These Chapters of Our Lives ~ COMPLETED

Flower Girl

One Year Later
The arrival day had come. Our boys were finally coming home from yet another tour. Excited can’t even begin to explain what I’m feeling. Maybe it’s because, at the same time, I’m a bit nervous. After all, we’ve got a wedding to plan.

Sure, it had been a little over a year since Harry had proposed, but we had decided it would be best to wait until their tour had finished to wed. There’s that reason, and I’ve always fantasized getting married on New Year’s Day, where we’d seal our marriage right at the stroke of midnight. The idea isn’t original, but it was what my mom and dad did and it’s what I want to do now.

The thought of officially being married to Harry slipped from my mind as two strong arms wrapped around my waist. I turned around, a huge smile playing off my face, only to be disappointed by Perrie standing there. My smile instantly turned into frown.

“Perrie! That’s not cool; I thought you were Harry,” I pout my lip at her. She reciprocates.

“Aw… Someone’s in a grumpy mood. Lucky for you, I can see a certain curly-headed male from here…”

“Where?” I spin my head around. She points her finger in the direction of the airport bathrooms where a maintenance man with curly hair mopping. I turn back to Perrie and glare at her.

“Not cool, Per.” I shake my head at her and sit down on the bench.

“Chill out, Har. Their flight doesn’t land for another twenty minutes. Even then, they still have to go through customs and what not. We’ll see them soon.”

I scoff. “That’s pretty hypocritical, Per. I wasn’t the one crying this morning about how much I missed my boyfriend. ‘Oh, I can’t wait to see Zayn. I haven’t seen him since forever, and I just want to run up and give him a big hug because I miss him so so so much,’” I mock Perrie from this morning. One moment she’s complaining about how much she just wants the plane to land; the next minute she’s telling me to stop complaining about wanting to see Harry.

“That is not what I said! I don’t sound like that!” Perrie scolded me. I laughed and hugged her anyway telling her sarcastically that it wasn’t. Then, Eleanor came running over with Hailey in tug.

“Their flight landed early; they should be here any minute now!” she screeched.

“Where’s Dani?” I ask her.

“Bathroom. Andrew made a stinky…” Her nose shriveled up at the thought while Hailey bounced excitedly in her arms.

I laughed minorly at the cuteness shown, and turned away when a snort came up from my throat. My eyes widened and cheeks flushed in embarrassment as the girls’ laughter roared.

“So, Harmony, it seems that you have a wedding coming up soon… Have you done any planning at all?” El asks.

I shake my head. “You know that Harry and I wanted to plan everything together. And I mean everything.”

“I know, but still…”

“Well you have planned one thing, at least. Maid of honor,” Perrie hints at the last part by whispering loudly into my ear.

“Um… I-”

“Please, you’re not the maid of honor. If anything, I am. Right, Har?” El answers before I can.

“Why would you be her maid of honor? I’m her best friend!” Perrie says. “Tell her, Harmony.”

“Guys, I-”

I’m cut off by both of them yelling simultaneously at one another, leaving me caught in the war. I see Danielle start to walk over with Andrew in tow. When she makes eye contact with me, I mouth ‘help me’ making her inquisitive expression appear.

“What’s going on here?” Danielle interrupts the feud.

“Dani, would you tell Perrie that I’m Harmony’s maid of honor. I thought it was pretty obvious.”

Danielle shakes her head. “I think that decision is up to Harmony. Although, I think you’re both wrong here… That’s embarrassing.”

I shake my head and laugh as Dani gets dragged into this argument while I scanned the room. It isn’t long until a pair of deep brown eyes caught my attention. I looked past them and saw blue, brown, blue, and then finally green.

“Harry!” I yelled and ran as fast as my legs could take me. I threw my arms around his neck as his dropped the luggage and made their way around my waist. “I missed you…”

“I missed you more.”

“That and he’ll have to go through me if he wants to get anywhere near my little girl.” The recurring pews and aisle become a distinct image in my mind. “What’s up, my little Dandelion?”

I smile inwardly as little me wraps her dainty arms around his neck. He blows a raspberry into her shoulder causing her, or me rather, to burst into giggles.

“Honey, Harmony and I have to get going. The wedding starts in less than an hour; Lucille is waiting for us.” He hands her over to mom, and I find my mind following the two until we reach the room with the bride.

“Nicole, you’ve arrived!” the bride, most likely Lucille walks over and hugs my mother. She turns to little me, as I’ve now decided to address her, and smiles. “Look at you! You’re getting so big!” Little me squeals as she takes me from mom and hugs me tightly.

“Her dress got a bit dirty, I’m afraid…” mom says. I giggle as Lucille examines the back part of the dress little me is wearing.

“Silly goose. Luckily, Kayla couldn’t make it, so she’s free to wear the dress we had for her daughter,” she says. She turns to me next. “Looks like we’re just going to have one flower girl after all.

I wake up abruptly, sitting up in my bed, as the scene in my head turns to a blank nothingness. The dreams had been coming to me still, once, sometime twice a month, but I’d never seen this part of the dream. It was either sitting in the meadow, or the first part of the church; never before had it been meeting the bride, or recalling that it was even a wedding to begin with.

I couldn’t help but think that maybe the dream was hinting to something about Harry and I getting married by showing me a distant memory of the past. However, I just couldn’t put my finger on it.

An arm, Harry’s arm to be exact, hit my hand softly. “I’m getting cold. Come back to bed.”

I look back at my clock that reads just past ten in the morning. Then, my stomach lets out a low groan. “I’m getting up to eat breakfast.” I slowly start to scoot out of bed when a hand pulls me back down.

“Just cuddle with me for five more minutes,” he says softly, his eyes never opening. He pulls me closer to him until I’m wrapped securely in his arms.

“Okay.”

Notes

Danielle was pregnant.
She had a baby boy named Andrew.

The boys went on tour.
The dreams have been reoccurring a lot.
The wedding is soon.

Oh shit, things are getting real.

How many of you thought -by the chapter title and description- that the wedding was going to occur? Any idea on what the dreams mean? Any thoughts on what happened a year ago with her aunt? That's for me to know and for you to guess until you've suffered enough. ;D

@Lazylazerpants
I can't believe I just saw your comment! Thank you so much! I honestly don't think this series was that great, but if you really did enjoy it, you'll definitely enjoy my other story, Love At First Type, if you haven't read it already. You don't have to, but it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again! :D

So I spent the past week reading all three of these and I have to say, this was a fantastic end to a fantastic series. Great job!

@ThatRebelUnicorn
It is a compliment, I didn't know what word I should use and I thought "unusual" was the most appropriate :)
that's it! The cliffhanger was perfect though! It worked perfectly!

@Marbleskin
Still not sure if I should take "unusual stories" as a compliment, but thanks! To be completely honest, I completely agree that the ending of Listen To Your Heart was horrible, but I was kind of going for the cliff hanger thing like at the end of Catching Fire, but yeah… it sucked. I'm really glad that you liked the sequel though :D

Being honest, I was mad at the en of Listen to your heart, because to me, it wasn't a good ending. And I was so sad that it was over! Then, 2 hours ago, I realized that you wrote a sequel! I felt so stupid yet so happy!
I'm happy that you give the explanations of everything in the epilogue, what a brilliant idea! When I first read it, I was afraid that I missed it, that I could have skipped a chapter accidentally...
This sequel is amazing, you're still an amazing writer, & I truly like your other story too! Thanks for writing such good things and unusual stories!
