Right In Front of Your Eyes

I stood there as I watched my best friend, Liam Payne, audition for the second time on X-Factor he had a point to prove this time.
He was so broken the last time he auditioned, he wouldn’t leave his room for a whole week and I was the one to help him through it all. I made him plenty of my homemade chocolate chip cookies with extra love and brought him soup and ice cream. He practiced all the time preparing for this audition, he missed several of our movie nights, it hurt a little but I knew this is what he wanted in life. I stood there with his mom, dad, and his sister.
Flashback
I met Liam when he was 5 years old playing at the park near his house in Wolverhampton. He was sliding down the slide while I was walking in front of the slide. When all of a sudden he crashed right into me and we fell into the sand him laying on top of me his hair disheveled and his big brown eyes pouring into my vibrant blue eyes. Then he spoke to me, “Hello, I’m Liam, I should’ve waited to make sure you passed before I went do”.
“No, No, it is okay I shouldn’t have been walking so close to the slide” He just kept looking at me, not moving so he was still uncomfortably on top of me. “Can you please get off of me? It is hard for me to breath”
“Oh my bad! Say I don’t have many friends, would you like to be mine?”
With that he got off me and proceeded to lend me a hand to help me up. “Um sure! I don’t have any friends here yet, I just moved here”
Present
And from then on we were best friends we did everything together. This time he was singing Cry me a River. He just got on stage and started performing. He radiated confidence as he sang his eyes were shining like stars, he was so happy to be up there on stage performing. Through the whole song my heart warmed because I know the joy he feels when he sings. The song ended and the whole auditorium erupted in applause and then they gave him a standing ovation and the most surprising thing was that Simon joined in and was standing and clapping for the brilliant performance that he just gave. All of the judges voted yes for him to be in the competition and his voice broke out in the biggest smile that I have ever seen. He ran over to me and gave me the biggest hug ever and he spun me around in a circle. “Aurora! I did it I finally did it! All those hours of practicing finally paid off!”
“Liam, sweetie I am so happy for you! I knew that you could do this all along!” I looked into his sparkling eyes. His hair lightly brushed against his eyelashes and his smile lit up his whole face. Seeing him like this made me the happiest that I have ever been. I hated whenever he was upset because whenever he was upset then I was upset.
Once he put me down he went and ran to his family and gave them all hugs and kisses on their cheeks. His mom was crying because she was so proud and his dad was patting him on his back while his Nicola, his sister, ran over to me and started jumping up and down. “Auri! Auri! This is so amazing I can’t believe it! He is going to be finally be doing what he has dreamed of!” Nicola screeched in my ear.
“Nici! You have no idea how excited I am!” I replied as I started jumping up and down with her.
“I know how excited you are because I know how excited Liam is and we all know how you guys have the same exact feelings at the same time, which is really kind of creepy if you think about it.”
“ It is not that weird, there has to be other people like that! I mean we have been best friends for 11 years.”
“You guys are more than just best friends, you are like one person! I think you guys would make the cutest couple ever! Oh, oh then we can be sisters and that would be fantastic”
“Nici!!!!! We are just friends nothing more, besides he is going to be famous and I am just going to be a blimp in his past” When I said the last part I shied away and diverted my eyes from hers
“Auri” Nici just got really serious, “There is no way in the whole world that Liam would forget you! Are you kidding me? You are like his whole world he would do anything for you, trust me I live with him. All he talks about is you and singing”
I know she is just making up stuff. There is no way that he can like me like I like him there is just no way…. Or is there?
