Ch 21
Niall's POV
I looked at Hannah, she had her eyes closed and she was smiling. The breeze felt amazing, so I did the same. We just stood there and enjoyed it for a few quiet moments.
"So, earlier, when you were arguing with those girls." I started to say. Her eyes were still closed.
"What was that about?" I said, and she sighed a big sigh.
"They want you." She kept her eyes shut and I could tell she was having a hard time maintaining her peaceful mindset.
I didn't like seeing her like this, it was obviously bothering her. We gotta talk about it.
"Does that bother you?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Yeah, kind of." she said.
We were being completely honest here, so I had to let her know, "They... don't mean anything to me. Like, I honestly couldn't care less about how they feel about me. All I'm worried about is you, truthfully. Like.. tonight, I know I came off as overprotective, and I'm sorry. I don't want to be that guy... I don't want to suffocate you." I said, but I wasn't finished. I looked at her and she still had her eyes closed but a smile was creeping up on her face.
"Hannah, I can't see myself with another girl. I just see you. You and me, that's all I want. And, I don't want anyone getting in the way of that. Not any girl could ever make me feel the way you do, because to them I'm someone completely different. It's just easier and better with you. I can feel like I'm just one person." I watched her as I spoke. She looked confused.
"You are just one person...." She spoke. I forgot she had no clue what I meant.
"Yeah, you're right. I just wish sometimes everyone else felt that way."
"Well, if you like me as much as you say you do, it shouldn't really matter what everyone thinks, babe." She finally opened her eyes and looked me deep in my eyes.
"You're right...." her eyes changed my thoughts completely. I wanted to kiss her but I needed to get all of this off of my chest.
"And...like I can't see myself with another girl, I hope you can't see yourself with any other guy. I couldn't ever.... get over seeing you with Au---any other guy." I almost confessed.
She must have noticed and knew what I meant because she smiled and said, "I don't want him. I just want you."
I smiled back and started to hug her. "...Fuck what everyone else thinks. Don't let the girls get to you because you're way above them. And you're mine. Don't ever worry. I got you and I want this."
"I want it to." she layed her head on my chest.
"....Do you ever think about what's going to happen when---"
"Stop." She squeezed me. "I don't want to."
"I don't either but these days are going by so fast. Tomorrow it will be only 4 more days..."
She sighed and said, "Then what...?"
"I already told you.. I want this." I said and she lifted her head.
"After this is all over? You want this..." she sounded like she didn't...
"I do." I kissed her forehead.
"Baby." she said to me. I looked at her again. "I'm really happy to hear you say that." she kissed my lips and then put her head back on my chest.
We stood there hugging, I never wanted this to end. "Baby, they don't know about us." I said to her. I could do shit like that because she had no clue what that was from. HA!
But then she laughed really hard and looked at me again. "They don't know about us." she repeated. I wasn't sure if that was a coincident or not but it worked.
With her head on my chest, I started to rub her back. "Hannah."
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
"I love you too." She looked up and kissed me. I felt her tongue go in my mouth. It felt so right I couldn't let her go. When she pulled away I hugged her even tighter again.
My heart was beating so fast. "I really do." I said again and I felt her kiss my shoulder.
