Chapter 1

*Ariel Jones’ POV* (It’s pronounced like the little mermaid)

“Good morning!”

Many people greet me as I walk into through the hallway towards the makeup and hair room.

“Hey darlin’ how are ya?” My hair and makeup stylist, Gianna asks me as soon as I step into the room and she pulls me in for a quick hug.

“I’m good! Yourself?” I quickly hug her back and she motions for me to sit on the chair in front of the mirror.

“Morning girls!” My manager, Mike, struts in and kisses both Gianna and me on the cheek.

He’s gay. Just thought I’d put that out there.

“So what’s on the agenda for today?” I ask as I check the time on my phone. 8:00AM it reads.

“Well my little Koala…” Mike says making me roll my eyes at what he called me.

“Mike, just because I’m Australian doesn’t mean I’m a koala, geez” I interrupt him making him laugh.

I was born and raised on the northern beaches in Sydney, Australia. My Mum was born in England and moved to Australia when she was 12 and My Dad was born is Australia as well but his parents are Italian.. My dad and I moved to London when I was 17 to be closer to mum’s family.

My mother committed suicide when I was 15.
I’d rather not get into the details of that.

I’m 20 years old now and still keep a smile on my face.

Mike laughs at me and takes out his phone.

“Well you have a recorded Interview with a magazine in 2 hours and then you have the London movie premier tonight.” He reads from his phone. “You have to be back here at 4pm so you can get ready for the premier and the after party after the film.”

I nod in understanding and quickly type it into my notes on my iPhone.

“Is Liam and Zac going to the after party as well?” I ask.

That’s right muthafukas, I’m in a movie with Liam Hemsworth and Zac Efron! It’s my 3rd major film I’ve starred in and working alongside those two amazing actors was a wonderful experience.

“Yep.” Mike simply says.

Gianna gets to work on my hair and on my hair and makeup. This interview will be recorded so it’s not like I can wear sweat pants and a jumper.

She brushes out my long light brown hair and turns on the curling iron. As that heats up, she starts my makeup. She put natural colored eye-shadows with mascara and eyeliner, which will hopefully make my hazel eyes sparkle.

After 20 minutes, my hair is in pretty curls and I thank Gianna for it,

I don’t have to get changed into a different outfit because the one I have on was suitable for the interview.

I’m wearing light wash jeans with a pretty crème colored lace top and a pair of my black heels.

I adjust the bracelets on my wrist and make sure my necklace is placed right.

Just as was about to ask Gianna something, my stomach rumbled.

“Wanna go get breakfast?” I ask, “All I had was a cuppa this morning.”

“’Course!” Gianna smiles.

On our way toward the elevator I stop by Mike’s office to invite him to eat. He declined saying he had some emails to check and he’d already eaten.

I quickly ring my security guard, Frankie to make sure he knew to pick us up from the small café down the street to take me to the interview.

Gianna and I walk down the block and enter the small café that I love. I stopped for a few fans on the way to take pictures with them but luckily none followed us to the café. Sure sometimes I am bombarded with screams and flashing lights but my fans understood when I wanted some private time and I adore them for that.

We take a seat at the back and a middle-aged waitress came and took our orders.

“I love your nails by the way.” I pick up Gianna’s hand and examine the cute bumblebee art on her nail.

We quickly engage in a conversation about our favorite nail polish colors and our least favorite.

I’m so grateful to be able to do what I love, which is acting, and Gianna just treats me like an every-day girl.

Sometimes you need a few down-to-earth people around you to keep you sane.
