All These Little Things
Chapter 8: Innocent
"You know, every time I see you, I swear you get more and more beautiful." Niall said while we were walking to his car.
I blushed and looked up at him.
"Niall? Is this a date?" I asked him and watched his reaction with curious eyes.
He scrunched up his face in confusion.
"I thought the last time was a date." He claimed and stopped before opening my door and letting me in. I waited for him to get in the driver's seat.
"I must admitt, it wasn't the best I could do." He said chuckling right after.
"Why don't we just call this date the first one, if it goes well, that is. If it doesn't, I will keep trying until we have the 'perfect' first date." He looked at me and smiled. He leaned in and put a soft kiss on my lips.
"Okay?" He asked right after kissing me.
"Sounds good to me." I replied.
He smiled and started the car, as we pulled away, I asked, "Where we going?" He laughed.
"I thought you wanted me to surprise you." He looked at me, trying to figure out the answer to his question.
"Yea, I guess I was hoping you would forget so you could tell me." I stated simply.
He smiled and practically sang his response, "Never in your wildest dreams." I laughed at his song reference.
"You do this on a daily basis?" I asked.
"No, only when I like someone." He said while looking in my eyes. I blushed and looked away.
"Eyes on the road, flirt!" I laughed and so did he.
I was watching my surroundings pass me by. I noticed I saw the same thing twice.
"Niall, haven't we passed that house already?"
He laughed.
"You know, I think you're right."
"What?" I laughed and realized where we were going.
He pulled up at the park that was a block away from my house, the same park I ran to after leaving him with a mob of fans.
He stopped the car and jogged to my side of the car. He opened my door and stuck his hand infront of me.
"Our date awaits love."
I grabbed his hand and we walked towards the park. I gasped when I saw what he had set up. He had white Christmas lights hanging on the swings, making it light up both of the swings and I noticed that they were pulled aside. I assumed they were pulled aside because under the frame of the swing set, there was a big blanket with a dvd player and a stack of movies.
"It's beautiful." I whispered.
He smiled and stepped infront of me.
"A good first date so far?"
I nodded, still speechless from how pretty everything looked.
"Come on love."
He directed me to the blanket and sat down.
"Join me?" He asked. I smiled because he just looked so innocent.
I sat down and looked at him. He smirked and laid all the way down, putting his hands behind his head.
"You should really look at the sky." He said and I giggled.
"You already caught me doing that." I said. He sat up, and chuckled.
"Well, I want to look at it with you."
I laid down with him. He grabbed my hand and started talking to me.
"Can I ask you a question?" He asked and squeezed my hand.
"Sure." I said.
"Now don't take this the wrong way but was I your first kiss?"
"How'd you know?" I asked sitting up and he followed me up also. He looked at me and said, "Because, when I did kiss you, you were shocked like you've never been kissed before."
I blushed.
"Was it that bad?" I asked, ashamed that I didn't know how to kiss.
"No!" He said a little too quickly.
"I mean, I was sort of happy that you didn't have your first kiss because it made the moment more," he paused and it looked like he was struggling to find the right word, "real." He finished and grabbed my hand.
I smiled and he smiled back.
"Yea, I'm pretty inocent but I told you, no guy took interest me. I have no experience." I said, just thinking about it made me a little sad.
He softly brushed my cheek with the back of his hand.
"My innocent girl." I could feel my cheeks getting warmer and I think he did too.
"No need to be shy love. Not anymore."
He leaned in and kissed me. I felt him slightly lick the bottom of my lip, asking for entrance and I glady gave it to him. I awkwardly let him kiss me, seeing that I didn't know how. After a few seconds, I got the hang of it and let my instincts take over. I put my hand on the back of his neck and started to play with his hair. I felt a smile forming on his mouth and he talked against my mouth.
"That tickles!" He said. I started to laugh and just like that, the kiss was over.
"What movie are we watching?" I asked looking at all the different movies. I looked at them all. There was eight different movies and they were all Disney movies.
"Niall, how long did you think I was staying?"
"Enough to get us through two movies." He said. "I just wanted to make sure there was enough options."
I looked through them again and found Cinderella.
"This one!" I said, just a little bit too excited.
"Alright! Cinderella it is!"
My favorite park of the movie is when they dance together in the ball room. At this part, Niall stood up and stood infront of me.
"Care to dance?" He asked while sticking his hand out.
"It would be an honor!" I said and grabbed his hand. He helped me up and I put my arms around his neck while he put his hands on my hips.
"Your too far away love." He said and pulled me closer. I was practically hugging him but he didn't seem to mind. Our bodies moved together in sync. The part of the movie ended but our slow dance didn't.
"Niall? There is no more music playing." I stated and tried to pull away because I found it awkward dancing without any music.
He realized I was trying to get away and pulled my back into the 'hugging' dance position and he started to sing.
All I knew, this morning when I woke, is I know something now,know something now
I didn't before
I realized what song it was and started to sing with him.
And all I've seen since eighteen hours ago
Is green eyes, your freckles and your smile
In the back of my mind making me feel right
I just want to know you better, know you better, know you better now
He stopped singing and kissed me passionately. I smiled and kissed him back. We were still dancing together but our lips preoccupied with something other than singing.
I pulled back from the kiss.
"You make me feel wanted."
He smiled and said, "That's what you have been all along."
Our foreheads rested on each other while he sang a different song to me.
I quess you really did it this time
left yourself in your war-path
lost your balance on a tight rope
lost your mind trying to get it back
wasn't it easier in your lunch box days?
always a bigger bed to crawl into
wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything?
and everybody believed in you?
It's alright just wait and see
your string of lights is still bright to me
who you are is not where you've been
you're still an innocent
you're still an innocent
did somethings you can't speak of
but at night you live it all again
you wouldn't be shattered on the floor now
if only you had seen what you know now then
wasn't it easier in your firefly catching days?
when everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild 'till you fell asleep?
before the monsters caught up to you
it's alright just wait and see
your string of lights is still bright to me
who you are is not where you've been
your still an innocent

"I think I really like you." He said in the cutest way ever.
"I think I really like you too." I said.
It was the truth. I was really starting to like him, a lot.
I blushed and looked up at him.
