Coras PoV
"You ready Cora?" Haha. No. Allthought I'm outgoing, Im not great when it comes to new people. I'm always shy and quiet at first then it takes forever for people to actually see who I really am. And meeting one direction? I really need to make a good impression.

"Heloooo.....Cora, you in there?" I blinked out of my daze and turned back to my best friend.

"Yea, lets go Ni." I hopped out of the car and headed to the door next to Niall. I took a shaky breath.

"Stop worrying they're gonna love you," he gave my hand a reassuring squeeze before opening the door. As I entered the living room 4 pairs of eyes turned to me. I forced a smile.

"Hi," I said meakly. Liam and Louis jumped up straight away.

"Hey Cora, we've heard so much about you!"

"Lovely to finally meet you!" They both gave me a hug. I looked past them to Zayn and Harry who were both staring at me wide eyed. I turned to Niall with a panicked look, had I done something wrong already? He cleared his throte.

"Uhh...Zayn, Harry?" They both blinked as if snapping back into reality and stood up.

"Um..hi love, I'm Harry," he said awkwardly.

"I'm Zayn," the room fell into an uncomfortable silence.

"Right" said Louis clapping his hands, "what do we all want to do."

"How about football (soccor), do you like football Cora?" I nodded. We all went outside and started playing. After the first few goals the boys realised I was quite good and stepped up there game. We played for a while, laughing and smiling, no longer uncomfortable around each other.

"Ni where the loo?" I asked.

"Go to the left down the long hallway and its the third door on the right."

"Ok, thanks," I smiled and went off the the loo.




Nialls PoV
I watched as she walked into the house. Ugh why does she have to be so perfect? With her long straight blonde and brown hair, and her eyes that change colour, and her laugh and smile and her---damn im screwed. I'm totally in love with my best friend and she has no idea. I walked over to Zayn and Harry and heard Zayn speaking.

"So I'm thinking of asking Cora out," what?

"Wait, you were gonna asked her out? I was!" Harry said obviously annoyed.

"I said it first," Zayn argued.

"I thought it first!" Harry rebutted.

"Mate, you've dated about a million girls in the last year, I've had no one. I get to ask her out."

"You've had no one because you ask no-one. And maybe she'll be different for the others." Zayn and Harry continued to argue over Cora as if she was a baseball card.

"HEY!" I cut in. There heads snapped to me only just realising I was there.

"Oh great, your her best friend, tell us who you think should ask her out, me or Hazz," Zayn spoke Harry's name with disgust, obviously thinking I would pick him. I laughed.

"You honestly think Im going to do that?" I asked. "Neither of you deserve to go out with Cora. Harry I'm not letting her be one of your 1 week girl friends who you leave as soon as you find someone new. And Zayn, you havnt even tryed dating in a year, you saw cora and decided she would be a nice place to start, haha...NO! My god I'm not picking one of you to go out with her, she deserves someone much better." I said, frustrated with both of them. Harry shook his head slowly.

"And who would that person be? You?" He scoffed and I blushed. Zayns eyes widened.

"Haz, he does mean him!" Harry stopped laughing and looked back up.

"Oh my god you do! You want to go out with her! Your in love with her!" Harry said much to loudly. There was no point denying it, they wouldn't beleive me.

"Whatever," I mumbled. Harry went to say somethingbut froze. His eyes were focused on something behind me. I turned around to see the door slamming shut.

"I'm assuming that wasn't Liam or Louis," Zayn shook his head at me. I let out a laugh with no humor.

"Wonderful! Now Coras freaked out and will never speak to me again. My best friend since forever just ran out because YOU FUCKING YELLED THAT I LOVE HER!!!" I sprinted to the fence and jumped over it as Cora was getting into a cab.

"Cora wait! Please!" But I was too late. I fell to the ground hopelessly as I watched her cab drive off.



Coras PoV
Crap crap crap. Niall loves me? This is not good. I repeat: THIS IS NOT GOOD! I mean obviously I love him too, but we're best friends, not girlfriend and boyfriend. Sure it's a good story, best friends fall in love and get together. But that's all it is, a good story. It could never really happen. Just a good story......

I payed the cab driver and walked up to my apartment, sinking down onto thecouch when I was inside. I turned on the tv. After 10 minutes there was a know at the door. Most likely the pizza I had ordered. I got up and opened the door....




"Niall," I breathed.

"Cora please don't be freaked out." He started. "I know you are but please don't, look I don't care if things can't go back to the way they were-" um ouch "-but I love you. Ok I always have and now I'm saying it, and I think you love me too." I looked down.

"Well of course I love you Ni-"

"You do?" He cut me off

"yes but-"

"But nothing." He cut me off again. I sighed.

"Niall, it just... It wouldn't work."

"But why," he wined like a little kid. I smiled sadly.

"Becasue its just a good story. Best friends fall in love, get together and live happily every after. It sounds nice, but its just a good story." He stepped closer to me, put his hands on my waist and whispered,

"What's so bad about a good story," he leaned in and kissed me. Fireworks went off and all my doubts flew away. A good story, what was so bad about it? He pulled away and looked into my eyes.

"Nothing," I answered, pressing my lips to him, beginning a new chapter in our story.
