The amazing race- A Niall and Jamie story

"So just sit here and ignore the cameras. We'll be asking some questions for you to answer" The woman said.
Niall took my hand in his giving it a little squeeze of reassurance. I am not a reality fan and I don't practically want to be here, but Niall really wants this so I gave in.
We are waiting to be questioned for the show starting next month, and I'm cursing Eleanor and Louis for signing us up for it.
I don't even know if I can do this. I mean, my vitamin condition got better, the bruising stopped and I am back running every morning with Harry getting back into shape.
But it is so much more than this. I am not strong, I can't carry heavy things, and I've seen how people fight on these kinds of shows in front of the whole population watching them, ruining couples relationships and making fools of themselves.

"So Niall, when did you two first meet?" The lady asked smiling. Niall turned to smile at me before answering.
"We met the first year of school at the computer room. My friends and I went to install a computer game to play using the college network, and Jamie and her friend were there"
"What game was it?"
"Call of duty" He grins
"Did you girls join the game?" The lady turned to me
"Well at first we were upset since they were very noisy but then Niall's friend Louis convince Eleanor to join and she pulled me in too" I said. I was nervous trying my best not to think of the filming cameras.
"Louis and Eleanor are the friends who signed you up?" She asked
"Yes, I guess they thought for some reason we'll do well" Niall chuckled. I was watching him. He is such a natural in these kinds of situations, talking easily to people smiling and laughing while I sit quietly not being able to think of what to say.
"So you two hit it off from the start then?"
"No, we only became a couple this year" Niall told the woman
"Oh, why did it take so long?" She asked me
"Well Niall was too busy trying to set me up with his friends" I give him a friendly shove.
"Is that right? Did you have a different girlfriend?"
"No, you know, just enjoying college life" He answered her. But I knew the truth. Even though we only started dating not long ago we were best friends, and I know about all of his crushes and heartaches.
"So when did you to realize you wanted each other?" She turned back to me
"When this guy I was dating and I decided to break it off, Niall just came into my room the next day and kissed me" I said snuggling my head to the curve of his neck feeling my face go red.
"Cute, did you set her up with that guy?" She questioned Niall
"I did, we met him in India last summer and thought he'd be perfect for her"
"Aren’t you glad that didn't work out" The lady winked
"Very glad" Niall agreed
"DO you two fight?" She asked us both
"Well" we look at each other
"Not really" We shake our heads
We did have a few fights, one of them being over me running to Harry when I had a tuff time. Niall got really upset that I did that being Harry was the boy I broke up with right before we got together.
"You know this sort of thing is extremely stressful making a lot of people fight and turn on each other" She warned us
"Yes but we are stronger than that, being best friends before starting to date gives us the benefit of knowing each other's weaknesses, what ticks us off and such" Niall explained to her.
"What is Jamie's biggest fear?"
"Jamie's biggest fear.. hmm well that's quite easy. She is terrified of bugs for one, and she does have a fear of heights, isn't that right love?" he kissed my cheek.
"You will come in contact with both of those, you know that right?" She told me.
"Have an ambulance on scene" I give her a weak smile.
"And you must have a weakness" She turns back to Niall
"Jamie's tears is my only weakness" He told her, making the whole cast around us sigh.
"You are charming" The lady nodded in delight. It was my turn to kiss Niall, him making my heart swell up with love for him.
"Can you both drive?"
"No I can't" I say "Niall will have to do all of that"
"What are you good at Jamie?"
"Well I am competitive. If I want something I will give it my all"
"Remember that when there are bugs crawling around us" Niall gives me a cheeky smile.
"You need to deal with bugs if you want me to come with you" I tell him
"You know Jamie is a good runner" He tells the Lady.
"That is a plus" She agrees
"The only thing I am worried about is Jamie helping other competitors instead of pushing us"
"I would not" I exclaim
"Yes you will! You see, Jamie is an industrial design student and it gets competitive. But Jamie will stay at the workshop to help her friends until late sometimes making us come help a swell"
"That is not a bad thing! That is being a good friend" I slap his arm playfully
"So just remember these people are not your friends" He makes a face.
The cast around us laughs.
"You are quite the couple" The lady says "we'll be in touch with you"


"So how was it?" Eleanor asked excited as we joined our friends at the coffee shop across the studio.
"I think they like us" Niall sat down beside Harry.
"I knew it" Eleanor was clapping her hands "When you win I want a big present"
"When we break up I'm suing you" I mumble
"Come on Jamie lighten up" Louis said
"We won't get chosen anyway- they always take the crazy people or the ones with sob stories, Niall and I are too ordinary, we won't give them any ratings" I tell them.
"That's not true" Perrie said "You could be the adorable couple- they always have the prince and princess"
"What a mistake this is Ni, Jamie freaks out from about anything you'll be doing all the hard work yourself" Liam made fun of me.
"I can just see it- you two won't make it out of the country" Zayn high fived Liam joining him on the friendly mocking.
"Thanks guys" I say. Eleanor giving me a hug
"Let's start a bet! I bet you they don't make it out of here" Zayn continues
"Don't listen to them love, you'll do great" She assured me
"When we win I won't remember who these two even are" Niall pointed at Liam and Zayn
"I want a shot glass from every country you get to" Harry demanded.
"Sure, let us just get in first" I smile at him
"Let them get past England first, then talk to them about shot glasses" Zayn told Harry
"Unless you don't have a shot glass from England.. Then they can just get you one" Liam laughed.
Niall's phone rings and he gets up to answer it.
"Why didn't you sign yourself up?" I asked Louis
"I like watching people make fun of themselves, and it's so much better when you know them" He shrugged
"Gosh, Louis what a friend" I roll my eyes.
"We should have signed Louis and Niall together" Perrie giggled
"Are you kidding? This lazy bastard? They'll be home before you'll say goodbye" Eleanor shot the idea done.
Niall was back just then, putting his phone back into his pocket.
"I have some news" He says
"What is it?" I ask him
"Well, Jamie I'm really sorry, but you will be missing some time from school…"
"No way!!" I say getting up from my seat.
"Yes way.. " Niall picked me up swirling me around.
"Oh my gosh Jamie!" Eleanor jumped up "You did it, you two are part of the Amazing race!"
