The Flight That Changed My Life
Summary
Let me tell you a bit about myself. Hello, my name is Jennifer Williams and I am a sixteen year old American living in Chicago, Illinois with my parents, twin brother Max and my 8 year old brother Jack.
I have a good number of friends and they all call me Jenni. I love to sketch, read, eat, play violin, and sing. My favorite sports are soccer, softball, bowling, golf and I am currently learning how to skateboard.
I am a sophomore in high school and I get really good grades. I'm insecure like anybody else, but my favorite thing about my self is my eyes; they're hazel and change from green to brown depending on the colors around me. I'm pretty good at everything I do, but I'm not that special. There is always someone better than me. And while everyone else seems to know what they're going to do with their life, I don't. I want to make good money in something that interests me but nothing stands out. Except music. I know its a risky business, that I might never be successful in, but that's the one thing I can totally picture myself doing. I sing all the time, and some of my very favorite shows involve musical competition: American Idol, The Voice, and most recently, The X-Factor: UK version. I've become particularly taken with this last one because I've always yearned to travel to Europe but I've never left the U.S. before.
I've flirted with the idea of auditioning for one of these shows myself but have always felt that I didn't have enough creativity. I used to right songs when I was little, but I lack proper inspiration; like I have massive writers' block. And what of my education? Would I get a tutor if I made it that far? All this and more keeps me here at home, with what's familiar. Nothing truly excites me anymore except sketching, singing, and soccer. But then, I see THEM audition.... and everything changes...
