasure sir”
he stretched out his hand to shake mine. I gleamed as people gathered around to see what I had achieved. At least for a few seconds until from the corner of my eye I saw my Uncle Ben.
